In the afternoon
Guan Wenru had just returned from the workshop when the office phone rang.
She picked up the microphone, "Hello, feed processing plant, Guan Wenru."
A hoarse, heavy voice came from the other end of the phone, "Wenru, it's me, Xi Mufan."
Guan Wenru's heart immediately jumped. "There's news?"
Xi Mufan's voice was filled with exhaustion and grief, "Yes... we found it. The scouts found it in the river."
Guan Wenru gripped the microphone tightly, her voice strained, "How is he? Is he still... alive?"
Xi Mufan paused for a moment, then said, "They're both gone. Che Zhenxing and Zhao Zhilang were found together, but they're both gone."

"I'll beat you to death, you idiot! How could you be so stupid! You associated with that kind of person... that kind of spy for over a month! Your brother... your brother died protecting you! Give me back my son! Give me back Zhenxing!"
She cried and cursed as she began to beat Che Xiaoni mercilessly.
Che Xiaoni offered no resistance, only breaking down in tears, sobbing, "Mom and Dad, I didn't know... I didn't know he was a bad person... He lied to me... He lied to me... Brother... Brother, I'm so sorry... I'm the one who hurt you... Waaah..."
