Chapter 97: He dragged Wen Yi into the woods like prey...
The next morning, the light was dim.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Wen Yi lowered her eyes to look at the small bag of luggage on the bed.
She doesn't have much.
She didn't actually have any luggage; these were all bought for her by Gu Yifeng. She hadn't refused at the time, but now thinking about it, perhaps it was a tacit acceptance of her greed. Taking them away now was simply a way to keep them as a memory.
The moment she left, she couldn't help but miss him.
When the door closed last night, she didn't look back. But she knew how much he was reluctant to leave. She also wanted to spend more time with him, but unfortunately, she couldn't get her wish.
She had a hunch that Geng Jun would not give up easily.
After a day of hard work, Wen Yi finally settled into her temporary home near dusk. As she was tidying up, her phone suddenly lit up with a new message:
"Auntie, I'll be waiting for you in the woods behind the school. If you have anything to say, let's talk in person."
——Guo Qingyu
Wen Yi frowned.
Guo Qingyu asked her to meet him? In that forest?
No matter how you look at it, it looks like a trap.
She stared at the line of words, her fingertips gently stroking the edge of the phone. Her eyes changed from initial vigilance to a deep one, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of her mouth.
He was anxious.
Coincidentally, she didn't want to wait any longer.
She didn't reply to the message, but turned and headed straight for school. Before leaving, she didn't forget to take a folding knife with her.
When Wen Yi arrived at the school gate, the crowd of students was beginning to pour out, groups of students chatting and laughing as they passed. She stood in the shadows of the sycamore tree, her eyes scanning every figure in school uniform.
When the crowd dispersed, she still hadn't seen Guo Qingyu show up.
It seems that he was most likely taken away.
Wen Yi was about to leave when a girl with a long ponytail approached her from a distance. Her dark blue school uniform skirt lifted slightly, and her features were delicate, yet her expression was tense, like a frightened bird.
She stopped in front of Wen Yi tremblingly and whispered, "Auntie, are you...looking for Guo Qingyu?"
Wen Yi: ...
Why is it Auntie again!
The girl quickly looked around and lowered her voice: "My name is Yao Xiaoyu. Guo Qingyu asked me to come find you."
Wen Yi's eyes moved slightly.
Yao Xiaoyu?
Who is it? Does she know him?
"Where are the others?" Wen Yi watched her performance quietly.
"He doesn't dare go home." Yao Xiaoyu's voice trembled slightly. "Since yesterday, he said someone was watching him outside the school."
Wen Yi also played along, pretending to be surprised and asking, "Why would he tell you?"
"Because... we are good friends." Yao Xiaoyu lowered her head. "I am the only one who knows where he is."
Wen Yi pinched her chin and said seriously, "Then you should call the police instead of looking for me."
Yao Xiaoyu was startled, then shook her head and explained, "The police said they couldn't intervene without solid evidence."
The wind blew past her ears, and Wen Yi was silent for a moment. She remembered that Geng Jun would always escape legal punishment no matter what, and this matter might not be easy to solve by relying on the police. She pondered for a few seconds and finally said, "Take me there."
Yao Xiaoyu breathed a sigh of relief and turned around to lead the way.
Under the dim streetlights, a few cars were parked sporadically on the empty road. The two walked hurriedly into the distance, one in front of the other. Wen Yi watched the slender figure melt into the twilight, feeling a sense of déjà vu.
Where had I seen her before?
Just as they passed a white van, the side sliding door of the car suddenly opened with a "whoosh".
Wen Yi subconsciously turned her head - in the dark carriage, the man was sitting crookedly, grinning, with his index finger raised in front of his lips, making a "hush" gesture.
It was Geng Jun.
Wen Yi didn't scream or retreat. She turned around and gave Yao Xiaoyu a cold look, signaling her to stop. Then she turned to look directly at Geng Jun: "Where is he?"
Geng Jun was stunned for a moment, then grinned grimly: "Don't worry, I'll take you back soon."
