Chapter 3 I Report

Chapter 3 I Report

Sitting in the car, the driver assumed that the young lady was too sad to talk, but little did he know that Xia Qianqian was checking the comments on the live stream.

[That's a good trick of hers. She changed her address to "Auntie," and once the exercise starts, it will be none of her business.]

Xia Qianqian's lips curled up slightly.

Yes, she did have this idea in her mind, and not only that, she also wanted to completely sever ties with the Xia family!

She said to the driver, "Uncle Liu, you can just park the car at the train station for me."

The driver became anxious: "Miss, how can that be? The place is remote. If I don't take you there, you'll have to take a horse-drawn carriage after you get off the train."

He watched Xia Qianqian grow up; she had never suffered like this.

Xia Qianqian gave a bitter smile: "Uncle Liu, as you know, I'm no longer the eldest daughter of the Xia family. In the future, I might not even be able to afford a train ticket. If I don't adapt now, what will I do later?"

"Oh, what a tragedy!" The driver remained silent for a long time before finally taking her to the train station as she had instructed.

"Uncle Liu, please take care!" Xia Qianqian waved vigorously at him.

The driver wiped away his tears, shook his head, and then drove back to report.

He was just a laborer; what could he do when the master made him do this? He never expected the master to be so heartless, making the young lady change how she addressed them.

After the driver left, Xia Qianqian stored her suitcase at the luggage storage area at the train station entrance, and then, carrying the suitcase she had prepared beforehand, walked to the Revolutionary Committee across from the train station.

"Comrade, who are you looking for? Please register." The staff at the door stopped Xia Qianqian when they saw her.

Xia Qianqian said, "Comrade, I'm here to report that the Xia family has exploitative class ideology and practices, and that they are hiding property in their home!"

"The Xia family? Is it the Xia family in the south of the city?" The Xia family is a large and powerful family, and almost everyone in the city knows about them. When the staff heard her say this, they quickly asked her to confirm.

“That’s right, and I’ve brought the evidence with me.”

When the staff heard Xia Qianqian say this, they told her to wait there while they went to ask their supervisor.

Upon hearing this, the leaders of the Revolutionary Committee knew that this was no small matter, and they quickly came downstairs with their staff.

Upon seeing Xia Qianqian, he said, "Young comrade, what's your name? Let's walk this way and go to the conference room to discuss the situation in detail."

“My name is Xia Qianqian. I used to be the adopted daughter of the Xia family. But now that their biological daughter has been found, they have kicked me out of the house.”

When she said the last sentence, Xia Qianqian's lips trembled slightly, and she lowered her head.

When the leaders of the Revolutionary Committee saw that her eyes were brimming with tears, swirling around as if they were about to burst forth, a look of sympathy involuntarily appeared on their faces.

He comforted her, saying, "Comrade Xia Qianqian, it's good that you left the Xia family. In this way, you can say that you've severed ties with them."

Xia Qianqian nodded vigorously after hearing this, and then placed the box in her hand on the table.

"This is money that the Xia family secretly hid. I want to donate it all to the Revolutionary Committee for revolutionary construction," Xia Qianqian said, opening the box in her hand.

In an instant, the gleaming gold bars inside the box emitted a dazzling light, so bright it almost blinded people.

The leaders of the Revolutionary Committee were stunned by the box full of gold bars. It took them a while to recover.

"Comrade Xia Qianqian, are you sure you really want to donate all these gold bars to the Revolutionary Committee?" The leader's voice was filled with undisguised surprise and excitement.

You have to understand that their Revolutionary Committee is currently facing a severe shortage of funds for various aspects of development, so this money is a real lifesaver for them!

"Um."

Xia Qianqian nodded firmly: "The country needs money for construction everywhere. I just hope that this money can be used where it is most needed."

After saying that, she pushed the small box towards the leader.

The leader said, “In that case, I will accept it. On behalf of all the revolutionary masses, I express my gratitude to you! Comrade Xia Qianqian, your actions fully demonstrate that although you were born into a capitalist family, your heart is with the poor and lower-middle peasants! This is a demonstration of resolutely breaking with your old family and actively devoting yourself to the revolutionary cause!”

"Thank you for your recognition, leader. I have another request."

Hearing this, the leader asked, "What is your request?"

"I want to go to the countryside to be reformed and to be re-educated by the poor and lower-middle peasants! I know that I come from such a family and inevitably have some old ideas and old ways of thinking. Only by going to the vast countryside and struggling with the poor and lower-middle peasants can I truly reform myself and become a qualified revolutionary comrade."

Her expression was as resolute as if she were about to join the Party.

Upon hearing this, the leader exclaimed, "Excellent, Comrade Xia Qianqian! Your ideological awareness is very high! Our Revolutionary Committee approves your request. We hope that after you arrive in the countryside, you will take root there and continue to carry out the revolution!"

At this point, the leader called his secretary over and instructed, "Give Comrade Xia Qianqian a letter of introduction for going to the countryside. There's a group of educated youth going to the countryside soon, so she can go with them."

Xia Qianqian hurriedly asked, "Is anyone going to Willow Tree Village? My biological parents are there. Can I get there?"

The secretary replied, "Yes. But we're leaving this afternoon."

Xia Qianqian smiled upon hearing this, as it suited her perfectly.

I guess the Xia family has probably already discovered that everything in the house has been looted, and they're probably looking for me everywhere, wanting to take their anger out on me. I need to get out of here as soon as possible.

[The female lead can't just leave like this. If she does, she'll still be harassed by this family when the movement comes.]

Xia Qianqian's eyes narrowed instantly when she saw the comment on the screen.

It's already like this, isn't it enough?

So what should she do?

Before long, someone in the live chat asked her the question that had been on her mind.

So, what do you think the female lead should do?

[We still need to publish it in the newspaper, making it public that she's severing ties with the Xia family. That way, it can be used as evidence later.]

Seeing this suggestion in the comments, Xia Qianqian nodded silently.

This is indeed a good idea. As long as she holds the newspaper with the statement of severing ties in her hand, she won't have to worry about the Xia family bothering her anymore, no matter when.

Thinking of this, she said to the leaders of the Revolutionary Committee, "Leaders, I have one more thing. I want to publish a statement in the newspaper to completely sever ties with the Xia family. Only by publishing this in the newspaper can I demonstrate my determination!"
