Chapter 126: Dream Wedding They stood in the memory and looked towards the sky of others...

In the Anchor Cabin of Time, Wen Yi and Gu Yifeng stood facing each other, ready.

She took a deep breath, her fingertips unconsciously stroking the quantum headphones in her ears.

"After careful consideration, I've decided to head to Yuexi Mountain," she whispered to Gu Yifeng. "I'm more familiar with the terrain there. There are several hidden paths that can evade the mountain guards and quickly reach the courtyard where I lived as a child. And..." she thought for a moment, then added, "I'm confident I can distract Wen Chi for a while, facilitating your actions."

Gu Yifeng held her in his arms, without responding immediately, but lowered his eyes slightly, as if weighing something.

Xu Xiaoyi's voice boomed from the control center: "Energy storage full, ready for transmission." He glanced at the monitor screen and warned with a stern tone, "Remember, both of you! Although this is a memory artifact and not the real timeline, the rules of space and time still apply."

"First, do not look directly at your past self. If your memory becomes illogical, you will be forcibly erased."

"Second, you are entering a 'memory event,' not a revisable script. Your actions must maintain the complete closed loop of memory, otherwise the afterimage will collapse."

After Xu Xiaoyi finished speaking, he decisively pressed the start button.

Buzz——

With the humming sound of the Time Anchor activating, the entire laboratory began to resonate. Dazzling blue light flickered wildly, and ripples spread through the air, distorting the boundaries of space.

Before the light swallowed everything, she whispered to him, "If everything goes well, we'll try to enter the room after she falls asleep to avoid disturbing her..."

Before he finished speaking——

The whole world suddenly fell into darkness.

She closed her eyes and immersed herself in the familiar memory - Yuexi Mountain fifteen years ago. That year, she had not yet gone down the mountain with her parents, and she was still her original self.

Her consciousness floated in the void like a gossamer. She was pulled by the invisible gravity, passing through countless intersecting light cones, and finally fell into a glittering space and time.

When she opened her eyes again, she should have smelled the familiar scent of pine resin from Moon Gap Mountain. But what passed through her nose was a rich, cold fragrance interwoven with grass and roses.

She raised her hand to block the glaring sunlight, her vision slowly returning to normal in the smudge of light that filtered through her fingers. Beneath her feet lay endless greenery, manicured as smooth as a carpet. She subconsciously took a step forward, stepping onto the soft grass. The dew-soaked blades dampened the tips of her shoes.

A melodious violin sound came to her ears, and she turned her head to look. An orchestra was sitting under the flower stand, with bows and strings moving lightly.

Where on earth is this? She looked up at the distance and suddenly her breath stopped.

“So many people!” - There were crowds of people in front of me. Guests dressed in their best were standing in groups of three or four, talking in low voices.

The dress rustled, the skirt swayed, and the wine glasses clinked lightly, making crisp and crisp sounds.

Wen Yi turned slowly, bewildered. Before her was an artificial lake, its clear waters reflecting the blue sky and the arched bridge. Roses and vines entwined into an archway on the shore, white veils fluttering in the breeze. A long table was covered with silver satin. A champagne tower shone in the sunlight, and the desserts were arranged in an exquisite, picturesque manner.

In the distance, a glass-domed church stands quietly.

This wasn't Yuexi Mountain. It wasn't her childhood. It wasn't the house she and Gu Yifeng once lived in.

A romantic and grand wedding is being held here with beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains.

She finally realized something was wrong.

"Wait, what is this for me?"

Xu Xiaoyi's voice came from the quantum headset: "Coordinates confirmed, it's Yunhu East Suburb Manor."

"You are at the wedding day of Wen Yi and Gu Yifeng."

"Impossible!" Wen Yi said anxiously, "I went back to Yuexi Mountain fifteen years ago to look for my childhood self... What the hell is going on?! Shouldn't it enter my memory shadow?!"

She turned to Gu Yifeng suddenly, her eyes full of doubt, "Did we...take the wrong path?"

"The essence of a memory remnant is a remembered timeline," Xu Xiaoyi said slowly. "Only a strong emotional resonance can activate the dormant 'time remnant'. Do you think you are choosing to enter a certain memory?"

"It is memory that chooses you."

"Whoever has deeper memories, stronger obsession, will dominate the afterimage. The Time Anchor is just a tool. The memory afterimage is restarted by love."

Wen Yi was startled and subconsciously retorted: "But I don't have any memory of this wedding."

"I have."

This time it was Gu Yifeng who spoke.

He stood beside her, his eyes looking into the distance, his voice low and firm: "This is a memory I once had."

Wen Yi followed his gaze and saw a man in a black tuxedo in the glass church, with his back to them, greeting the guests. He was obviously the protagonist of the wedding - the groom, Director Gu.

"So..." Wen Yi's voice trembled, "What we entered was not my memory, but Gu Yifeng's memory?"

"Yes," Xu Xiaoyi answered simply. "His memory of this moment is far stronger than any fragment of your memory of Moon Gap Mountain. This wedding is the most emotionally intense anchor point in his life."

The two fell into silence. The sweet aroma of champagne and flowers floated in the air, but at this moment it made people feel inexplicably suffocated.

After a while, Wen Yi resigned herself to her fate and spoke first: "Alright, now that we're here... Since this is your memory, do you know where 'her', I mean the current Mrs. Gu, is?"

