Chapter 66 Venting

Before leaving, Tong Zhao gestured to the director, not only out of courtesy but also out of respect for the director himself.

This director is one of the better ones Tong Zhao has encountered in recent years. Despite the many rumors circulating outside, he still doesn't have any malicious intent towards him. Even when he was criticized before, it was only because of the filming itself, and it never involved anything else.

Because of her conflict with Qin Chong and various other issues, the filming was delayed for so long, and there were constant cuts and revisions in post-production. This was really unlucky for a professional and meticulous director. Fortunately, the delay costs were all borne by the investor, Geng Keli, which made Tong Zhao feel a little more at ease, at least she didn't feel so guilty.

Perhaps seeing that he hadn't caused a scene with Qin Chong and ruined the wrap party, the director's attitude was quite good when Tong Zhao said he was leaving early, and he even showed some polite concern.

Just as he was about to leave, a figure in a sharp suit walked in through the door, carrying a black overcoat. He exuded a chilling aura and slowly surveyed the entire venue, looking like he was there to cause trouble.

The voices on stage gradually subsided, and more and more people noticed Shan Song standing coldly at the door. At first, some people whispered about Shan Song's appearance and identity, but later, perhaps noticing the quiet atmosphere at the main table, or perhaps after being reminded by someone, they all wisely shut their mouths.

The lively atmosphere in the venue suddenly cooled down, and almost everyone was watching Shan Song's next reaction.

At the wrap party, no one had more say than Shan Song. Few people had even seen Shan Song before, and not everyone from the investors recognized him. Those who knew a little about the inside story might know that he was Tong Zhao's Alpha, but most people were clearly clueless.

Knowing the true nature of their relationship, the director immediately gave Tong Zhao a meaningful look.

Tong Zhao pursed her lips, walked towards Shan Song, looked at his gloomy face, and gently hooked her hand around his and shook it.

A soft gasp rippled through the crowd. Tong Zhao knew that some people didn't know the whole story and felt that any rash action would anger this Alpha who didn't look like someone to mess with at first glance.

Dan Song didn't speak. He turned to the side and, using the entrance as a cover, made sure that Tong Zhao couldn't be seen from inside. Then, he silently draped his coat over Tong Zhao's shoulders, placed his hand behind Tong Zhao's head, and half-huddled Tong Zhao in his arms.

Suddenly, Tong Zhao felt a stinging sensation in her nose and her eyes swelled uncomfortably. The suppressed grievances returned, and she didn't want to care about anything anymore. She was pulled into his arms and leaned her head against Shan Song's chest. Shan Song's clothes were a bit big, almost completely covering Tong Zhao's entire body. Her two hands were clasped together under the hem of his clothes, and they were already sweating.

After a few dozen seconds of silence, Tong Zhao sniffed, shifted her body, and raised her head.

Seeing this, Shan Song stopped patting his back and said gently, "Wait here for me for a moment, okay?"

Tong Zhao was still clutching the Dansong shirt, which was crumpled from his grip. His eyes, red like a little rabbit's, were raised. After a moment of silence, he reluctantly let go.

Dan Song softened his tone and coaxed, "Wait a moment, I'll take Zhaozhao home right away."

Seeing the person nod, Shan Song turned around, his eyes even colder than before. After surveying the venue, he easily found the most obvious camera, then looked at Qin Chong. His cold, hard voice suddenly broke the silence of the banquet hall: "Is it that I don't want to marry him, or that the Qin family doesn't want to marry him? Young Master Qin, won't you take this opportunity to explain?"

Upon hearing this, Shan Song's identity became clear, and everyone's gazes subtly swept over the two of them. This was gossip from a wealthy family! It seemed there was more to the story of an illegitimate child stealing his brother's fiancé than met the eye; they were here to settle scores.

Qin Chong felt uneasy under the watchful gaze. It was true that Shan Song had warned him once not to provoke Tong Zhao again, but he always thought that the public opinion was a bit out of control at the time, which allowed Shan Song to hear the news. Tong Zhao then added fuel to the fire and coaxed people into giving him a chance.

