Chapter 22 How to get along with Fojiang Tongzi
"No... you have become a boy, do you still need to go to the temple to chant Buddha..."
Jiang Jiu held his forehead and stopped Fo Jiang, who had become a child, from going out.
"Don't you want me to go?"
Fo Jiang looked at her with a light tone and an indescribable compassion. This time, his appearance really had some of the flavor of a natural boy. No wonder he was taken to the holy land by the Buddhists at a very young age and became the Holy Son of Buddhism.
If Jiang Jiu had first seen Fo Jiang in this state, he would have sighed that he was a good material for Buddhist practice.
"Of course not!"
The ginger wine was even a little anxious.
"You have no power now. Even if you go to the temple, they won't recognize you. Besides, you look like this. I'm afraid they'll keep you here."
Her worries were not without reason. If it was Fojiang, the people in the temple would really think that he was the reincarnation of a boy. They had extremely strong faith and would do incredible things. They might be thinking about him every few days.
"Can."
A trace of fluctuation appeared on Fo Jiang's indifferent little face, and he responded in a calm voice.
Jiang Jiu originally planned to stop him, but she didn't expect Fo Jiang to agree so easily, which made her stunned.
She looked at Fo Jiang's back as he walked inside, and opened her mouth, not knowing what to say.
"What are you standing there for? Aren't you supposed to stay at home?"
Fo Jiang now looked like a child. He took many steps with his short legs, but the distance was only a few meters. Suddenly, he turned around and asked Jiang Jiu.
"oh oh."
Jiang Jiu responded blankly and followed.
Who knew that as soon as he walked to Fo Jiang's side, he saw him sitting cross-legged and meditating. He didn't know where he got the cushion and wooden fish from, but the sounds echoed in the villa. Jiang Jiu even seemed to smell the scent of incense, as if he was dreaming of returning to the temple.
"You are..."
Jiang Jiu was full of questions.
Since I can’t go to the temple, do I have to meditate at home?
"Meditate, can't you see?"
Fo Jiang stopped what he was doing, slowly opened his eyes, and looked at Jiang Jiu's calm expression, not looking like a child at all. This made Jiang Jiu start to wonder, how come he had such a big impact on other people, but seemed to have no effect on Fo Jiang at all.
Even someone like Yu Zimo would become more emotionally expressive, but when he came to Fo Jiang, it seemed that only his body had become smaller, while his soul remained the same.
"No, I said you've turned back into a child now, can't you do something happy?"
Jiang Jiuren was numb and couldn't help complaining as he sat opposite Yu Zimo.
"Happy things? Meditation can calm the mind and is one of the best ways to do that."
Fo Jiang explained calmly.
"Um, I mean, the kind of happiness you have as a child."
Jiang Jiu was speechless for a moment.
"It's true that children should have some fun, but for me, this is a test. I knew that one day I would lose my powers and return to being a child. Normal people would panic, and I would be the same. So I need to be more calm and not be affected by external things."
Fo Jiang's words were well-reasoned and made Jiang Jiu speechless.
The thought processes of different people are completely different. It seems that Fo Jiang has been completely brainwashed.
"Aren't you ever bored?"
Jiang Jiu asked curiously.
She always thought that monks were a group of very patient people, but it seemed that it was not the case with Fo Jiang. Every time he was moved by her, his emotions would fluctuate greatly. It would be a bit far-fetched to say that he was the same as other monks.
"Won't."
Fo Jiang closed his eyes and uttered two words.
The delicate and graceful Buddhist boy was sacred and inviolable in Jiang Jiu's eyes. Only Fo Jiang made her not want to bully him, otherwise she would always feel an indescribable sense of guilt.
"When you're worried about me, do you also want to be unaffected by external things?"
Jiang Jiu stared at his face, not knowing why he asked this question.
Fo Jiang paused his hand that was beating the wooden fish, and finally put it down. He opened his eyes and looked at her again. A hint of helplessness suddenly appeared in those compassionate and calm eyes.
"You are the exception."
He seemed to be calmly stating a fact, but to Jiang Jiu's ears it was a naked confession.
"My only wavering faith is you. If I give you up as well, perhaps my path will progress further. But no matter what, you have become part of my blood. If I lose you, I can rest in peace in the earth."
Fo Jiang spoke seriously, making Jiang Jiu's face turn redder and redder.
She clearly still looked like a child, but when he confessed his love to her like this, she couldn't help but feel extremely moved.
It is said that people who are usually serious can be unbearable once they fall in love, and Jiang Jiu has a deep understanding of this.
"That's all."
He sighed, put down the wooden fish completely, and had no intention of continuing to meditate.
Jiang Jiu watched him stand up, still a little confused, and asked subconsciously.
"Why don't you meditate anymore?"
Fo Jiang left her with his back and walked towards the kitchen, his voice drifting from afar.
"With you here, I can't be quiet. I don't have to waste any more time."
As soon as these words came out, Jiang Jiu touched her nose embarrassedly. It sounded like she was the culprit of something extremely excessive.
As she was thinking, she suddenly heard a strange noise coming from the direction of the kitchen. She immediately stood up and walked inside.
Then, she saw a cup smashed in front of Fo Jiang. Although Fo Jiang was still pretending to be calm, there was a hint of helplessness in his eyes when he looked at Jiang Jiu, which only a child could have.
He must have forgotten that he had become small. He wanted to drink water but didn't want to ask Jiang Jiu for help, so he tried to pick up the water cup on the table by himself, but accidentally dropped it and broke it on the ground.
"I'm fine."
Before Jiang Jiu could speak, Fo Jiang immediately interrupted Jiang Jiu's caring words, probably because he didn't want to embarrass himself further.
Jiang Jiu raised her eyebrows, finally finding some flaws in Fo Jiang. Normally, she thought that nothing could move Fo Jiang except his feelings for her, but now he was a little panicked because of breaking a cup.
"Well, I'll put it away now."
Considering the need to protect Fo Jiang's self-esteem, Jiang Jiu didn't say anything, but walked up to him, gently touched his head, and then spoke softly.
Her behavior was just for convenience, and she did the same to small animals and children. However, when such behavior was done by Fo Jiang, it felt a little strange.
"Usually... only the abbot would touch my head like this."
Fo Jiang watched Jiang Jiu pick up the fragments in silence, his tone somewhat complicated.
"Um?"
Jiang Jiu was stunned, thinking of Fo Jiang's master, the unlucky master whose heart was broken after seeing her and Fo Jiang together.
"Then I'm truly honored."
She teased.
