Chapter 17 Brother Fu's Favorite Person

When the other members of Group A started to return one after another, Jian Xingsui went back to the dormitory to call for others.

Shen Xingchen slept for more than two and a half hours. After checking the time, he glanced at Jian Xingsui and asked, "Why didn't the alarm clock go off?"

“They just got up too, they’ll make it in time.” Jian Xingsui brought him water: “You’ve been practicing all day, don’t you want to faint in the exam room if you don’t get some more sleep?”

After taking a sip of water, Shen Xingchen looked at him and said with some surprise, "You're quite lucky. They just woke up and you woke up too."

Jian Xingsui smiled but didn't say anything.

Shen Xingchen gulped down two more mouthfuls of water, then stopped. As if suddenly realizing something, he slowly lowered the water glass, his dark eyes fixed intently on Jian Xingsui, and asked, "You're not asleep?"

Jian Xingsui quickly said, "I'm asleep, I'm really asleep."

Shen Xingchen didn't believe it: "Why is your bed still so neatly made?"

"I practiced for a while in the training room." Jian Xingsui glanced at the clock on the wall. "It seems to be five o'clock now. You should go train first. I'm going to take a nap."

Shen Xingchen guessed that some people were already preparing to perform in front of the mentors at this time, and asked him, "Aren't you going to give it a shot?"

"I don't have much of a dance background. Yesterday, I only learned half of the moves, and even that half was uncoordinated. So even if I don't sleep, I can't possibly beat others."

Class A alone has five or six dance specialists, and Class B also has several students who have been studying dance for many years.

Jian Xingsui knew she definitely couldn't win, so she didn't think about overestimating herself: "I just tried practicing in the training room, but my brain is all mush, and I can't even remember the lyrics, so I'm going to take a nap. You go train quickly, I'll wait for your good news."

Only after he said that did Shen Xingchen leave, still somewhat doubtful.

Ning Ze and Wen Shenge, who had slept for a while the night before, were also in the same dormitory. They were both in Class B. Wen Shenge and Ning Ze were both singers, but they had some dance background. They had both gotten up now and were going back to the training room with Shen Xingchen.

As Shen Xingchen walked down the corridor, she murmured, "I don't know why, but after a good night's sleep, the lyrics are much clearer, and I don't even feel tired anymore."

Wen Shenge chuckled softly: "Of course, you definitely need to rest. You can't keep going without sleep like that."

Ning Ze, who was usually quiet, nodded and said, "Yes, Jian Xingsui was right to advise you."

“We actually wanted to persuade you, but it was no use.” Wen Shengge covered her lips: “Xing Sui still has a way.”

Shen Xingchen scoffed: "He tried to persuade me, but we ended up sleeping while he practiced in the training room."

The group arrived at their respective class training rooms. When Shen Xingchen entered, he found that the others were indeed there. The overall atmosphere in Class A was not particularly harmonious. Yesterday, small cliques had even formed. An Ran and Li Xu'an had only met yesterday, but today they were already calling each other brothers. They were practicing in front of the mirror and did not say anything when they saw Shen Xingchen come in.

Shen Xingchen didn't bother with it.

He looked in the mirror and went through the music to himself. He felt very tired in the early morning and sometimes missed the lyrics, but after sleeping for more than two hours, he seemed to have memorized them completely. He was not tired at all and felt very energetic. After going through the music to himself, Shen Xingchen looked at himself in the mirror and felt glad that he had gone to sleep.

An Ran came over from behind and said, "Brother Xingchen, you danced very well."

Shen Xingchen responded lightly. In fact, An Ran was very beautiful and delicate, and she always spoke gently. She was also very capable. She was actually the type of person he liked. But for some reason, Jian Xingsui always avoided An Ran, as if he was a little afraid of her. As a result, Shen Xingchen also felt a little awkward and resistant towards An Ran.

An Ran smiled and asked, "Did Xingchen go back to the dorm to rest?"

Shen Xingchen said, "Yes."

"Oh, I think so too. He should sleep back in his dorm. What's the point of sleeping outside?" An Ran pouted. "He doesn't care about himself at all."

