Chapter 33 She is my guide. Who do you choose?
"Are you still screaming?"
Black Bear crushed the sentry's hand and spat blood. He had just been punched in the face, his eye sockets black and half his face red and swollen. He said viciously, "Now tell your grandfather who's the laughing stock."
The sentry on the ground gasped, hatred in his eyes: "So what if you took the box? Without a guide, you..."
He suddenly stopped talking, and Black Bear turned his head following his gaze and found Xu Nuo who was putting the metal box into his arms.
"Miss Guide, this is my treasure chest." A crack appeared on Black Bear's honest face. "If you want, why not become my partner?"
Xu Nuo held the box up to the sunlight, the metal shell reflecting a brilliant rainbow of colors. "I don't want it. You're so rude to the guide."
The black bear's face darkened, and he crushed the man's feet. "Then please return the treasure chest. I'm leaving now."
The screams of the sentries on the ground grew louder and louder.
The other party was a senior guide, not to be trifled with. He would be wise to step back for now, but if she didn't know what was good for her...
Xu Nuo threw the metal box into the air and caught it again: "This box is unsigned, so it belongs to whoever gets it. What, you still want to steal it?"
The black bear sneered, took a deep breath, and his spirit body was ready to move behind him.
"I advise you to be smart and hand over your things. This is not a place for you to live in luxury. Since you've signed a life and death agreement, don't blame me for not holding back!"
Xu Nuo sneered: "After all this talk, are you going to fight or not?"
The black bear glared at him - he didn't know what was good for him!
A pampered Guide, no matter how high-ranking, is nothing more than a lamb to the slaughter without the protection of the Sentinels. These despicable people, relying on their inferior numbers to reduce the Sentinels to dust, are now trying to rob him of his resources. Damn it!
The black bear roared angrily and rushed towards the girl with his fists. He didn't even summon his spirit body, confident in the disparity in strength between the two sides.
Xu Nuo bent his body slightly, waiting for the attack with full concentration, with a hint of excitement in his eyes.
This was her first time fighting a sentinel 1v1 without any external help.
In an instant, the black bear's fist hit his face. Xu Nuo had already controlled his mental tentacles to climb up his legs and feet. He saw the right moment and pulled them down. Then he nimbly dodged the incoming fist, went around behind the sentry, and swung the metal box to smash it down on the back of his head.
This attack only delayed the tough sentry for a moment. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Xu Nuo shouted: "Little Gu!"
The large yellow velvet bird gave a crisp cry and appeared in the sky above both sides. Its small black eyes were burning with anger, and its whole body accelerated like a bullet shooting out from behind, and its sharp beak instantly pierced through the sentry's shoulder.
"Ah!!" Blood suddenly gushed out of the black bear's shoulder.
Being injured by the weak guide was a great humiliation. His eyes immediately turned red. Regardless of the severe pain in his shoulder, he raised his hand to grab Xiaogu's beak and punched wildly.
“You deserve to die!!”
Xiao Gu's body was tightly wrapped with spiritual tentacles, which together with his innate feathers resisted the attack. Even so, he was numbed by the wind from the punch. Xu Nuo hurriedly picked up the sharp corner of the metal box and continued to smash it against the sentry's head.
The other party had just delivered a fatal blow, so there was no need for her to leave any room for him.
A large amount of blood dripped from his forehead. The sentry's face, engulfed by rage and severe pain, looked like a devil rising from hell: "Damn guide, I'm going to kill you!!"
Seeing him going crazy, the girl quickly retreated, hugged Xiaogu's neck covered with yellow feathers with both hands, and climbed onto her back. The little bird chirped, flapped its wings and flew into the sky in front of the sentry.
"Ahhhhh! Get down here! Get down!" The black bear was almost able to grab the edge of the clothes, but was defeated and missed. He jumped up and down like a rage, helpless and furious.
"That was a close call," Xu Nuo gasped in mid-air, clutching the bloodstained box. "I almost died in my first 1v1 with a sentinel. I really just lack practice."
The birds chirped and circled above the stone altar, causing the angry sentries below to circle around as well.
"Yes, we have to fight again," Xu Nuo replied to the bird, "but we have to be careful of his spirit body. That bear is very strong. Wait a minute, I'm out of energy. I'll rest for a while and then try to get rid of both sentinels."
As she spoke, she wiped the sweat from her forehead with her hand, but she didn't know that her face was already splattered with blood from the previous battle. The more she wiped, the blood became more and more sticky. Her body was also soaked from swimming with the bloodstained metal box in her arms. Her whole body was covered in blood.
She was completely unaware, and her face was even pale from exhaustion after the adrenaline surge. She simply lay on Xiaogu, breathing slightly.
Not long after lying there, Little Gu suddenly cried out loudly and flapped his wings anxiously.
"What's wrong? Why are you so excited?"
"Wei Yan? How could he come so soon? Did you see it wrong? The competition area is huge."
"Stop shouting, let me rest for a while..." She closed her eyes and said in a daze.
…
Qi Qian, who rushed over, saw a scene that made him want to tear his eyes out.
The girl, covered in blood, lay sprawled on the spirit body, her face pale, her eyes closed, her hands dangling limply in the air, her chest rising and falling only faintly. A stream of blood flowed from her heart, dripping down her suspended fingertips. A bird, carrying her anxiously, circled in the sky, cooing at the sight of him.
