Chapter 32 Who Are You
There are too many people and there are not enough chairs at home. No one cares about the seats, as long as there is someone who stutters.
If there's not enough room, the chairs are folded sideways, so two people can sit together, or stand up with a bowl and some food, and there's nothing wrong with that. In rural areas, when there are many guests during Chinese New Year or other festivals, people either borrow stools or just squeeze in and sit.
Jiang Qin's cooking was impeccable, and everyone ate with their mouths drooling. The fact that they were able to eat chicken was thanks to Wen Zhu. Everyone tacitly saved the chicken legs for her.
She gave one to her third brother, as they had agreed. His eyes sparkled with joy, as if filled with stars. Jiang Jianye didn't eat it right away. Instead, he stared at the chicken drumstick again and again, resisting the urge to eat. Finally, with a heavy heart, he returned the drumstick to Wen Zhu.
"Sister, eat more to replenish your body and heal your injuries."
Wen Zhu thought her third brother was so adorable. She even wondered if the comments were wrong. Her third brother was such a pure, innocent little white rabbit, so well-behaved, so cute. How could he be the crazy future scientist they were talking about? It seemed like those words couldn't be fully believed.
"I have one now. This is for my third brother." Jiang Jianye then happily started to eat.
What crazy scientists? This is clearly a happy puppy!
Jiang Qin understood the situation when Wen Zhu was being treated. Seeing that there were so many people, she was afraid that they were all young and middle-aged people with big appetites and might not have enough to eat, so she baked several plates of flatbread, made a pot of noodle soup, fried some chopped pepper chicken offal, pickled sauerkraut, and hot and sour potato shreds. The table was full and fragrant and delicious.
Wen Zhu was thinking about whether to go to the kitchen to get some chicken soup and cook some porridge for the wounded. Jiang Qin pressed his shoulders and sat down to eat. "Don't worry, the pot has been cooked for a long time. You can eat yours and don't worry about it."
Wen Zhu once again felt how wonderful it was to have a family who loved, cared for, and understood him.
After dinner, Wu Changlin and Liu Zhigang actively helped to clear the table and wash the dishes. Jiang Qin and Wen Hong couldn't stop them and could only let them help.
There is simply no room for so many people to sleep at home. If there is no room for them to sleep when visiting relatives, they usually stay at other families in the village where they have a good relationship.
However, Qian Jingsheng and his men had special status, so it was not convenient for too many people to know that someone was being treated here. He was afraid that some people would have no time to pry and spread gossip, which would not only be detrimental to the injured person's recovery, but also damage his daughter's reputation.
Liu Zhigang and Wu Changlin simply said that they would just stay in the car for one night.
After all, once Zhao Tuan has arranged everything, there might be new instructions, and the two of them would have to be on standby at all times.
Doctor Yang took the initiative to take on the task of accompanying Qian Jingsheng. Although he had been treated before, tonight was particularly critical. It was easy for him to develop a fever due to infection. If not treated in time, all the previous efforts would be wasted.
Although Wen Zhu was more familiar with the situation, if a girl was alone in a room with a grown man, it would still be bad for the girl's reputation if others knew about it.
Although Wen Zhu didn't mind these things, she was born in this era and had to do things that were in line with the times. She couldn't just ignore them. Otherwise, she would easily be regarded as an alien. And the fate of aliens was usually not good.
Wen Zhu really admired this foodie who only cared about her mother's cooking. "There's no need to rush so early. Noon will do."
"That won't do. I can't sleep if I miss a meal cooked by Auntie. I'll bring some ingredients tomorrow, so I won't eat or drink for free. Don't worry!"
After saying that, he turned around and waved his hand casually, "Young Master, come on time tomorrow!"
Qian Xusen consciously finished his meal and asked Brother Zhang to drive him back to town, but he turned back as soon as he left.
Wen Zhu thought that he had a change of heart and planned to stay and take care of Qian Jingsheng. After all, he said they were relatives.
Before Qian Xusen left, he suddenly remembered that he seemed to have a brother lying in someone else's home, so he said to Wen Zhu, "It may be hard for you to take care of him!"
After all, his cousin is fierce and cold, and even hurts when he hits people. He must be very difficult to serve.
He knew his own limitations and knew that if he stayed, he wouldn't be able to take care of himself, so he decided not to cause more trouble.
Seeing him leave like this, Wen Zhu began to wonder if they were related. However, if Qian Xusen really took the initiative to take care of someone, she, the attending physician, would actually be even more worried.
When I got home, I saw my parents taking out the money that had been left on the kitchen chopping board. They were asking, "Did those two guys put it there? Oh, they really did. They paid for a meal. That's outrageous! I have to send it back to them."
Doctor Yang heard this and said directly, "This is what the three of us agreed on. Just don't think it's too little. Those two guys are so stubborn. They only have a little over thirty yuan on hand, and they're afraid you'll think it's too little. We came here uninvited, and your family is treating us and providing us with meals, so we can't just keep eating and drinking for free. If you give this money back, they won't be able to come back tomorrow."
Jiang Qin and Wen Hong looked at each other, somewhat undecided. After all, more than 30 yuan was a lot of money. It was almost as much as a worker's monthly salary in their town.
Wen Zhu simply persuaded his parents to accept it, "Make more dishes tomorrow, the same. Otherwise, they won't be able to eat with peace of mind."
"Okay, I'll make some delicious dishes tomorrow."
Jiang Qin then put it away.
Doctor Yang went to wash up, and Wen Zhu helped to watch over Qian Jingsheng for a while before taking over. Seeing that Qian Jingsheng's face was dirty and his mouth was cracked, he went to get a glass of warm water and wiped his face.
His face was cleaned, revealing the man's original appearance. Although I knew he wouldn't be ugly just by looking at that naughty kid Qian Xusen, I still felt amazed when I saw him in person.
Qian Xusen is the youthful vigor of a teenager, and this man is a walking hormone. It turns out that when it comes to handsome guys, you have to look at this kind of guy.
Smooth and clear facial contours, sharp eyebrows, bright eyes, long eyelashes and perfect lip shape.
The perfect combination of European and American bone structure and Asian skin. The facial features are both deep and in line with the aesthetic taste of Chinese people.
Humans are visual creatures. A love of beauty is human nature. Wen Zhu simply couldn't help but take a few more glances at beautiful things; she felt that something beautiful should be appreciated. And since she wasn't awake, this was a great opportunity; it wouldn't be excessive to take a look openly, right?
After wiping his face, she used some water to moisten his chapped lips. If she hadn't given him some water, the three grown men would have completely forgotten about it.
He was just unconscious, not dead. He didn't even give him water.
So I used a small spoon to wet his lips with water little by little.
Qian Jingsheng felt like he was walking in the desert, dry and desperate. Suddenly, he felt a hint of sweetness. Subconsciously, he slowly opened his mouth and took in the sweet spring water bit by bit.
His consciousness seemed to be slowly returning, and through his hazy eyes, he seemed to see the fairy again. He felt that he must be dreaming.
How could such a beautiful person exist in the world? His subconscious mind thought she was someone from a dream. But the sweet, moist taste between his lips and teeth was real, so he subconsciously grasped her arm with his left hand, the only one that could move.
With hazy eyes and a hoarse voice, he asked, "Who are you?"