He was just about to arrest someone.
"Don't do it, I'll go with you." She took a step back and raised her hand to stop him, "I'll get in the car by myself."
She calmly got into the car and sat down in the corner. Looking at the two people who were slightly stunned, she knocked on the car window impatiently: "Are you going to leave or not? Hurry up!"
Geng Jun gave Yao Xiaoyu a look, telling her to leave quickly. He slammed the car door shut and pulled out the rope he had prepared: "Be smart." She didn't struggle as the rope came around, letting her wrists and legs be bound tightly. Fortunately, the knife she had hidden on her body wasn't discovered.
Everything was as expected.
As early as the moment Yao Xiaoyu came to her door, she knew it was a trap. But Guo Qingyu was in their hands, so she had to come.
The car started up quickly and moved forward with a bumpy ride. Wen Yi didn't care where to go. She thought it would be better to go to a remote place. After she rescued Guo Qingyu, the stupid teammate, it would be easier to deal with the body. It would benefit both herself and others.
Having her hands tied was very uncomfortable, Wen Yi tried to struggle, but she didn't move at all.
At this moment, a sinister voice came from the front: "It's really not easy to find you."
She looked up and saw Geng Jun driving in the dim light.
In the rearview mirror, his hideous face with scowl-shaped eyebrows, triangular eyes, vicious eyes and untidy beard was reflected, which looked even more eerie under the flickering street lights.
She was too lazy to talk to the dead.
Geng Jun stared at her in the mirror. Seeing that she looked calm and not at all panicked, he couldn't help but speak again: "Aren't you going to ask me why I arrested you?"
Wen Yi rolled her eyes inwardly. This guy talks too much. Honestly, if I told him what happened to the first person who kidnapped her, I'd probably scare him to death.
But she still looked up cooperatively and said perfunctorily: "Ah, then what are you going to do with me?"
Geng Jun heard her teasing and laughed out loud: "You're quite courageous, little bitch! Don't cry and beg me later."
After the car stopped, the door opened with a "clatter". Geng Jun reached out and grabbed her hair, then roughly dragged her out of the car.
Wen Yi gasped in pain and was forced to stumble forward with her head held high.
The flashlight illuminated a muddy path in the darkness, making it impossible to see what lay ahead. Wen Yi tilted her head slightly to get a better look, but the light was too dim. She could only vaguely make out towering trees on either side. Insects chirped, and the shadows of the trees swayed.
The two walked on fallen leaves and across weeds, heading deep into the woods.
Wen Yi suddenly felt that this place resembled the abandoned nursery where the three bodies were buried. Was it a coincidence? Or was it inevitable? Just as she was daydreaming, her steps stopped.
The flashlight beam swung, shining towards a large tree. Guo Qingyu was tied to the trunk, his head lowered, a bloodstain on his forehead.
Hearing the noise, he slowly looked up and met Wen Yi's eyes.
The moment their eyes met, she blinked at him gently. His pupils shrank, his eyes moved slightly, and he quickly returned to his cynical look.
He pulled the corner of his mouth, his voice a little hoarse:
"Hey, Auntie."
Wen Yi sneered, still talking nonsense even when death was imminent.
"You little brat, you're still breathing."
“…How dare I die when you haven’t come yet.”
"That's fine. With you accompanying me on the road to the underworld, I won't be alone."
Geng Jun sneered and even had the leisure to gossip: "What's your relationship?"
Seeing they were silent, Geng Jun didn't have time for more. He tied Wen Yi side by side to the tree, picked up a shovel, and began digging a hole. He pounded into the soil, digging deeper and deeper. He looked very professional. He not only killed but also buried the body. The service was really good.
Wen Yi looked at the pit and suddenly smiled. She remembered that in the original timeline, Geng Jun had also been killed and buried in the pit. Back then, it was him who died. And the one who buried him was Guo Qingyu. He had also suffered violent injuries before his death. She could never understand what deep hatred Guo Qingyu had against him that would lead him to such revenge?