Shen Xingchen paused, glancing at An Ran in disbelief: "What did you say?"

An Ran was startled by his suddenly louder voice, and after a long while she hesitated and said, "I, I didn't say anything. It's just that Xing Sui was sleeping at the door, and then he left when he saw me and Brother Xu An come."

...

Shen Xingchen lowered her head, seemingly lost in thought.

An Ran asked curiously, "Brother Xingchen, what's wrong?"

When Shen Xingchen looked up again, his eyes were a little red. The usually arrogant and domineering guy was actually a little vulnerable at this moment. Thinking of that silly guy with the buzz cut, his nose felt sore. He held back for a long time before he could suppress the urge to go back to the dormitory. He cursed under his breath.

An Ran was wondering what was going on when she saw Shen Xingchen walking outside: "Brother, where are you going?"

Shen Xingchen didn't even turn her head: "I'm going to find my mentor for the evaluation!"

At 5:41 a.m., just as dawn was breaking and the sun had not yet risen above the horizon, there were very few viewers online in the "Starlight" live stream. But at that very moment, the first contestant knocked on the door of the mentor's room. Shen Xingchen walked in without hesitation. In less than 24 hours, the singing and dancing evaluation of the theme song had begun.

...

Around 7 a.m., Jian Xingsui was shaken awake from her sleep.

A menacing-looking man sat by the bed: "Get up! What are you sleeping for? This whole floor of dorms is empty, everyone's in the training room. Why are you still sleeping?"

Having slept for approximately three hours in deep sleep and two hours in light sleep, Jian Xingsui groggily opened his eyes. Upon seeing Shen Xingchen, he immediately became alert and asked, "Xingchen, what are you doing here? Did you pass... the test?"

Shen Xingchen snorted lightly, raising his head proudly: "Who do you think I am? Do you think I won't pass?"

Jian Xingsui was a beat slow to react, then smiled happily: "Great, so you're the center! You're the center?"

Shen Xingchen: "You pig! Who else could it be but me?"

Jian Xingsui's smile widened. He watched Shen Xingchen practice singing and dancing tirelessly, watched him soak several T-shirts with sweat, watched him persevere despite his aching muscles. Now, his brother had really secured the center position. For some reason, Jian Xingsui couldn't help but feel a lump in his throat, and murmured, "That's really great. Congratulations on the center position, you're so cool..."

The cameras in the dormitory were on, and many viewers had woken up. Some of them had watched the replays and, seeing this scene, were inexplicably moved.

"Oh my baby, my heart aches for you."

"The year is real!"

"I'll be the first to ship the Cinderella and the rich young master who cost 20,000 yuan."

"Please don't pair us up randomly, okay? This is just pure brotherly love, haha."

Seeing Jian Xingsui like this in the dormitory, Shen Xingchen felt bad too. He pulled Jian Xingsui and said, "What do you mean 'good'? Get up right now and go practice dancing."

Jian Xingsui slowly got up: "Okay."

He returned to the training room, where Shen Xingchen personally taught him the dance and movements. However, the young master had a bad temper and lost patience after a while, so he went to the cafeteria to eat. As a result, Jian Xingsui practiced by himself in the training room. Wen Shengge and Ning Ze happened to be free and came over to continue teaching him. An Ran and Zhou Xun practiced on the other side of the training room.

Just as the group was practicing, the door to the training room opened, and someone glanced at the door and exclaimed in surprise, "Brother Fu!"

Fu Jinxiao stood at the door. Today he was dressed in a black casual sportswear outfit, not too formal, and his aura was relaxed. But his presence alone made the trainees nervous.

A group of people spontaneously lined up and greeted him respectfully, "Hello, Coach Fu!"

Fu Jinxiao responded indifferently. He came over and leaned against the wall of the training room, raising an eyebrow at everyone: "How's everyone's training? Another day has already passed."

The answers varied:

"You've practiced enough."

"Not very familiar with it yet."

"It's not working in some places yet."

Fu Jinxiao said, "Okay, show me once."

