Chapter 5 The Duties of a Financial Sponsor

Chapter 5 The Duties of a Financial Sponsor

◎You are from Jinan! I am from Qingdao (fake smile)◎

It was only because Ji Nan met a clear-headed and stupid college student like Zhong Jiajing that he was able to easily turn the page on this humiliating incident.

What kind of people are college students? Even if you step on someone's foot, they will still sigh and bow and say a nonsensical thank you to you.

Zhong Jiajing was like this at the moment. She smiled and asked Ji Nan, "Okay, okay, then where are we going to walk the dog today, Mr. Goldsmith?"

Ji Nan was really confused by her frank trick. He was silent for a long time before he came out of his own heart. He said in a hoarse voice: "It's a waste of time to go back and forth. Let's just walk around the school tonight."

There is a food street near the school. It is usually crowded with people, and of course there are even more people on weekends.

Ji Nan's original intention was to let her take the dog for a stroll on a quiet path, but unexpectedly, he took the dog straight to the downtown area. The appearance of the cute and adorable animal easily captured the hearts of all the boys and girls.

Duoduo is a noisy person to begin with. After receiving all kinds of passionate gazes, he wagged his tail even more happily. It was obvious that he was immersed in the cheers and couldn't extricate himself.

Zhong Jiajing feigned indifference as she held the dog's leash, but in reality, her smile stretched to the sky. Her steps were incredibly slow, and time ticked by as she covered only a few dozen meters. Her proud, boastful demeanor was no different from that of a fisherman who had caught a fat fish.

Ji Nanluo was a few steps away from her, but there were too many eyes focused on her, and it was inevitable that some of them would be on him, which made him feel extremely embarrassed, so he simply put on his hood to cover his head.

Every time she walked a certain distance, Zhong Jiajing would look back to see if her sponsor was keeping up with her pace.

When she looked back again, what she saw was a "pretentious man".

Ji Nan wore a white sleeveless hoodie, revealing arms that weren't overly muscular, yet had smooth, firm lines. He was already incredibly handsome, and the hood made his hidden jaw appear even more defined and sharp, like a comic book character come to life.

The stunning gazes attracted too many people, and Zhong Jiajing was somewhat dissatisfied with his behavior of stealing the limelight, so she couldn't help but look at him with some resentment.

She had her hair tied up in a high bun, and it was already messy. A few strands of hair fell down and stuck to her slightly wet temples, making her look a little confused.

She looked back much more frequently than before. When she looked back again, Ji Nan took off his hat and called out to her, "Why do you keep looking back?"

The street was almost at the end. There was a dim street lamp above Ji Nan's head. The light poured down and cast shadows on his handsome face like a sculpture, making him look extremely bewitching.

But Zhong Jiajing's eyes were full of beauty. She smirked and said, "Haha, I'm just curious how old you are. You're dressed like a college student like us. If you didn't tell me, I'd think we were the same age."

Isn't this just like an old cucumber painted green to pretend to be young? Her inner os is honest.

Ji Nan raised the corner of his mouth and said with a half-smile: "To give birth to you, she must be at least forty years old."

“…”

Communication between people is sometimes useless.

After walking forward a little further, Duoduo suddenly lay on the ground and refused to move an inch. She glanced at Ji Nan from time to time with her little eyes, and the hint was obvious.

Zhong Jiajing squatted beside and poked the dog's fur and asked, "Why doesn't it want to walk? I remember it was quite good at walking. Is it because there are not many people around and it's not lively enough?" She guessed randomly.

"I'm hungry." Ji Nan answered briefly, then took out a box of dog food from his messenger bag and fed it to Duoduo's mouth.

Zhong Jiajing asked incredulously, "Are you abusing it?"

Ji Nan glanced at her dimly, "Have you ever seen an abused dog so plump and beautiful?"

He replied using the words she usually used to describe Duoduo.

Of course, the dog didn’t understand why the two people were calling it chubby. It only knew that its big meal was right in front of it, so it focused all its energy on eating.

Zhong Jiajing looked at the dog grunting as it ate and suddenly realized, "Oh! So you're trying to help it lose weight, using the small, frequent meals method, right?"

"Wrong! Which eye of yours could tell it needed to lose weight?" He looked at her. "We usually have dinner at 7 o'clock. I went out early today, so I fed it halfway. Isn't it normal for it to be hungry right now?"

A father is a father, and his baby is the cutest in the world no matter what.

The two people and the dog squatted in a circle under the light. Passersby watched with a curious heart but left in silence.

The biggest charm of eating broadcasts is that they can stimulate the appetite of viewers. Zhong Jiajing's appetite was quickly aroused by watching the puppy showing off his food.

"Gugugu~"

The sound of an unhappy stomach was particularly clear in the quiet night. Even the puppy could hear the human's desire and quietly pushed out half a box of dog food to share with the hungry werewolf.

"Are you hungry too?" Ji Nan stood up and asked the girl beside him with a flushed face.

Zhong Jiajing didn't mind the dirtiness of the ground. She knelt on the ground and buried her face completely in the deep jungle of dog hair.

The calmer his voice was, the more embarrassed Zhong Jiajing felt, and she refused to raise her head for a long time.

She has a round head, which looks small and cute from the back.

Ji Nan stared at the back of her head and waited patiently for a moment, then sighed and said, "Where are your college skills?"

"What?" Zhong Jiajing was confused and felt it was impressive.

She finally looked at him, and Ji Nan said calmly, "When it rains, I know to run home. When I'm hungry, I know to find something to eat."

"It seems that you haven't learned any of them." He started to use the taunting skill again.