She turned her head and quietly looked at the boy next to her. Could it be for Yao Xiaoyu?
He has terrible vision. It's not worth getting your hands dirty for someone like him.
If she gets rid of Geng Jun now, Guo Qingyu won't have to kill people with his own hands in the future, and he can live a clean life.
Thinking of this, she looked at Guo Qingyu with a hint of kindness - you little rascal, thank your auntie quickly, your good fortune is yet to come.
Guo Qingyu noticed her gaze and felt baffled. His Adam's apple rolled and his eyes trembled. "...Auntie, please don't mess around."
Wen Yi ignored him, retracted her gaze, and looked at Geng Jun who was swinging the shovel, as if she was looking at a corpse.
And this look was seen by Geng Jun who had just dug the pit.
He stuck the shovel into the soil, wiped his hands, walked over to her, squatted down, pinched her chin, and forced her to look up:
"Aren't you afraid of me at all?"
Wen Yi raised a sneer at the corner of his mouth, neither angry nor afraid.
The contemptuous look deeply irritated Geng Jun. He narrowed his eyes and his facial expression gradually distorted.
"You're quite capable... Then today I'll let you know what regret is."
He grabbed her, the rope still untied, and dragged her deeper into the woods like prey. The moment she was pulled up, a small knife was gently thrown at Guo Qingyu's feet.
Guo Qingyu raised his head suddenly and struggled frantically, the rope cutting deeply into his hands. "What are you doing?!" His voice pierced the night. "If you have anything to say, come to me! Don't touch her!"
Wen Yi was forced to walk forward, her steps stumbling, but she didn't shout or scream, as if she was following him of her own accord. After taking a few steps, she suddenly turned around and winked at him:
"escape."
There were dead branches all over the ground, making crackling sounds when she stepped on them. The tip of a broken branch that stuck out at an angle scratched the hem of her skirt, and blood immediately flowed from her leg.
Guo Qingyu's eyes were bloodshot, he held the knife tightly in his hand, and his body was shaking.

Gu Yifeng sat quietly in front of the desk in his bedroom, with his homework piled beside him, and he did not move for a long time.
Outside the window, a night plane flew across the sky. The roar of its engine mixed with the evening breeze entered the house, coming from far away and then gradually dissipating.
The room was too quiet, so he raised his hand and opened the window a little wider. The cold wind blew in his face, causing the test paper on the corner of the table to tremble slightly, but it could not blow away the stagnation in his heart.
It had been a day since Wen Yi left. When she left, out of a youthful pride, he didn't bow his head to try to keep her. Deep down, he didn't believe they would truly break up. He'd thought that if only the misunderstandings were resolved, they could be together again. Until now, his dream had been shattered, and he shed tears for the first time in a long time.
Suddenly, the air trembled slightly.
The light above the desk began to distort, like a reflection in water being stirred by an invisible hand. Ripples spread out from the void, shimmering with a faint blue light, as if a crack in space and time had been torn open by some resonant frequency.
He looked up suddenly, his pupils shrinking slightly - in the center of the ripples, a piece of paper slowly emerged and fell silently on the table, as if it had fallen from another time and space.
He sat there stiffly, his heart pounding like a drum. After a long moment, he reached out and picked it up.
After seeing the words clearly, his breath hitched. The handwriting... was his, but the note was not written by him.
The same pen stroke direction, the same habit of pausing, but just more steady and sophisticated.
He looked up suddenly, and the ripples had quietly dissipated, as if they had never existed. But the note was still in his palm, truly belonging to this time and space.
Gu Yifeng stared at the line of words, his Adam's apple rolling violently, shock still in his eyes. The next second, he stood up suddenly, and the chair made a harsh sound on the ground.
He rushed out of the door and dialed the phone while running. His voice was hoarse but clear:
"Dad... Yi Yi is in trouble! Bring someone here quickly!"