Gu Yifeng hesitated for a moment, his eyes sweeping across the distant church: "The wedding hasn't started yet. According to the procedure, she should be putting on makeup in the bridal preparation room now."

"Then let's split up." She quickly made a plan. "You go get her blood sample. I'll wait for you in a deserted corner."

Gu Yifeng nodded: "I know the route. From here, we can go around the artificial lake and take the east service passage. It won't attract attention."

He raised his hand and pointed to a small white two-story building behind the glass church. "That's the bridal preparation room. I'll try to sneak in and find her. You go around to the passage behind the small white building. Once I successfully obtain the sample, we'll meet there."

Wen Yi nodded immediately: "I understand." She glanced at the crowd and whispered: "Be careful too, don't run into 'him'."

Gu Yifeng replied calmly: "Don't worry, I know where he will appear."

They looked at each other, and without saying anything, they turned and walked to the east, quietly disappearing into the gap of this grand wedding.

Passing through a long service corridor, a small white European-style building appeared before his eyes. Pushing open the heavy carved wooden door, Gu Yifeng walked straight inside. On this short path, he met many relatives and friends who kept urging him to hurry up and get ready. He nodded in greeting one by one, smiling and nodding in agreement.

Gu Yifeng walked up the spiral staircase in his leather shoes, step by step towards the bridal preparation room on the second floor.

The door at the end of the corridor stood quietly—the bride of his memories, so close. His heartbeat began to accelerate, and he couldn't tell whether it was excitement or nervousness. Every step he took seemed to bring him closer to happiness, but in reality, they were further and further away from perfection, and fate repeatedly pushed her into the distant unknown.

He couldn't be sure whether this plan would succeed.

Can they still wait for the day when happiness comes?

Just when he was only one step away from the door, the door on the right was pushed open with a creak.

Yu Qing walked out of the bathroom and closed the door casually. When she turned around, she saw Gu Yifeng standing in front of her. Her eyes lit up, and then she was slightly stunned.

"Xiaofeng?" she asked in disbelief. "Why are you here? Aren't you preparing in the auditorium?"

Gu Yifeng paused and quickly turned sideways, trying to hide his nervousness: "Mom, I need to talk to Yiyi about something, please move aside."

"Wait, come here and let me take a look." Yu Qing narrowed his eyes and looked him up and down, his brows furrowed tighter and tighter. "Where's your suit? Why did you change clothes out of the blue? What are you doing?"

Not wanting to cause any complications, Gu Yifeng was about to make a detour when Yu Qing suddenly widened her eyes and raised her voice: "You...are you trying to run away from your marriage?!"

Gu Yifeng paused: "..."

He quickly glanced around, fortunately no one was paying attention. He lowered his voice to explain, "What nonsense are you talking about? I'm not running away from my marriage, not running away from my marriage. I need to find Yi Yi for something, it will be over soon."

"No!" Yu Qing stepped in front of him, "Do you know that according to custom, the groom can't see the bride before the wedding?! This is the rule! If you break the rule, your marriage will not be smooth!"

Gu Yifeng was stunned, not knowing whether to laugh or cry: "Mom!"

"Feudal superstitions are a bad thing!" He patiently explained, "This is really an important matter. I'll leave after I finish speaking."

"No!" Yu Qing stood in front of the door, his eyes determined. "Go back to the auditorium! Stand where you belong! We'll see each other again when the ceremony starts!"

As she spoke, she pushed him out forcefully: "Go away, don't make things worse! I know you're anxious, but don't worry! Today is your big day, don't mess it up! Do you hear me?!"

Gu Yifeng was pushed back two steps, watching the door that held the bride get farther and farther away. But pushing here would only attract more attention. He sighed inwardly, suppressed his anxious emotions, and turned around and went downstairs helplessly.

Anyway, there was still time, so he could go out for a walk and avoid his mother first. He remembered that there was a safe passage at the back door that could allow him to re-enter the small white building.

He quickly walked around the flower bed in front of the door, but the next second -

Familiar sounds of laughter came from far away.

Gu Yifeng paused.

Ni Qianfan walked in front, holding a glass of champagne. Gao Yiyuan's smile was still frozen on his face. Ye Min's pupils shrank slightly, and she was stunned on the spot.

The sky was blue, white clouds were white, a gentle breeze blew across their faces, and sunlight filtered through the branches, dappling their faces, yet it couldn't penetrate the eerie silence. The four of them stood there in silence, as if frozen in time.

Gao Yiyuan was the first to react. He scratched his slightly curly bangs and said hesitantly, "Boss? Aren't you in the auditorium? Why... are you dressed like this?"

Ni Qianfan squinted his eyes, glancing at the inappropriate coat draped casually over his arm, and asked tentatively, "Old Gu, why did you come out from over there? What happened? Do you need help?"

Gu Yifeng remained calm and composed, "Nothing, I just came to see how she's preparing." He leaned slightly to the side and raised his hand to signal, "Go back to the hall, the wedding is about to begin."

The three of them were skeptical and were about to leave when Ye Min suddenly spoke, "Teacher Gu." She looked straight into his eyes with a respectful expression, as if she was just reporting on her work.

"I have completed what you asked me to do. What do you want me to do next?"

Gao Yiyuan was stunned.

Ni Qianfan's eyes moved slightly and he looked at Gu Yifeng.

The air suddenly solidified.
