go home

He Chenghuan paused, his thoughts jumping back and forth between "How could the Imperial Master stay in the palace and surrender?" and "But she said she might still be in the palace."

He didn't hesitate for long, and beckoned his men around him, "Go and arrange for someone to search this place again."

He said carefully, "Tear up every wall and floor tile and search."

Su Fangli found a quiet place and began to try to carve a jade plate, but no matter how careful she was, the jade plate would always crack inadvertently.

Not a single one of them was usable.

Could it be that this batch of jade plates was deliberately left here by the Imperial Master?

Or does the imperial master have a special carving knife?

Su Fangli thought so as he looked at the carving knife in his hand.

"How is it?" He Chenghuan approached.

Su Fangli turned around and saw a little dust on his face that had gotten on his face at some point in time, and couldn't help but smile.

"Have you found the Imperial Master?"

"No." He Chenghuan didn't know what Su Fangli was laughing at, but he laughed along with her anyway.

Su Fangli put down the carving knife and jade plate in his hands and patted the dust off his hands. At the right moment, a handkerchief was handed to him. Su Fangli raised his hand to take it, wiped it twice, and then found that -

Isn’t this your own handkerchief?

The handkerchief was well preserved, as it had always been kept close to He Chenghuan's body, and had been imbued with his scent.

Su Fangli's face turned red for no apparent reason. Just as she was about to put the handkerchief back, a hand reached out and took it back swiftly.

She looked over in surprise, only to see the man's eyebrows slightly raised, his expression showing undisguised pride.

"Let me see if I can divine the exact location of the Imperial Master." Su Fangli pretended to look away casually, took out the Tarot cards and began to shuffle them.

She divined very carefully, asking about every palace in the imperial palace, and finally, she locked on one.

Su Fangli looked at the result and was stunned for a moment.

"What's wrong?" He Chenghuan came over to take a look.

"At my previous residence." Su Fangli said, standing up and leading the way.

Her residence in the Imperial Observatory was very remote. It looked like a large room from the outside, but it was very cramped inside.

When Su Fangli first arrived, she hadn't even considered the secret room. Now, looking back, she always felt something was odd in the room. Could it be that someone was watching her from the shadows?

Su Fangli pushed open the door.

The room was still as dusty as when she had left it. She glanced back at He Chenghuan, who nodded and ordered the people behind him, "Search."

What looked like a wall was easily pried open, revealing a dark secret room.

There was a hidden world in the room.

"Be careful, I'll go in and take a look first." He Chenghuan pressed Su Fangli's shoulder, then held the hilt of the sword at his side, bent down and went into the newly discovered secret room.

The secret room was very damp and one could faintly smell the damp smell of blood.

He Chenghuan frowned and took a few more steps inside with his men.

"You finally found it." Someone suddenly spoke.

Deep inside, a man dressed in pure white sat on the ground, his head leaning weakly against the wall. He looked up, and his chest was covered with blood.

He Chenghuan didn't say anything. His body felt cold and he closed his eyes and then opened them again.

"Your Highness." He Xuanli said weakly, "I haven't seen you for a few years. I didn't expect you to come back."

"You killed my mother." He Chenghuan's voice was slightly hoarse. If Ye Zhihui were here, he would immediately recognize that the Crown Prince had suddenly changed his mind.

"I just want to send her away from this cannibalistic palace." He Xuanli took a few breaths and stood up with the help of the wall.

"If Sister Ruolan doesn't like this place, why not let me send her away?"

"You!" He Chenghuan unsheathed his sword and pointed it at the person in front of him. His eyes were bloodshot, and the hand holding the sword was shaking uncontrollably.

"What a pity." He Xuanli seemed too lazy to talk to him. He just leaned against the wall and found a chair to sit down, muttering to himself:

"Unfortunately, I didn't succeed in leaving, but instead attracted people who shouldn't have come."

No one present understood, but Su Fangli, who had sneaked in from the secret passage, paused.

"It was just a matter of time. I have nothing to say." He Xuanli didn't know what he was holding in his hand. "Click." A subtle sound was heard, and He Chenghuan's body shook. Another force took over and controlled his body, moving it back a few steps.

Du——

An arrow landed where he had been standing.

"Protect His Highness!" He Chenghuan's men panicked, surrounded He Chenghuan, and used swords to knock down the arrows.

"Puff—" The sound of several arrows hitting the flesh was heard, but it did not attract much attention.

Su Fangli widened her eyes and looked at the man in white sitting on a chair deep in the secret room.

A large mass of red spread from his body, and he sat quietly as before, with a few spots of bright red splashed on his pale face.

He Xuanli glanced over and met Su Fangli's gaze. He pulled the corner of his mouth and revealed a meaningful smile.

Before she could understand what the other person was trying to say, her view was suddenly blocked by someone. He Chenghuan walked up to her and asked, "How are you? How did you get in? Are you hurt?"

Su Fangli shook her head, avoided He Chenghuan's obstruction, and looked at He Xuanli.

The man in white had turned red, and his eyes were lifeless. He must have died in the secret room he had set up.

"It's not me." He Chenghuan blurted out. He recalled the meaningful smile on the Imperial Master's face just now and explained anxiously.

