Chapter 12 Brother Fu really likes you.

Fu Jinxiao sat in the main seat. He did not answer immediately, but instead picked up Jian Xingsui's information card again.

Liu Shuang said from the side, "Let's sort this out first. First of all, this child's purpose is impure. He came to this stage not to perform, but for money."

Teacher Li agreed: "And there's one thing about him. To be honest, his singing ability isn't particularly outstanding. He's just good at expressing emotions and has a strong ability to convey emotions. But look at a student who was previously rated as F class. His singing ability was also quite good. So why was he rated as F? It's because he can't dance."

Liu Shuang nodded: "I think B is definitely out of the question, he's not a good dancer, F is about right."

Tuya frowned and said, "I don't think we can just focus on his weaknesses."

The opinions of the group could not be agreed upon again.

This is quite a rare occurrence; it may be the first time since the show's inception that a contestant has caused such a significant disagreement among the mentors.

Everyone's attention then turned to Fu Jinxiao.

Tuya asked curiously, "What does Teacher Fu think?"

Fu Jinxiao put down the paper in his hand. He was the least talkative among the group, but when he spoke, everyone would stop and hold their breath to listen to him. He raised an eyebrow slightly and slowly said, "If you say his motives are impure, what about the others?"

Liu Shuang said, "Everyone else loves the stage and wants to debut..."

"If you love the stage so much, why don't you just go dance in the square?" Fu Jinxiao smiled. "What are you doing at Starlight?"

It's not absolute, but most people come to the stage hoping to become big stars, make big money, gain fame, and shine. One earns big money, the other earns small money. How much more noble is one of the two?

“Besides…” Fu Jinxiao trailed off, lifting his eyelids to glance at the anxious child on stage: “Whether he is serious about his purpose on stage or not, it’s fine as long as he is serious about this song.”

With just a few words, Actor Fu's attitude was made clear.

Tuya smiled unconsciously. Having Fu Jinxiao's support felt like having a strong backer, which made her stand up straight: "I also think that his singing is very touching. I think he is a very talented child. It would be a great pity if he were to go to Class F or be eliminated. Moreover, given time, I think he can do even better."

Liu Shuang sighed: "So what do you mean?"

Several people were glancing at Fu Jinxiao, seemingly unintentionally. This revealed the hierarchy among the group, as everyone was waiting for him to make his decision.

Jian Xingsui on stage was also heartbroken from waiting. Not only him, but all the other contestants who hadn't yet performed were also quite anxious. They were exchanging thoughts privately:

"What level is this?"

"B, it's B, right?"

I think F

"If I can only get an F if I sing like this, then I'm doomed."

"Oh my god, I'm so nervous."

The discussion was incredibly heated. Even Jian Xingsui's roommate, Wen Shengge, leaned over to Shen Xingchen and whispered, "Brother Chen, what level do you think he'll give us?"

Shen Xingchen may not be able to say anything else, but the Shen family and the Fu family have a deep friendship. Once, Shen Xingchen's mother even joked that if there was another young child, she would marry him to Fu Jinxiao, so that the two families could be united by marriage. As a result, there was indeed a young child, but he died shortly after birth. This matter became a taboo in the Shen family, and no one dared to mention it.

Although the marriage alliance did not materialize, the two families maintained their friendship. In particular, his elder brother Shen Minglang had a close relationship with Fu Jinxiao, so Shen Xingchen sometimes understood Fu Jinxiao.

Upon hearing Wen Shenge's question, Shen Xingchen replied, "I think it depends on the situation."

Wen Shengge: "What do you mean?"

"Brother Fu probably won't give me a very high score," Shen Xingchen replied.

Wen Shenge asked, somewhat puzzled, "Why?"

Before Shen Xingchen could speak, Mr. Li, the host on the stage not far away, had already received the results. Holding the microphone, he coughed lightly a few times: "Okay, now let's announce the results. Jian Xingsui, your final grade is..."

The lights in the room suddenly went out.

Teacher Li, who was speaking normally, paused. His suspenseful behavior was driving everyone crazy, and many people were on tenterhooks.

Jian Xingsui's hand tightened on the microphone. Teacher Li smiled slightly and continued, "Congratulations, your grade is C."

The crowd erupted in uproar.

Regarding this result, some people think it's too high, some think it's too low, and some think Jian Xingsui really got lucky, getting a C just by singing a song without dancing.

Jian Xingsui on the stage was taken aback at first, then bowed and said, "Thank you, teacher."

Tuya picked up the microphone and said, "This result is the result of our discussion. There's a reason why we rated you at this level. Do you want to know?"

Jian Xingsui replied sincerely, "I want to."

Tuya fell silent and glanced sideways at Fu Jinxiao.

Fu Yingdi hadn't planned to speak, but since Tuya had already said so, he picked up the microphone. This was his first face-to-face conversation with Jian Xingsui, and his voice was languid and refined: "Do you know why you're only a C-cup?"

This word itself is quite subtle.

The subtext is that I think your ability shouldn't just be a C, but could be higher.

Those present were all discerning people, and they immediately understood the true meaning of those words. As a result, many people looked at Jian Xingsui with a hint of envy.