Being able to dance and receive guidance in front of a master instructor is definitely beneficial; it's like taking an exam in advance. Everyone was happy and spontaneously spread out their positions. When the music started, they all started dancing together. An Ran was standing at the front. He was the one who learned the fastest and danced the best among the group, and he should have been praised. However, surprisingly, when the dance was halfway through, Fu Jin Xiao called out the name: "Jian Xing Sui, what are you doing?"

Jian Xingsui, who was in the last row and couldn't keep up with the rhythm, looked pitiful, but gritted her teeth and continued dancing.

So, after the dance, because the person in the back had absolutely no dance background and couldn't compare to the others who did, Fu Jinxiao's piercing gaze remained fixed on Jian Xingsui. When the music ended, Fu Jinxiao stood up, and the atmosphere in the room reached freezing point because of the movie star's mood. However, he didn't lose his temper, but instead smiled, a smile that sent chills down one's spine: "Jian Xingsui."

Jian Xingsui replied weakly, "Yes."

How do you think you danced?

"I'm a little out of step with the beat."

“No, you’re not out of rhythm.” Fu Jinxiao’s voice was elegant and gentle, but her words were sarcastic: “You just can’t find the rhythm at all.”

Everyone in the room looked at Jian Xingsui; some were worried, while others scrutinized her.

Just when everyone thought that Actor Fu would leave in anger, he walked to the wall behind Jian Xingsui and said, "Without accompaniment, show me the movements from the beginning."

Jian Xingsui was so scared that her legs went weak, but she dared not disobey Fu Jinxiao's orders, so she gritted her teeth and started jumping.

After looking at a set of photos, Fu Jinxiao asked, "Don't you have any strength? Your movements are so weak."

Jian Xingsui has no dance background. His movements are actually quite large, but he can't seem to generate any power, which makes them look strange. He said weakly, "I don't know how to exert my strength. I just can't."

Fu Jinxiao picked up a bottle of mineral water from the table next to him, walked over, and with a loud "bang!" the sound echoed through the practice room. The man glanced at Jian Xingsui and said, "Come here, give it a shake."

Jian Xingsui quickly came over and shook off the water in the same way.

Fu Jinxiao said, "You can't even swing your arms with that kind of force? The way you dance with your arms is like tickling someone. What, are you planning to put on a grand opera for us later?"

Jian Xingsui blushed as she was told this, and quickly said, "I understand, I'll try again."

When Fu Yingdi spoke, no one in the entire training room dared to speak, and the other trainees didn't even dare to move, all watching Jian Xingsui being scolded alone.

He tried a set of movements twice according to Fu Jinxiao's method, and he actually managed to bring out the sense of power in the movements.

Fu Jinxiao's expression softened considerably, and he raised an eyebrow: "Isn't this something that can be done?"

Jian Xingsui could dance this dance before, but it looked very strange. Fu Jinxiao led her through it two or three times, and in less than five minutes, Jian Xingsui danced it again, and it looked smoother and prettier, both visually and in terms of her own performance.

Not far away, Zhou Xun leaned close to An Ran's ear and said, "Jian Xingsui is such an idiot. He's so useless in front of Brother Fu. He's so embarrassing. He'll definitely not be liked by the mentor in the future."

Zhou Xun was gloating, but An Ran's expression was somewhat sullen. He said softly, "Ah Xun, if you think that way, you're wrong."

Zhou Xun was taken aback.

“If Brother Fu really didn’t like him, he wouldn’t have pointed out his problems and personally taught him.” An Ran glanced sideways: “When we were dancing just now, including you and me, and even others, we all had problems to varying degrees, but look from now until now, who has caught Brother Fu’s eye, and who is being taught?”

She seems angry, but that's because she's disappointed in others. Otherwise, why wouldn't Fu Jinxiao be angry when others make mistakes?

On the surface, it may seem fierce, but just like how parents will be fierce when they find that their child has come in last place in the exam, but after being fierce, they will try to teach their child.

The person in the entire training room who seems to dislike Jian Xingsui the most might actually like her the most. Jian Xingsui seems to be the most miserable this time, but who is the real winner is still uncertain.
