Chapter 59 You dare to bully him? (2)

He targeted the most brainless people, eliminating them one by one, only to run into someone he least wanted to see.

When you meet on a narrow path, it seems like you should run away.

An Ran walked forward with her head down, when a voice slowly came from beside her: "Stop."

Fu Jinxiao looked down at him, raising an eyebrow: "Where are you going?"

“I’m going to find that treasure fragment.” An Ran smiled. “Brother Fu, you don’t need to go towards the tower. I’ve already searched that area.”

Fu Jinxiao: "Really?"

An Ran nodded.

Seeing that he was quite far away, Fu Jinxiao walked over and approached him step by step, casually asking, "Where's Shen Xingsui? Did you run into him?"

An Ran was taken aback, then gave an awkward laugh: "I haven't encountered it, I'm not sure."

Fu Jinxiao smiled and said, "Is that so?"

“Yeah, and Brother Fu, you’d better stay away from Shen Xingsui. I just got a card that says the assassin has a younger brother who’s very young, in his early twenties. It seems like Shen Xingsui is the only one that young here, so he could very well be the assassin’s mole. You have to be careful, although I’m not sure yet…” An Ran said as she continued to back away, trying to run away.

There was an archway on this path, and you had to go through the archway to get out. Just as An Ran was about to reach the archway, a leg blocked her way.

Fu Jinxiao's long legs stepped over the doorway, his speed was astonishing. An Ran didn't even know when he arrived behind her, but Fu Jinxiao was not red-faced or out of breath, and even had a relaxed smile on his face: "Whether it's true or not, don't you know best?"

An Ran hesitated, her heart pounding, and asked, "What...do you mean?"

"Are you still going to pretend?" Fu Jinxiao put his leg down and stood in front of An Ran, looking at him with his dark eyes, a hint of sarcasm in them: "Have you ever told me that your acting skills are terrible?"

An Ran's face turned pale: "What evidence do you have?"

He was certain that he had covered his tracks perfectly, but how did Fu Jinxiao know about the task card's clues, which were so well hidden?

Fu Jinxiao said calmly, "Yesterday I told you that there were books in the manor’s attic containing your information, but we couldn’t find which one. I just went to the attic and found that all the books had been destroyed."

An Ran said, "That doesn't necessarily mean I did it, since you told Shen Xingchen and the others."

Fu Jinxiao smiled: "But the place I told them about wasn't the attic, but the study on the second floor. Now, do you want to come with me to check if some of the books on the second floor are intact?"

An Ran's face turned deathly pale in an instant.

He always thought he had everything under control, but he never expected that he would still be played!

Fu Jinxiao raised an eyebrow: "Yesterday I suspected that the mission card you received was different from ours. Our mission card refers to the identity of the assassin, while yours is about the identity of the prince."

An Ran's eyes widened, somewhat frightened by the man's intelligence.

Fu Jinxiao gave a formal and distant smile: "That's why I asked to see your card, and the fact that you're really afraid of seeing cards only confirmed my suspicions."

An Ran was speechless: "...My mission card is indeed different from yours."

"Hmm, so you've figured out the prince's identity, right?" Fu Jinxiao stepped forward. The man was tall and imposing, exuding a strong sense of intimidation. Although he wore a kind smile, it gave one the feeling of being cornered by a dangerous hunter. He lowered his head, his voice becoming much deeper: "So, where is he?"

For a moment, An Ran was genuinely afraid.

But he still wanted to struggle a bit, so he said, "Actually, you can cooperate with me. I only need to take down two more good people to destroy one artifact, and then we will win. Victory will be within our grasp. No one else knows my identity except you. Isn't that the same? Are you so obsessed with protecting the prince? Anyway, we will win."

"Who told you they're the same?"

Fu Jinxiao stood in front of him, his handsome face losing its nonchalance and becoming more serious. His eyes were deep and unfathomable. The two were not far apart, but close enough that no third person could hear their conversation. An Ran only heard his voice, which contained a dark chill: "You dare to bully him and see what happens."
