Chapter 34 Wake Up

Chapter 34 Wake Up

Doctor Yang cursed and lay back on the mat on the floor to catch up on his sleep.

What kind of people are these? They are so unfair. If you care about this dead kid any more, he will be a dog!

Doctor Yang fell asleep quickly and even started snoring.

Qian Jingsheng couldn't sleep. He simply looked around the room he was in. It wasn't big, but it was very tidy. The mud walls were neatly covered with newspapers. Apart from a bed, a desk, and a wooden box, there was almost nothing else.

It’s not that there aren’t any. There is a row of awards on the wall above the desk, and all of them have the same name on them - Wen Zhu.

Wen Zhu, why does this name sound familiar? I seem to have heard it somewhere. After thinking for a long time, he finally remembered the little mud man he met during his mission. That brave and clever little girl seemed to be named Wen Zhu too.

It can’t be such a coincidence, right?

The bed he slept in was small, barely big enough to fit him. The quilt had a faint aroma of soapberry mixed with an unknown sweetness. No wonder he could smell it even in his dreams.

He lay there for a while longer, then, seeing that daylight had already broken, tried to push himself up and stretch. This only caused him to tug at the wound, causing him to wince slightly. But he was used to this level of pain, so he didn't react too strongly. His arm was injured, but his leg was fine; getting out of bed was no problem.

He just raised his foot to get down and found that he had no shoes.

At this time, Wen Zhu also got up. She wanted to help her mother sell snacks today, so she had to get up early to finish her homework first, and then help prepare the ingredients.

So when she quietly pushed open the door of her room, her eyes met Qian Jingsheng's as he sat up and tried to get out of bed.

Both of them were stunned for a while.

Qian Jingsheng looked at Wen Zhu several times and asked uncertainly, "Are you Wen Zhu?"

Wen Zhu asked, "Uncle PLA, are you awake?"

As soon as Qian Jingsheng heard the voice, he knew it was the little girl he had picked up on the street. He smiled and said, "Thank you very much for reminding me at that time. Otherwise, I might not have been able to come back."

"It's just a small matter."

Wen Zhu saw that he was awake and asked him, "Do you want to eat something? There is porridge in the morning, you can drink some."

"Thanks."

Wen Zhu quickly picked up his schoolbag and was about to go out but was stopped by Qian Jingsheng.

"Wait, can you give me a pair of shoes and a shirt? I want to go downstairs for a walk."

It's never nice to be shirtless in someone else's home.

Wen Zhu agreed, closed the door and went out.

He couldn't help laughing as he watched the little girl running away with her schoolbag. What a little kid.

Thinking of the hazy figure in my dream, I feel a little melancholy. I don’t know when I can see her again.

Jiang Jianbei brought the shoes and clothes, and Wen Zhu went to do his homework.

At that time, there were no mobile phones and not every household had a television. Everyone went to bed early and got up early. The yard gradually became lively.

Liu Zhigang went to the town to contact his superiors. Wu Changlin came to Wen Zhu's house early in the morning, had breakfast, and helped with the work.

Seeing Wen Zhu writing the test paper, I was standing by to give him some pointers, but I realized I probably didn't know how to do it, so I gave up.

Then Jiang Qin took a look and said, "If we change the unknown number here, wouldn't it be simpler?"

Wen Zhu nodded, thinking her mother's words made sense. She relied entirely on her memory to learn math, so she would just use whatever solution she saw in the example.

The second brother Jiang Jianbei added, "Little sister, this is also OK, it's the most basic. In fact, it might be better to think in a different way and think in reverse."

Jiang Jianye was peeling potatoes nearby. He glanced at the solution and said casually, "I have three more solutions. Do you want to hear them, sister?"

Wu Changlin: ...

My aunt was probably born in the wrong era and didn't get to go to school, but I really didn't learn anything! I feel like I've been hit hard by this family. He's only suited to shutting up and working.

Qian Jingsheng slowly walked out of the room and saw the harmonious scene in the yard. He couldn't help but feel relaxed.