But seeing how protective Shan Song is of people now, it's hard to tell what he's really planning. Besides, Shan Song has already been kicked out of the Zhou family, so why does he still dare to be so high-profile? Qin Chong has his doubts, but his years of crisis awareness tell him that it's best to listen to his older brother for now.

Qin Siyuan had warned Qin Chong to be careful of Shan Song, so Qin Chong didn't dare reveal even the slightest bit of information about Shan Song when creating public opinion. There had been no movement before, but unexpectedly, today, simply dealing with Tong Zhao had also provoked this person.

"Mr. Shan, I misspoke. The marriage was agreed upon by both families. I just wanted to express that my brother was willing to marry into the Zhou family." Qin Chong put away his smile and apologized to everyone: "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought up family matters today and taken up everyone's time. I will punish myself with a drink."

Qin Chong, talking to himself, tilted his head back and drank the entire cup of wine in one gulp.

When Qin Chong looked up, Shan Song had already walked to the table. Qin Chong's pupils shrank, and his eyes instantly became alert.

At the wrap party, there was no shortage of drinks. Shan Song slightly bowed, reached out and turned the table, and an unopened bottle of Wuliangye was placed directly opposite Qin Chong. He glanced at Qin Chong with a condescending expression and said nothing.

No one at the table dared to speak at this moment. Qin Chong braced himself and, unable to find a suitable container, poured himself a full glass of wine. After drinking the glass, sweat instantly broke out on his forehead.

Qin Chong tried his best to smile and gesture towards Shan Song, but Shan Song remained unmoved until the second cup, the third cup...

Qin Chong could no longer maintain his proper composure, so Shan Song looked away, poured himself a glass, and toasted the director: "Director, I apologize for disturbing you today. Congratulations on the successful completion of filming. I will definitely give you my full support in your future productions."

Seeing this, the director breathed a sigh of relief, raised his glass, and replied, "Mr. Shan, you're too kind. I look forward to future collaborations."

It would be foolish not to make money when there's opportunity. Anyway, we've got a sponsor for the next film, so let the wrap party be ruined...

Shan Song nodded: "Then I'll take my leave."

After saying that, he didn't give anyone else a second glance and strode out.

"Zhaozhao, let's go." Shan Song reached out a hand and took her hand.

He then took the scarf and hat from Wenwen and wrapped them up properly.

Tong Zhao's eyes were covered, but they weren't as red as before. Shan Song leaned over and kissed her: "You look so beautiful even when you cry."

Tong Zhao had just peeked at Shan Song venting his anger for him, which had eased his mood considerably. Hearing Shan Song's deliberately teasing tone, he burst out laughing.

Shan Song hugged him tightly and quickly shoved him into the car: "We just caught a few paparazzi outside. I don't know if there are any left now. If there are any photos or anything, Qi Yan will handle the public relations."

"Should we invest some money in him as well?"

Shan Song smiled and said, "Did you hear that?"

Tong Zhao tilted her head, thinking about what Shan Song had said to the director at the end, and asked, "Didn't you mean to invest money in the director?"

Tong Zhao had taken off her hat and scarf, and her little face was rosy; she looked incredibly well-behaved.

Dan Song was deeply moved: "Yeah, didn't Zhao Zhao say the director is great? I'll support whoever treats my wife well."

"That's terrible. From now on, everyone will have to treat me well because they're generous investors."

"Isn't that perfect?" Shan Song gazed tenderly at Tong Zhao's opening and closing mouth: "That way, Zhao Zhao can walk sideways on the set without anyone daring to question her."

Tong Zhao thought about that scene and felt a little uncomfortable. She laughed and said, "Then everyone will be afraid of me."

"Zhaozhao doesn't like it?"

Tong Zhao shook her head.

"Would that make your wife happier?"

Tong Zhao stared blankly at Shan Song, who continued to gaze at him tenderly.

His facial expressions deflated like a punctured balloon, revealing his true state.

Dan Song wasn't too surprised. He reached out and put his arm around the person. The back seat was spacious, so he simply put the person on his lap and shook them like a koala, muttering, "They don't seem very happy. I need to coax them a bit more."