"I know." Su Fangli walked closer and saw the jade plate in his arms.

The jade plate was soaked with blood, and the marks on it were clearly visible.

Not hers.

He Chenghuan wanted to explain, but Su Fangli's behavior made him at a loss as to how to explain it. He could only watch her leave with a pile of jade plates and carving knives that she had found in the secret room.

Su Fangli came to the place where the national teacher was in seclusion with a bunch of things, and unexpectedly saw a figure standing at the door.

"You're back." It turned out to be He Hongli.

He Hongli had already changed out of his wedding attire and into his usual casual clothes. His eyes were dark, and his expression was listless yet a bit apprehensive as he looked at her.

Su Fangli nodded without saying anything.

"Will you...will you still marry me?" He Hongli asked in a low voice.

Su Fangli did not answer.

Noticing Su Fangli's attitude, he felt as if his heart was being squeezed by a hand. He swallowed the bitterness in his throat, smiled, and said, "I understand."

He seemed to have known that Su Fangli would give such an answer. After a pause, he put on his usual cold and dignified expression.

"I can give you whatever you want, go ahead. Don't worry, I will help the Fang family redress their wrongdoing." After he said that, he turned and left, looking a little embarrassed from behind.

Su Fangli watched him leave, her mouth moving slightly. Given the current situation, it would be best if she didn't respond.

She collected her thoughts and went into seclusion with the things in her arms.

Perhaps it was a psychological effect, but the newly found jade plate and carving knife were much easier to use than before. Su Fangli carefully carved her eight characters and breathed a sigh of relief. She remembered the blood-soaked jade plate she had seen several times before and tightened her grip on the dagger.

Su Fangli hesitated for a moment, put down the dagger, picked up the carving knife again and started carving.

This time, what was engraved was He Chenghuan’s horoscope.

After carving the horoscope, she took her horoscope and dagger and walked into the depths of the secret room.

-

Her face felt a little hot, and Su Fangli slowly opened her eyes.

Her eyes were dazzled by the dazzling light for a moment, and she tilted her head, closed her eyes for a moment before opening them again.

The strange yet familiar smell of disinfectant lingered in her nose, and a strong premonition welled up in her heart.

She is back.

Su Fangli propped herself up and stood up, and the nurse who came to check on her immediately noticed it.

"You're awake." The nurse came over and pulled the needle out of her hand, then supported her and asked gently, "Are you feeling any discomfort?"

Su Fangli shook her head, feeling extremely weak. But she still stood up: "What's wrong with me?"

"Hey. You fell from the third floor. Luckily, a kind person stopped you, so you didn't get seriously hurt. But you still got a few cuts from the broken glass. Be careful not to get wet, okay?"

"Okay, I understand." Su Fangli nodded. She hesitated for a moment and continued to ask the nurse, "How is that kind-hearted person?"

The nurse paused and sighed: "He hasn't woken up yet. He seems to have hit his head and is still unconscious."

Su Fangli: "I want to go over and take a look, is that okay?"

"This..." The nurse hesitated: "Okay, I'll take you there."

Su Fangli followed the nurse to another ward, where a person was lying quietly on the bed with a peaceful expression.

His thick black hair fell back, revealing his smooth forehead. His nose was high and his lips were thin, giving him a somewhat cold and aloof look.

"Don't touch anything here. I'm going to be busy. If you need anything, just ring the bell." The nurse said and left.

Su Fangli walked to the bedside.

Although she left He Chenghuan's jade plate behind when she left, she was not sure whether he would choose to come back.

After all, over there, He Chenghuan is a prince of noble status, and it would be very easy for him to ascend the throne and become emperor.

She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice the man on the bed suddenly opened his eyes.

The two looked at each other for a long time, and neither of them spoke first.

"I think you have a peculiar fate, and your marriage star is fluctuating." Su Fangli said with a chuckle.

He Chenghuan's eyes widened, and he immediately stood up, threw back the quilt, and pulled out the needle from the back of his hand, "Let's go."

-

The two left the Civil Affairs Bureau and immediately rushed back to Su Fangli's fortune-telling shop.

Her shop was smashed up and she had to worry about repairing it.

"Manager?"

"Cheng Huan!"

Tao Tao and Zhuang Hanfei, who were guarding the store downstairs, rushed over.

"Manager, are you okay? I heard that someone was causing trouble and it was all on the news. Are you hurt?" Tao Tao pulled Su Fangli's hand and asked anxiously, while carefully checking her for any injuries.

"What is this?" Tao Tao looked at Su Fangli's hand in surprise. There was a shining ring on her ring finger.

She was so surprised that her voice trembled. "Manager, you, you're married? Didn't you say that all men in the world are bad?"

"Is she the boss of your store?" Zhuang Hanfei asked Tao Tao. Tao Tao didn't bother to pay attention to him, so he could only turn around and look at He Chenghuan.

Zhuang Hanfei: "Didn't you say that divination is all a scam, and that charlatans who cheat and deceive will eventually be exposed?"

Upon hearing this, Su Fangli and He Chenghuan smiled at each other.

Amidst the chaos of the street corner and the questions of their friends, the two held hands tightly with rings on.

Su Fangli & He Chenghuan: "Yes, but he is different."