As soon as Wu Changlin saw Qian Jingsheng, he immediately dropped the half-peeled potato and ran over.

She wanted to reach out but didn't dare to touch him, "Captain, you're finally awake. I thought I'd never have the chance to see you again. If you never wake up again, even if I risk being expelled, I will beat that bastard Gu Zhenbei up and make him die with you!"

Qian Jingsheng glanced at him speechlessly, "My arm is just injured. It's not so small that I can't bear it. Don't talk about life and death every day. I'm afraid of being cursed to death by you."

Wu Changlin cried bitterly, "You can scold me as much as you want, I just love to hear the battalion commander scold me!"

Everyone in the yard was speechless.

"I want to personally thank the doctor who saved me. I wonder if it would be convenient for me to meet him," Qian Jingsheng asked. He had considered it might be Doctor Yang, but the fact that he was not at the military hospital but in this small farmyard meant that someone else had saved him.

Everyone's eyes turned to Wen Zhu, who was lying on a stool under the persimmon tree, writing a paper.

The girl had two jet-black braids, each tied with a headband, probably to facilitate homework. She looked playful and adorable. The scars on her face were almost invisible, and her skin was fair and tender. Her dark, shiny eyes, bathed in sunlight, looked particularly lively. She was a small ball, like a rabbit.

The answer in Qian Jingsheng's mind was about to come out, but he was a little bit unbelievable.

It was Wu Changlin who spoke quickly, "Captain, don't look at Wen Zhu's young age, but his medical skills are amazing." He gave him a thumbs up and praised him.

Just as he guessed, he thanked Wen Zhu, "Thank you... Doctor Wen."

"It's a small matter. Just call me Xiaozhu. I'm not worthy of the title of doctor." Wen Zhu is most afraid of others thanking her. She may be better at scolding and quarreling.

Fortunately, Qian Xusen, that noisy guy, came back and diverted her attention, so she finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"What smells so good? I can smell it at the entrance of the village." He said as he walked, sniffed, and looked into the kitchen.

His mouth was as sweet as honey, making Jiang Qin very happy.

Jiang Qin said it would be ready soon, and came out a moment later with a large plate of crispy potatoes.

It is full of the flavors of cumin, chili powder and other spices, as well as the mellow aroma of farm potatoes, sprinkled with chopped green onions and coriander. It is both beautiful and delicious.

Everyone swallowed unconsciously.

"Come on, try some and give me some advice. Let's see if anyone buys my rice-crusted potatoes when I put them on the stall." He then gave everyone a bamboo skewer. This was Wen Zhu's suggestion, and Wen Hong peeled them early in the morning.

Everyone was eating happily. Qian Jingsheng didn't move. Wu Changlin sighed as he ate, "Boss, you really missed out on this incredible delicacy. I'll try two more for you and tell you what they taste like later."

Wen Zhu remembered that he seemed to have not eaten, so he brought him a bowl of porridge. "That taste is too strong. It's not suitable for you to eat now. Drink some white porridge. When the fever is gone, eat some eggs and other meat to supplement your nutrition."

Qian Jingsheng thanked him, picked up the bowl with his left hand and started drinking.

Wen Zhu stood before him, feeling like a dwarf in front of a giant. Subconsciously, he quickly moved away. "No comparison, no harm." He consoled himself, "I'll still grow."

Leaving dad at home to entertain the guests, Wen Zhu and his second brother, third brother, and Jiang Qin went to set up the stall.

However, Wen Zhu didn't expect that as soon as they left the house, he saw the barrage of comments starting to scroll again.

[Did the cannon fodder family do this on purpose? They also went to the heroine's stall? Are they deliberately going against the heroine?!]

[There are so many ways to do business in the world, but only the heroine is allowed to do it, right? ]

[Also, the heroine sells fried melon seeds, and the other person sells crispy potatoes, and they didn't imitate her. What do you mean? Can't you make money if you're not the heroine?]

Wen Zhu found it even more interesting.

She felt that she was born to be a villain, stealing business, especially from the heroine, which would be even more interesting!