Another virtue of college students is to listen to advice and eat their fill.

When Zhong Jiajing stood in front of the pancake stall, she was in a dilemma. She wanted to add pork tenderloin, ham, bacon, and an extra portion of crispy pancakes. To put it bluntly, she wanted to go all in.

Ji Nan watched her dawdle for a long time, then turned his head and asked, "Don't you want to eat anything?"

She shook her head. "No, I want to eat them all. I can't decide, understand?"

She has been eating at this restaurant for four years and it is definitely the top pancake restaurant in her mind.

Ji Nan didn't answer, but just looked up at the menu on the curtain and said to the boss, "Boss, please give her a set of family portraits." As he said that, he scanned the QR code on the side and paid the money.

"No, no, no, how can you pay?" Zhong Jiajing quickly refused.

"It's just the job of a financial sponsor." He said calmly with a stern face.

The young couple was having so much fun that the stall owner was so anxious to eat the melons that she even forgot her 30 years of experience in making cakes.

Ji Nan looked at the pie full of holes and said, "Sister, I have obsessive-compulsive disorder. Please help me fill the holes."

The boss was caught by the person involved. She smiled awkwardly and said, "Haha, I was sick and hospitalized a few days ago, so it's inevitable that I'm a little careless. I'll make it up to you right away."

Of course Ji Nan felt ashamed, he lowered his head and stammered, probably wanting to say something.

Just as he was about to speak, Zhong Jiajing tiptoed over to his ear and whispered, "She's lying to you. I've been out for a walk every day and I've never seen her absent. I even want to give her a perfect attendance award."

The smell at the base of my ears was a little hot, different from the heat of the hot summer, with a moist touch and a faint minty scent.

The tips of his ears felt a little hot, but he didn't say anything, just mumbled "hmm".

The eldest sister probably felt a little guilty, so she added double the ingredients to the pancakes. Zhong Jiajing watched a huge pancake about to come out of the oven and hurriedly stopped it, saying, "Sister, can you help cut it into two portions and pack it?"

"Okay, you and your boyfriend each take half, and your relationship will remain the same." The boss thought he was being very sensible and said some good advice.

Who knew that both of their faces turned black?

"He's not my boyfriend!"

"I'm not her boyfriend."

From then on, the sign on the pancake stall had another sentence: If you want to run a good pancake stall, the key is to talk less.

"Pack some food up and take it back for your roommate?" Ji Nan asked as he watched her take the two bags from the boss who looked disheartened.

"Roommates? They don't deserve to eat such good food." Zhong Jiajing was furious when she recalled the fear of being dominated by the dog's barking a few days ago.

She handed him one of the larger bags and said, "They say a father and daughter are connected by heart. Your child is hungry, so you should be hungry too, right?"

"We haven't seen each other for more than 20 years, and our hearts haven't connected yet, but you sisters are blood thicker than water." Although there was no obvious feeling of hunger, Ji Nan still took it.

“…” Zhong Jiajing didn’t expect that she had dug a hole for herself.

The two of them sat on the steps, munching on pancakes. Duoduo couldn't control herself in the face of the fragrant aroma. Knowing that she couldn't get her owner's consent, she cleverly lay down at Zhong Jiajing's feet and stared at him eagerly.

Zhong Jiajing was so fascinated that she had no choice but to tear off a small piece of bread without any sauce and feed it to Duoduo. Duoduo still ate this original food without any technology with gusto. Zhong Jiajing couldn't help but sigh, "Your baby really is not picky about food at all."

"Not entirely. It just doesn't like fish oil." Ji Nan pinched Duoduo's neck helplessly.

"Then why is its hair so beautiful?" Zhong Jiajing asked curiously.

"Just mix it into the dog food. It eats in such a hurry every day that it has no time to watch carefully," he explained.

Zhong Jiajing burst out laughing, and a few tears were mixed between her beautiful crescent-shaped eyebrows, making her look cute and innocent.

Ji Nan looked at her and smiled foolishly for a while, and the pancake in his hand was finished in no time, as if he had some magical tool in front of him to go with the meal.

When Zhong Jiajing regained her composure, the pancake in her hand suddenly looked more and more like the vermicelli in the bowl of a Fujian child, and she ate more and more.

She never liked being waited for during meals, and this put a lot of pressure on her, so she just nibbled randomly to try to speed things up.

The debris fell on the stairs. Duoduo wanted to pick up some food, but Ji Nan stopped her with force.

"Why are you in such a hurry? I'm not a ghost, no one is rushing you." He scolded the poor puppy with a stern face, while wiping the ground with a tissue, but his words were directed to her.

Ji Nan left for a short while to go to the restroom. When he came back, she had just finished her dinner. He handed her a bottle of water and asked, "Do you want to keep going?"

It wasn't even eight o'clock yet, and according to her usual dog-walking needs, this was just the beginning. But Zhong Jiajing shook her head for the first time, "No, let's not go. Let's rest early today."

She was criticized from all angles during the mock defense in the afternoon, and all her energy was sucked out of her in just half a day. Now, after a brief replenishment, she just wanted to go back and take a hot bath and lie down.

Ji Nan didn't ask the reason, just nodded and walked back with her.

Before entering the school gate, Zhong Jiajing called out to the tall man, "By the way, we've known each other for so long, but I still don't know your name?"

"Ji Nan," he replied calmly.

Zhong Jiajing tilted her head in surprise, "You are from Jinan!"

Ji Nan smiled, "I'm from Qingdao."

“…”

The author has something to say:

My update speed is really tear-jerking. I reflect on it and feel ashamed. I will definitely change it next time.
