Chapter 101 Unsent Postcard

On Sunday morning, Xue Du went to the company to work overtime.

For the project that has just been negotiated, we should strike while the iron is hot and continue to push forward.

Qi Yuying was afraid that Shen Yinan would be bored alone, so she asked him to go to the old house to play together, and by the way, she wanted to teach him some chess skills that she had recently realized.

When Shen Yinan arrived, Qi Yuying had set up a small table on the carpet in the study, with two cushions placed on the side, which was quite interesting.

The old lady arranged the chess pieces according to the book and said, "KK, go say hello to your brother."

When she said this, Ana Shen realized that there was a little fur ball in the room.

KK was originally lazily lying by a window not far away, basking in the sun. When he saw him coming, he came over with his tail wagging, and rubbed his cheek against the boy's calf affectionately.

Shen Yinan touched the puppy’s fur that was hot from the sun and asked, “Is my sister here too?”

Xue Ning usually lives in an apartment in the city center and only brings KK with him when he goes home.

Speaking of her granddaughter, Qi Yuying curled her lips and said, "She's crying upstairs. They broke up again."

again……

Shen Yinan was a little worried: “Is there anything I can do?”

"No need." Qi Yuying was not surprised. "She should be hiding under the covers crying while writing her essay. Xiao Han will come to comfort her later. Since I came back, they have had four or five fights. It was like a storm. Even the dog would get scolded by her if he went there."

kk called out a few times in response.

Qi Yuying took one last look at the book "Introduction to Go for Teenagers" in her hand, shoved the book under the coffee table, and patted the table seriously.

"Okay, it's set! Come on, grandma will teach you something amazing today."

Shen Yinan picked up KK, sat opposite Qi Yuying, picked up the chess pieces, and played chess.

At lunch time, Xue Ning had not come downstairs yet.

When the maid brought her lunch, she refused to open the door, insisting that she was not hungry and was working.

Qi Yuying was still a little worried, so she went upstairs to call her to eat. Before going upstairs, she asked Shen Yinan if he wanted to take a nap later.

Shen Yinan nodded, he really didn’t sleep well last night.

Qi Yuying said, "The carpet and sheets in the guest room are old, so I asked someone to make new ones. They haven't been delivered yet. How about...you stay in Xue Du's room? No one usually goes into his room, so I'll have someone change the sheets for you."

The old lady is very particular about this.

However, Shen Yinan didn’t want to trouble anyone, so after lunch, he carried KK into Xue Du’s room.

Apart from some extra clutter, Xue Du's room looked no different from when he first came in.

Shen Yinan put KK down and found a pair of pajamas from the cabinet. He just changed into his top when he found that KK was gone.

It was the puppy's first time in this room. He ran around with his little paws clacking, excitedly inspecting this new territory.

Shen Yinan followed the sound and found KK in the study.

The energetic puppy found a locked box from somewhere and started running around it.

Hearing Shen Yinan's footsteps, it turned its head and scratched a few times with its claws, as if it had discovered a treasure, and excitedly asked for praise.

Having been to Xue Du’s room several times, this was the first time Shen Yinan saw this box.

The box was made of leather, with slightly yellowed edges, and looked quite old. Even the lock on it had some cracks, and after being picked at a few times by KK, it became even more shaky.

Shen Yinan lifted the rusty lock, looked at it for a few seconds, and put the box back in its place.

He said to the expectant puppy in a gentle voice, "Let's go to sleep."

kk's tail drooped in disappointment.

Shen Yinan squatted and touched it for a while. When he stood up, because of hypoglycemia, his eyes went dark, and he subconsciously held onto the bookshelf beside him.

His fingertips touched the rough spine of the book, and he glanced at it inadvertently, his expression paused slightly.

The copy of "Hamlet" that I had seen in the study before was put back on the bookshelf in Xue Du's room at some point.

There are some other books next to it.

Shen Yinan felt inexplicably familiar, these… he seemed to have seen them before.

But some of them were my favorites when I was a kid, and some of them were my favorites when I was in college...

He and Xue Du had already had a brief meeting through these texts before they met.

Ana Shen looked at the rows of books on the bookshelf, and a wonderful and warm feeling welled up in his heart.

He raised his hand and pulled out the copy of Hamlet with the scratches on the spine left by him.

Just as he was about to take a photo of Xue Du, his phone vibrated before him.

When I picked up the phone, the young man's gentle voice rang in my ears.

"Did you have a good lunch?"

“It’s delicious, all the food I like to eat.” Shen Yinan knew that it was Xue Du who gave the order to the kitchen, his lips raised, then frowned, “But my sister didn’t eat at noon.”

"You'll get used to it in the future." Xue Du said helplessly, "They do this all the time. Maybe they'll kiss passionately in front of you next week."

“Is that so… I’m glad you’re okay.” Shen Yinan breathed a sigh of relief.

Xue Du turned the topic back to him: "I'll be back late today. Does anyone want some ice cream?"

"……have."

A certain baby replied in an embarrassed whisper.

Xue Du laughed and asked him what he did this morning.

Shen Yinan smiled and talked to him.

While chatting, his eyes accidentally swept across the box at his feet. After thinking for a moment, he told the truth: "There is a box in your study, and the lock on it seems..."

"Are you in the study?" Xue Du asked suddenly, his voice unconsciously tense.

“Well…” For some reason, his tone made Shen Yinan feel helpless as if he had done something wrong, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to come in.”

"Baby, you don't have to apologize to me." Xue Du spoke slowly, as if he was thinking about how to express himself.

He paused for a few seconds before saying, "In that box, there are some of my grandfather's things. I'll show them to you later, okay?"