The young man clenched his hands at his sides, his body trembling unconsciously, and a hoarse, throaty sound escaped him: "...Who is it?"
No one answered.
He said hoarsely, "Who...did it?"
Little Gu flapped his wings anxiously: "Gu! Gugugugu!"
The young man followed the bird's gaze downwards, looking at the two sentries who were curled up like quails below the girl. His cold eyes swept around them, finally concentrating on the glaringly bright red bloodstains.
"Heh." He lowered his head and laughed, the corners of his eyes turned red, and then he laughed out loud, his whole body shaking violently uncontrollably, and the joints in his hands made a terrifying crackling sound.
Black gas spread from under his feet, instantly surrounding the entire stone altar and quickly spreading towards the entire hillside.
The sky darkened instantly, a thick black fog madly engulfing everything. Qi Qian's features were obscured by the blanketing fog, leaving only a pair of dark green pupils, tinged with cold, deathly intent, fixed on the sentry before him. A smile, uglier than tears, curled the corners of his mouth as he walked towards them.
"No, it's not us..." The black bear retreated in fear, but found that there was nowhere to retreat. The oppressive feeling of being crushed by the level made his limbs locked tightly, making it impossible to retreat.
He practically knelt on the ground, dragging the sentry beside him to block him: "It's not me, it's not me! Spare me, she hit me, she hit me!!"
“Help, help!”
"ah--!!"
The screams of someone being pulled out and skinned alive resounded through the sky, startling a flock of flying birds. Zhou Xuanyi, who was rushing back in the distance, frowned and accelerated his flight.
Xu Nuo suddenly woke up from his sleep and looked around: "What's wrong? What happened?"
Little Gu flapped his wings and called even louder.
"What? Misunderstanding?" Xu Nuo looked down hurriedly, and there was only a thick black fog in his sight, and he could not see anything clearly.
"Quick, Xiaogu, let's go down!"
The black bear fell to the ground like a piece of rag, its limbs twisted and limp, and bubbles of blood foam and tissue fragments spit out of its mouth.
He tried to struggle again, but found his limbs motionless. He looked up in fear, and saw the hellish sentry crouching before him. A hideous grin curled across his bloodstained, handsome face. "You should be thankful she's still breathing. Otherwise, how could she have died so easily?"
The black bear looked at the hand he stretched out to him in horror, his throat choked, and a sound of trachea tightening was heard. His body was suspended in the air, dangling and shaking.
“Heh…heh…”
His pupils gradually blurred. Suddenly, he looked behind the sentry as if in his last struggle and uttered a hoarse, urgent sound.
"Ho, ho, ho!"
The young man said coldly: "No matter who comes today, you must -"
"Wei Yan, what are you doing?"
The girl's clear and pleasant question was like a spell to remove some kind of ban. In just an instant, the black fog around them dissipated. The black bear, almost suffocated to death, fell to the ground, covering its bruised neck and coughing loudly.
Qi Qian quickly stood up and faced the girl - she was hunched over with her hands behind her back, looking at him with a puzzled look on her face.
His body was still covered in blood, but his breathing was even and he moved freely, without any signs of injury.
Qi Qian was worried, so he picked the person up and checked him.
"Hey! Hey! What are you doing - itchy, itchy!" The girl arched her body in his arms, moving around constantly, and was finally restrained by his wrist.
The young man lowered his head and hugged her, his body covered in dust and his chin dripping with blood. The two of them stared at each other with blood all over their bodies: "Are you hurt?"
He asked earnestly and seriously, worry and concern almost overflowing from his eyes.
Xu Nuo then answered seriously: "No, this is not my blood."
Something suddenly occurred to her mind, and she turned to look at the two dying sentinels lying on the ground: "This... you—are in trouble!"
Two rescue flares were fired in succession, illuminating the darkening sky.
The platform painted with the Fino Group logo was in a mess, with several large pits in the ground and even the stone altar was broken into pieces.
Rescue workers arrived quickly and carried the two seriously injured people away in a well-trained manner without questioning or investigating them. Xu Nuo breathed a sigh of relief as he watched them disappear into the distance, then quietly turned back.
"Well..." She held the bloody box in her hand, and sat on a large rock that had been split in half, covered in blood herself. She pondered, "How about I introduce it to you?"
On her left and right, the tall sentries standing opposite each other said nothing.
Qi Qian looked at the person opposite him coldly, and Zhou Xuanyi glared back at him without giving in. Although the two did not communicate, the smell of gunpowder in the air became increasingly thicker.
Xu Nuo felt a little guilty for some reason and whispered, "It's like this, this is——"
"What introduction do you need?" Zhou Xuanyi suddenly turned around. "You are my partner and my guide, that's for sure. As for who he is, I really don't want to get to know him."
"actually--"
"I don't think so," Qi Qian said coldly, "I am the partner she had agreed upon long ago."
"Oh, everything has to be based on first come first served. I met her first."
"If you hadn't been flying around with her, we would have reunited long ago."
"So what? She has agreed to be my guide."
"You forced her to form a team against her will, do you still have any shame?"
"you--"
"Stop arguing!" Xu Nuo shouted, then his voice became weak and his eyes darted around, "Can't we..."
"No." She was interrupted by Zhou Xuanyi.
The sentries stared at each other for a moment, then all at once looked at the girl: "Who do you choose?"
