Chapter 136: The Evil of Cults

Chapter 136: The Evil of Cults

Soon, Du Yunzhang brought Clark to Yin Chuan and Lin Lang. Clark was still a little dissatisfied and muttered something in foreign language.

"What is he muttering?" Yin Chuan asked Linlang.

"He said we had to act rogue to capture them, otherwise it wouldn't have been so easy to break in."

Du Yunzhang was furious when he heard this. "What? Still not convinced? How long do you, a bunch of rabble, plan to occupy this place? If we didn't want to suffer any losses, we would have occupied this shabby church yesterday!"

Yin Chuan felt that there was no point in arguing with him, so he simply asked directly: "Mr. Clark, during the two days that you and your congregants have been in the church, have you entered or changed the layout of this confessional? Or moved anything inside?"

Although Clark understood Yin Chuan's question, Linlang still translated it word for word. Clark tried to remain silent, but Du Yunzhang glared at him, slapping and kicking him at every turn. A wise man never gives in to a loss. Since their questions weren't crucial, he decided to tell them everything he knew.

"Because there was a broken limb in that confessional, even though the items inside had been removed, we still felt that it might affect the effectiveness of the sacrifice to Satan, so we cleaned the entire confessional with water."

"Is this where the water you use comes from?" Linlang pointed to the water trough that Yin Chuan had just built with bamboo tubes.

"Yes, that's it."

"Are you averse to offering human limbs to Satan? Doesn't your Satan love human sacrifices the most?" Yin Chuan raised a more pointed question.

Clark shook his head and said, "Your understanding of Satan is still too superficial. Satan exists to expose God's hypocrisy, not to spread evil as secular people falsely claim. We Satanists have our own independent doctrines... anyway, you wouldn't understand them. In short, we won't easily use living people for sacrifice. Even if Satan ordered that the gods need human sacrifices, we would not use severed limbs as sacrifices. That would be blasphemy against Satan."

"Nonsense! How do you explain those children who were killed by you?" Du Yunzhang shouted angrily.

Clark, as if deeply wronged, insisted, "We absolutely did not kill those children! We did capture them to sacrifice to Satan, but as I said, Satan would not easily accept human sacrifices. We captured them simply to release their virgin blood, the purest sacrifice. Of course, we would never take their lives directly."

"You're talking nonsense! How come none of them survived? And four children have lost a limb?" Du Yunzhang shouted angrily.

"How many children have you kidnapped in the village?" Yin Chuan asked.

"Ten at most."

"Really only ten?"

"I don't need to lie about this. It's ten."

Du Yunzhang leaned close to Yin Chuan's ear and whispered, "Ten should be correct."

Yin Chuan frowned and did not answer, as if he was thinking about something.

"Let me ask you a question," Linlang, who was standing next to him, asked her own question after seeing Yin Chuan didn't ask any more questions. "Where did you hide the two severed limbs at the back door of the hospital and on the top of the banyan tree?"

"I……"

Clark hesitated for a moment, and Du Yunzhang slapped him in the face, making him scream.

"You deserve a beating! Tell me the truth!"

Clark hesitantly replied, "It's...it's in the hospital morgue."

"Morgue? We didn't find those two limbs there?" Yin Chuan asked in confusion.

"There's a secret room on the left, opposite the entrance."

Yin Chuan then remembered that the secret room was where Luo Mei was imprisoned. When he and Lin Lang searched the morgue, they went directly into the secret passage on the right, and did not search the secret room on the left.

"Call a brother and go to that room to get the two severed limbs." Yin Chuan said to Du Yunzhang.

"No, I'll go myself! I want to see if what he said is true or not. If it's true, then it's fine. But if it's false," he said, touching the mirror box at his waist, "I'll just flip his head off!"

After saying this, he walked straight down the stairs behind the confessional and headed towards the secret passage.

Linlang asked in confusion, "Since it's been confirmed that there were ten children killed, and four of them were missing a limb each, doesn't that mean the four severed limbs found are theirs? Why is it so necessary to find them?"

Yin Chuan shook his head. "I always feel like there's something fishy going on here. Why does Clark deny killing these children? If he's already at loggerheads with us, why is he being so stubborn?"

"So what do you think the truth is?"

Yin Chuan didn't answer directly, but muttered to himself: "What was the purpose of the person who stole the two severed limbs from Doctor Yun's house? Who could that person be?"

"Brother Yin, what did you say?"

"Oh... nothing. Why hasn't Du Yunzhang come back yet?" Yin Chuan laughed.

"Didn't he just leave a while ago?"

Linlang saw that Yin Chuan was a little uneasy and wondered what he was thinking about.

Not long after, Du Yunzhang returned to the church in a hurry, carrying two long sacks on his shoulders.

"This kid is quite honest and didn't lie. The things are in the cabinet in that room." As he said that, he placed the sack in front of Yin Chuan and Linlang. When they unfolded it, there was a right arm and a left leg inside.

Although Yin Chuan and Lin Lang had been mentally prepared, they couldn't help but feel a little frightened when they saw the two severed limbs in front of them.

"Look at these two severed limbs... they seem to be no different from the other two. They are basically children's." Linlang said after taking a look.

"Old Du, let's take the bodies of the two children who are missing their right arms and left legs from the East and West districts to compare and see if they are theirs." Yin Chuan said to Du Yunzhang.

Although I don’t understand why Yin Chuan is so persistent in strictly comparing the severed limbs with the body to see if they match, it is obvious that these children with amputated limbs correspond one to one to these severed limbs, but since Yin Chuan wants to compare, he must have his purpose.

The four mutilated bodies were placed on a reed mat next to the Cao Gang's camp at the edge of the village. As it had been raining, a tarpaulin tent was built on top to prevent the bodies from getting soaked.

Yin Chuan and the others brought the severed limbs to the bottom of the shed, and Du Yunzhang attached the right arm and left leg to the bodies of the children who were missing them. The one missing the right arm was a boy who looked to be about ten years old, and the one missing the left leg was a girl of about his height.

The comparison results were as expected. Although the severed limbs were somewhat difficult to match up exactly due to decay, it was still possible to roughly see that the right arms and left legs belonged to both children.

"Oh, can you rest assured now?" Du Yunzhang said to Yin Chuan with a smile.

Yin Chuan frowned and took another closer look. "Wait!" he suddenly said, then grabbed the boy's right arm. "What is this?"
