Chapter 116 Does My Word Count...?

Guan Wenru was still affected when she learned that He Yanzhi had been looking for a female comrade for four years.

However, she has lived a full life, so these emotional matters don't affect her much.

She continued doing what she was supposed to do for the next few days.

Early that morning, she went to herd livestock and ran into Che Xiaoni again.

"Wenru, my father told me to tell you, so don't worry, our production brigade will definitely accept Comrade Baiyun."

Guan Wenru smiled and said, "Thank you so much."

"Hey! Let's not be so polite between us." Che Xiaoni leaned closer to her mysteriously. "Guess what good news I have to tell you?"

Guan Wenru raised an eyebrow. "Your brother went on a blind date?"

"Hahahaha," Che Xiaoni laughed loudly, "How could you guess this... If only my brother would agree to go on a blind date! Unfortunately, he's never willing."

"So what's the good news you mentioned?"

Che Xiaoni stopped being mysterious and said, "My dad said that our production brigade didn't have a designated area for educated youth, so when they came, they were arranged to stay in the homes of herders."

If more educated youth come in the future, the commune will find a way to build educated youth settlements. It's a coincidence that my family has two empty yurts.

My parents said they'll arrange for your sister to stay in our yurt.

This was indeed good news, and Guan Wenru's smile widened even more. "That's wonderful! Xiaoni, thank you so much."

"Hey, I already told you, don't be so polite. Besides, I was thinking... since your sister will be living with us, you'll definitely come to visit her often, and then I can play with you more often."

Guan Wenru smiled and said, "Okay, whether my sister lives here or not, I will definitely visit you often."

"Huh?" Che Xiaoni blinked. "What do you mean? If your sister isn't staying here, where does she want to stay?"

“I’m afraid that my sister will be unfamiliar with the place and won’t dare to stay in the production brigade alone. If she doesn’t want to stay in the production brigade, I have spare rooms at my house anyway, so I’ll let her stay at my house.”

“I see.” Che Xiaoni was also a woman and could understand. She nodded. “Then it depends on your sister’s wishes. Anyway, she can stay anywhere.”

......

At noon, Lu Guodong and a new zookeeper had lunch and then came to relieve Guan Wenru.

Guan Wenru went home and had lunch first.

Instead of herding the sheep in the afternoon, she went to shear sheep with Wang Dagui and other herders.

Some sheep were not let out today in order to shear them.

Guan Wenru put on a medical mask and pushed open the creaking wooden door.

She got these masks from the health team.

Although she was wearing a mask, she could still smell a strong, warm, pungent odor as soon as she entered.

There were dozens of sheep in the sheepfold at this time. They were huddled together, their fluffy backs heaving and making bleating sounds.

Wang Dagui and the others, who were already in the sheep pen, greeted her as she entered, saying, "Xiao Guan, you're here."

"I'm here. How was the haircut?" As she spoke, Guan Wenru's gaze swept across the studio.

Several herders are 'fighting' with the sheep.

Because these sheep are not cooperating at all.

Wang Dagui was the only one who was skilled in the movements.

Seeing their reaction, Guan Wenru chuckled, “Everyone, bear with it. We need to get these sheep sheared before spring! Once they’re clean, they’ll be comfortable, and the wool will be stored away.”

Her gaze fell on Zhang Jianjun, who was the most nervous. "Be careful, don't let the hooves get their hands on you!"

Zhang Jianjun's face flushed red. "Okay!"

Guan Wenru had taught them how to cut hair before, so she didn't say anything more this time, as she had an electric clipper.

So now they run to a corner and start shearing the sheep from an angle where they can't see them.

After an unknown amount of time, the new sheep herders, Li Daniu and Sun Youfu, spotted a robust ewe with gray and white fur.

Li Daniu spread his large, fan-like hands and suddenly clamped down on the sheep's neck, while Sun Youfu quickly grabbed its two front hooves.

The ewe was startled and kicked frantically with her hind hooves, kicking up a cloud of grass and dust.

"Jianjun! Give us a hand, help us catch our hind legs!" Li Daniu roared.

Zhang Jianjun rushed over and, imitating Sun Youfu, awkwardly bent down to grab the ewe's frantically kicking hind legs.

The moment he touched that thick hoof, the ewe kicked out with all her might!

"Ouch!" The brand-new razor that Zhang Jianjun had just gripped flew out of his hand with a crisp "clang" and spun as it landed in a haystack a few steps away.

"Hahaha!" Another zookeeper, Wang Defa, burst into laughter.

He almost laughed the cigarette out of his hand.

Sun Youfu chuckled helplessly, "You little rascal! See? I told you to grab its paws, not to arm wrestle with it!"

The others couldn't help but laugh along.

Zhang Jianjun was both ashamed and embarrassed, his face turning a deep liver color.

He clutched his wrist and bent down to pick up the razor.

"Stop laughing, everyone!" Guan Wenru stood up at this point, her brows furrowed.

Her voice wasn't loud, but it was like an icicle falling to the ground, instantly silencing the laughter in the studio.

As soon as she spoke, she darted like an arrow to the side and behind the struggling ewe.

She slightly arched her body, swiftly tightened her left arm around the ewe's neck, and precisely pressed her right knee against the area below its shoulder blade.

Using her full weight and skillful maneuvering, she steadily pinned the frantically struggling ewe to the ground.

"Wang Defa!" Guan Wenru glared at him. "Put out your cigarette! Sheep are afraid of the heat!"

Her knees pressed firmly against the sheep's body, but the ewe continued to writhe in vain, pawing wildly with her hooves.

Wang Defa was stunned by this unquestionable order and subconsciously put out his cigarette.

"Da Niu!" Guan Wenru immediately gave the order, his voice carrying the crispness of a battlefield commander, "Press down its hind legs! Don't let it kick!"
