Chapter 85 Climbing Lingshan Mountain
Lingshan can be said to be the foundation of the Buddhist world.
Countless Arhats, Bodhisattvas and Buddhist disciples live on Lingshan Mountain, which is also home to natural treasures such as the Bodhi tree.
The sound of the Buddhas chanting cleanses every corner of Lingshan every day. Over time, the entire Lingshan has acquired a certain Buddha nature.
If this continues, perhaps a true Buddha will be born from the mountain after countless years.
Xiudao is one of the four mountain roads leading up Lingshan Mountain, and is specifically for monks.
Unless there is an urgent matter concerning life and death, everyone must climb Lingshan step by step.
On both sides of the monastery, there are also many statues of Arhats,
Once they detect the climber's malicious intentions, the numerous Arhat statues will immediately take action to suppress them.
"Amitabha, if you want to go to Lingshan, just go. Why are you dragging me along? I'm afraid I won't be able to explain myself if I keep staying with you guys."
The sorrowful voice of the young monk Huike echoed in the monastery at Mount Lingshan.
It turned out that when Zhou Zhilu and others were about to climb Lingshan in the morning, Fusu forcibly dragged Huike over to lead the way.
Zhou Zhilu apologized, "I'm sorry, Master Huike, this is our first time on Mount Lingshan, and it would be best if we had someone to guide us."
The young monk Huike looked at Zhou Zhilu's face and sighed, "Looking at Mr. Zhou's appearance, I'm afraid he has suffered some serious internal injuries.
"It's a pity that there aren't many Nongfo fruits this year, otherwise I could give one to Mr. Zhou."
"Nongfo Fruit? What is that?" Zhou Zhilu asked curiously.
Huike explained, “Nongfo fruit is a kind of medicinal fruit grown in the medicinal garden of Lingshan. It is poisonous when it is immature. If you water it with spiritual water every day and recite Buddhist scriptures, it will mature in six months.
"The toxicity of a ripe Nongfo fruit will be transformed into medicinal properties. Eating it can heal wounds to the body and soul."
Zhou Zhilu understood, but seeing Huike's lack of interest, he asked, "Master Huike, what happened this year?"
Huike was quite hesitant when he heard this, not knowing whether he should say it or not.
Fusu on the side said anxiously, "Oh! You're hiding the reason why a spiritual fruit won't grow. It's because you Buddhists are afraid of outsiders knowing everything that you haven't made any progress in all these years!"
Huike immediately said anxiously, "Who said that?! We Buddhists are not so conservative. It's just that this matter... concerns Mount Lingshan."
Zhou Zhilu and the others looked at each other in surprise, wondering, "Lingshan? Could something have happened at Lingshan?"
Seeing that everyone kept asking questions, Huike stamped his foot and said, "Alas... Lingshan is crying."
"cry?!"
Fusu exclaimed in shock, "Your sacred mountain has already given birth to a mountain spirit? Oh my God! How could our Daoist sect lag so far behind?"
Huike blushed, glanced at Fusu and said, "I'll just... give you an analogy."
Fusu: “…”
Huike explained, "To be precise, it's actually the Buddha nature of Mount Lingshan that's fading, which is why the many herbs, flowers, and fruits on Mount Lingshan are not in good condition this year."
Zhou Zhilu frowned and asked, "What about the reason for the disappearance? Hasn't the Buddhist sect been able to find out?"
Hui Ke shook his head and said, "I don't know either. I only know that Master and his uncles have been searching for the cause. But the result is beyond the knowledge of a little monk like me."
Zhou Zhilu didn't ask any more questions after hearing this, but he kept the matter in mind.
Lingshan is divided into thirty-six layers. Above the thirty-first layer is where the Buddha and Bodhisattva reside, and this time everyone is going to the twenty-seventh layer.
Along the way, Zhou Zhilu would use his clear and bright spiritual eyes to observe his surroundings from time to time, but he did not find any monks contaminated with black spiritual energy.
When passing the 25th floor, everyone happened to see a donor wearing a wide-belted cassock standing not far away arguing with someone.
The monk had handsome features, wore a wide robe and a big belt, and actually had the temperament of a Confucian scholar.
However, the monk who was arguing with him seemed a little impatient, and walked up the mountain with a wave of his hand, leaving him alone to look at the sea of clouds in the distance in silence.
"Why are you monks still quarreling? Your practice is not good enough." Fusu teased when he saw this scene.
Huike rolled his eyes at Fusu, then looked at the monk with complicated eyes and introduced him, "That's Venerable Fusheng."
As Huike finished speaking, everyone looked at each other.
Zhou Zhilu was surprised and asked, "He is Master Fusheng?"
Although his temperament is quite elegant, he is still more ordinary than everyone imagines.
Hui Ke asked doubtfully, "Do you know Venerable Fusheng?"
Zhou Zhilu covered it up and said, "I've only heard about him occasionally. I heard that he holds a high position in the Buddhist world, is a disciple of the Holy Buddha, and is highly respected by others."
Zhou Zhilu deliberately made a mistake and waited for Huike to correct him.
As expected, Huike sighed and said, "The Venerable's generation is indeed very high, but in the Buddhist world... well, his philosophy is different from ours.
"The new Buddhist teachings that the Buddhist disciples advocated were proposed by Venerable Fusheng, but they also encountered a lot of criticism and exclusion because of this."
Zhou Zhilu asked curiously, "Then I wonder if Master Huike stands on the side of the new Buddhism or the old Buddhism?"
Huike was stunned and said, "Amitabha, my cultivation is still shallow and I still don't understand much about the old Buddhist teachings. How can I dare to promote the new teachings?"
Having said that, he said no more.
Zhou Zhilu turned to look at Fusheng, with a golden light flashing in his eyes, intending to check his spiritual energy.
However, in Zhou Zhilu's field of vision, he only saw the Buddha's light shining around Venerable Fusheng, and his eyes were filled with golden light, which made it impossible to look directly at him.
Venerable Fusheng felt something and turned to look at Zhou Zhilu.
In an instant, the Buddha's light became brighter, and Zhou Zhilu's eyes became dazed. He quickly looked away and retracted his supernatural powers.
