Chapter 1: Kidnapped

Chapter 1: Kidnapped

The rain keeps falling, and the early spring weather is still cold.

A blue truck, tightly wrapped in a black tarpaulin, was driving crookedly on a muddy unknown road.

The rain thinned the mud, splattering everywhere. After slowly moving for two kilometers, the car lurched violently, stalled, and became stuck in a mud pit.

The driver was a middle-aged man with a square face. He cursed a few words, then got out of the car to check.

Wen Zhu was awakened by the pain, his head banged against something hard, and he felt a little drowsy. His hands and feet were tied, and he couldn't get free.

The surroundings were dark, cold, sticky, damp, and filled with an indescribable stench and the smell of coal slag.

She heard more than one person breathing.

The unknown is humanity’s greatest fear.

So she instinctively shrank back, then remained in her original position without moving, trying to remain unchanged in the face of all changes.

The gloomy darkness gradually made Wen Zhu sink into her memories. It was Friday afternoon, and school had let out early. She was passing by the entrance of a small alley when a girl ran up to her in a panic and told her that someone was injured. She asked her to help look after them while she went to find someone to help.

"I'm not a doctor, please find someone else."

Her brother finished school later than her, so she had to meet him and go home together. She didn't bother to bother with anyone else. But that girl was very strong and dragged her in, then ran away, saying she was going to find someone to help.

Wen Zhu cursed inwardly, "What a psycho." She was not a doctor and she was not strong enough, so why would she go and watch?

I glanced at the middle-aged man sitting on the ground half leaning against the wall. He had a simple face and was holding his stomach in pain.

Then Wen Zhu turned around and left with an expressionless face.

After all, appearance has nothing to do with character, and her mother has taught her this since she was a child.

Just as she turned around, a line of words appeared in front of her: [Ahhh, the heroine was reborn and escaped the fate of being kidnapped. I'm so happy for her!]

【Ahhh, heroine! 】

[Reborn, the counterattack begins, the heroine runs for her life! ]

What about her classmates? Did the heroine drag a classmate into the room when she ran away? Is that girl okay?

[There are always cannon fodder in every world. She was just unlucky and happened to encounter human traffickers.]

[This reborn heroine is too evil. ]

She had just been reborn to the scene of abduction and nearly made the same mistake. She was probably afraid, which is human nature.

【It is not you who is suffering, so it is easy to talk without any pain in your waist.】

This sentence flashed by and was then covered by more words such as "happy", "excited", and "escape from fate".

Wen Zhu thought he was dazzled and paused for a moment.

What the hell?! Words with flames and a heart at the end? Heroine, reborn, cannon fodder?

Kidnapping!!!

If you have a bad feeling, run away. This is their family motto.

Wen Zhu is a man of action. She never doubts herself, only others. If her premonition is wrong, she blames the world for being wrong.

So she dropped her schoolbag and ran away. Life is more important than the bag!

She'd barely taken two steps when a figure emerged from an intersecting alleyway and held her nose with a cloth. A pungent odor filled her. Even though she struggled with all her might, kicking and stomping, the disparity in strength between the man and the woman put her at a disadvantage. So she pretended to relax for two seconds, holding her breath, then, taking advantage of the man's surprise, bit him on the hand. The man loosened his grip slightly in pain.

Before Wen Zhu could move, he was restrained by another stronger force, and his mouth and nose were covered by something filled with a pungent smell again.

Wen Zhu was unwilling to give up. He looked at the figure of the girl in the distance who had not yet completely disappeared with his hazy eyes, and raised his hand for help.

The girl looked back at her in panic. Then Wen Zhu lost her strength and slowly fell to the ground, losing consciousness.

When you open your eyes again, it will be now.

So, was she kidnapped? Was that girl an accomplice of the kidnapper? Or was it just a random encounter? Would she call the police? And what were those strange words? Who was this heroine they were talking about? My brother must be getting anxious if he couldn't wait any longer.

Wen Zhu has too many questions.

But for now she could only wait and see.

Wen Zhu closed his eyes to relax and relieve his headache. That cool, metallic sensation must be a train compartment. Judging by the noises he'd just heard, the large space, and the smell of coal slag, it must be a truck hauling coal.

Just then, there were faint sounds coming from the front. Those people didn't deliberately lower their voices, so she could hear them clearly by holding her breath.

A gruff voice cursed as it went to check the car.

The people in the front and back seats seemed to be in a good mood and started chatting.

"Brother, we got eight piglets this time. We're sure to make a fortune. This deal will be enough to feed us for several years, hehe."

As he spoke, he blew his nose, flicked it out the window, and then wiped it on his pair of green rubber shoes that were covered with some mud. He wiped his nose twice with the back of his hand, and finally wiped the snot clean.

The honest man looked at him with disdain, but said nothing. He took out a cigarette, and the little man immediately took out a match, struck it, and lit it for him in a servile manner.

After taking a puff of his cigarette, the honest man spoke.

"Be careful what you say outside. If someone catches us, we'll be dead."

After finishing his cigarette, he said to the short man, "You guys stay here and watch the cart. I'll go find someone to push it from the nearby village. Don't get into any crooked thoughts or do anything you shouldn't be doing. I'm counting on selling these piglets intact for a good price, especially the two prettier ones. If you break them, no one will buy them, and I'll chop you up."

As he said this, he put on his raincoat and disappeared in the rain.

Piglets? They were probably referring to her and the other people in the carriage, eight in total. They were planning to sell them off!

She had to find a chance to escape.

Just as her mind was wandering, something that looked like a finger under her arm moved, as if it was waking up. Outside, footsteps in the mud were approaching.

"Little guy, go check if the piglets are awake. If they are, give them some medicine and tie them up tightly. It will be bad if they make noise when someone comes to help push the cart."

After saying that, the man continued to tinker with the tools, making a ding-dong sound.

When Wen Zhu heard they were coming over to check, he immediately held back the slightly moving hand and sighed softly.

The owner of the hand didn't move. It was unclear whether he understood what she meant or fell asleep again.

The man called the short man braved the rain, spat, and said lightly, "You are the one who called me short man, you son of a bitch, you just order me around." The rain splashed on the short man's face, and he grimaced from the cold. He impatiently lifted a corner of the tarpaulin and took a look inside.

At the sudden light, a girl whimpered. The short man immediately covered her mouth with anesthetic, and after a while, the carriage returned to silence.

Just in case, he took out a piece of rag and stuffed it into her mouth.

He kicked a few people who might be awake, and when there was no movement, the little guy got out of the car.

The tarpaulin was covered and darkness returned to the car.

After a while, Wen Zhu's hand was gently touched. She was delighted, thinking that the person next to her was not stupid and knew how to hide.

Her schoolbag was lost, leaving only a sharpened pencil in her pocket, an eraser, a bracelet her mother had made for her, a red scarf, a piece of metal she found in the carriage, a pile of broken coal slag, and seven abducted children like her, whose ages she didn't know.

At this moment, subtitles flashed before her eyes again!