"Because your mindset towards this stage is wrong." Fu Jinxiao said slowly and deliberately, seeing Jian Xingsui's nervous appearance. "The mindset I'm talking about isn't about participating for the sake of 20,000 yuan."

Jian Xingsui was puzzled. He didn't understand what it could be if it wasn't because of the 20,000 yuan.

Fu Jinxiao said, "Your problem is that when you went on stage, you weren't performing with the mindset of winning, but rather with the thought that you would be eliminated."

Jian Xingsui wanted to finish the show in one episode. Although he had given his all on this stage, he didn't perform with the mindset of winning, but rather with the mindset of losing. A person who respects the stage, a person who has already participated in the competition, should perform with the mindset of winning and with a strong belief. It would be wrong to present to the audience with the mindset of just getting through one episode. Fu Jinxiao's strictness is well-known in the industry, and this time was no exception.

"Since we've stepped onto this stage, and since we have opponents, no matter how strong they are, we must approach them with the mindset of crushing them." Fu Jinxiao's affectionate phoenix eyes always seemed gentle, making it difficult to discern his true feelings in most situations. However, at this moment, as he spoke with Jian Xingsui, the coldness in his eyes was revealed.

His aura was very powerful. He was usually gentle and mild-mannered, which already inspired awe. But once he turned serious, the atmosphere in the room became subdued, and no one dared to speak. Even Jian Xingsui on the stage felt a chill in her heart.

But as Fu Jinxiao put down the microphone, a slight smile played on her lips as she slowly and deliberately said her last sentence: "After all, I never taught you how to lose."

This sentence seemed a bit nonsensical, and others couldn't understand it, but for some reason, Jian Xingsui suddenly seemed to understand Fu Yingdi's meaning without any instruction.

Because Fu Jinxiao is someone who never admits defeat.

His works and his demeanor convey to his fans and others a spirit of courage and fearlessness.

So how can you be a coward, kid? I never taught you how to lose.

Holding the microphone, Jian Xingsui spoke somewhat incoherently, trying to organize his thoughts. In the end, a thousand words stuck in his throat. Because he was not good with words, he didn't know what to say to express his feelings, so he could only bow deeply and say earnestly, "Thank you, teacher."

Tuya smiled, picked up the microphone, and said as if to comfort the child, "Don't be discouraged. Have some confidence in yourself. Confidence is the most important thing. Your song is great. I look forward to your future performances. We all look forward to it."

Teacher Li also said, "Young man, this 20,000 yuan is not easy to earn. You'll have to work harder."

Jian Xingsui was amused by his mentors, and he bowed again, saying, "Thank you, teachers. I will work hard."

The viewers in the live stream were also the most attentive to this contestant's performance:

"This young man is actually quite good."

"Actually, I think he could get a B."

"He's a B? An Ran is only a B, don't compare him to her."

"He can't even dance. If I gave him a B, I'd suspect he's the emperor."

After Jian Xingsui returned, the rest of the group began another round of performances. This time, the stage production progressed very quickly, and they hadn't finished recording everyone by night. They had to go back first that night and record for another day the next day.

On the way back, Shen Xingchen complained, "I've been sitting here all day and it still hasn't been my turn."

Jian Xingsui comforted him, "Tomorrow will be your day soon."

Ning Ze, a man who was usually quiet, returned with water and spoke up for the first time: "Brother Fu is the main mentor this time. He is very strict. Many people were criticized today. There are many people in Class F. Those who can get into Class C and Class B are already considered lucky. Class A has not appeared yet. It will definitely be even more difficult for those who perform tomorrow."

In a dormitory without cameras, everyone spoke much more freely.

Wen Shengge and Shen Xingchen are from the same company, and they are performing as a group this time. She leaned over and whispered, "Brother Chen, don't be afraid of your performance tomorrow. I think your grade will definitely be A. After all, Brother Fu knows you and you have a good relationship. He definitely won't let your grade be too bad."

Shen Xingchen scoffed: "Bullshit, he would never give special treatment to anyone. I've never seen him actually favor anyone in my entire life."

The award-winning actor, known for his approachable demeanor and seemingly extensive network throughout the entertainment industry, appears to have good relationships with many people. However, the more approachable someone seems, the harder they are to get close to; some people are simply cold-hearted.

Shen Xingchen looked at the obedient Jian Xingsui beside her, took a deep breath, and said, "But I don't know why, I feel like he likes you quite a bit."

Jian Xingsui was taken aback: "Why?"

“He seems very serious, right? But didn’t you notice that he was playing with his pen the whole time during many of the performances?” Shen Xingchen said in a low voice. “He was basically half-closing his eyes to rest. He seemed to be fully focused, but once he started playing with his pen, he wasn’t paying attention to anyone at all. Even with An Ran, he only watched for a short while.”

Jian Xingsui actually didn't notice this.

“But you’re different. After you went on stage, he didn’t twirl his pen once!” Shen Xingchen looked like she was really surprised. “And I also saw him looking at your information card all the time. Have you seen him look at the other contestants’ information cards?”

Shen Xingchen: I've already seen through everything!
