Back to Courtyard No. 1.
As soon as Guan Wenru and Bai Yun entered the house, three small figures rushed over like cannonballs and hugged Guan Wenru's legs tightly.
He Yi looked up and said, "Mom! You're back. You're late today..."
Guan Wenru smiled and patted their heads, "It is indeed a bit later than usual. Mom will try to get home on time in the future!"
He Qi raised an eyebrow, looking proud, "Mom, we finished all our homework by ourselves today!"
He Sheng nodded vigorously, "Mom, I wrote the fastest! Aren't I amazing?"
Guan Wenru smiled like a loving mother, patting each of their heads and praising them with a smile, "Wow!! Amazing! You're all amazing! Why are you being so well-behaved today?"
He Yi smiled and said, "Dad made us do this. If we don't finish our homework, he won't teach us how to fight."
At this moment, He Yanzhi came out of the kitchen with a smile. He gently massaged her shoulder with his uninjured right hand. "Dinner is ready. You can wash your hands and eat. There were a lot of things going on at the factory today, and then there was that farce at the gate. You must be exhausted."
Guan Wenru leaned closer to him, relaxed, and smiled. "It's alright, I can manage. You're injured, what should I cook?"
"It won't affect anything!" He Yanzhi patted the triplets' heads. "Go wash your hands and get ready to eat."
Bai Yun took the triplets to wash their hands. Guan Wenru went inside first to put down her bag. He Yanzhi followed behind her and said softly, "We'll go to distribute the grain tonight. I've discussed it with Wan Tao, and he's found the person who unpacked it."
Guan Wenru was a little surprised, then smiled and reached out to pinch his cheek, "Not bad, Commander He! You're quick! You haven't been idle while recovering from your injuries!"
He Yanzhi took her hand and said, “It concerns your health, so we can’t be careless. Everything is arranged. The military truck will be in place tonight. I’ve also coordinated with the division’s logistics department. They’ve cleared out an unused old military granary, which is absolutely well-hidden.”
"Once you get there, just release the grain. Wan Tao has already selected those fifty men; they're all honest, hardworking, and tight-lipped. Tonight, have them start unpacking and changing the sacks."
Guan Wenru put down her crossbody bag. "It's fine as long as you make the arrangements. It's better to resolve this sooner rather than later."
The two went outside to wash their hands, and the family ate dinner.
After dinner, the triplets didn't have to do homework today, so they played war games with He Yanzhi.
Guan Wenru and Bai Yun chatted inside the room, mainly Guan Wenru explaining some precautions to Bai Yun.
Bai Yun lives in the capital, and Xi Mufan is currently not receiving a salary, so Guan Wenru gave her some money and tickets.
The gold bars and other valuables couldn't be exposed yet, so Baiyun gave Guan Wenru all the gold bars and jewelry that Grandma Guan had given her, and she kept them for now.
It was almost time, so Baiyun went to sleep.
When Guan Wenru returned to the house, the triplets were already fast asleep.
He Yanzhi pulled her to sit down, and the two chatted about what happened at the factory that day.
As they chatted, He Yanzhi suddenly leaned closer, his voice low and tinged with amusement, "I was quick enough, does that count as doing you a favor? So... I'll give you a reward?"
Guan Wenru: "..."
She was speechless, and before she could say anything, he lowered his head and kissed her.
Guan Wenru responded to the kiss with a smile, which carried a hint of tenderness.
Just as the two were breathing heavily, the triplets on the kang (a heated brick bed) suddenly sat up.
Guan Wenru suddenly retreated.
The triplets blinked their big, curious eyes. "Mommy! Daddy! What are you doing?"
He Sheng rubbed his eyes, then stared intently at Guan Wenru. "Mom, your face is so red! Like a big apple!"
Guan Wenru's cheeks flushed even more, and she lightly slapped He Sheng's bottom, who was closest to her, in an annoyed tone. "What nonsense are you talking about! Go to sleep!"
She glared reproachfully at He Yanzhi, who was snickering beside her, "You! You caused all this trouble! Hurry up and get them to sleep!"
He Yanzhi suppressed a laugh, "Yes! I guarantee I'll complete the mission!"
Guan Wenru ignored them and quickly turned to leave, as she still needed to prepare a midnight snack for the fifty soldiers who would be working that night.
......
Two hours later, all was quiet except for the chirping of insects in the courtyard.
He Yanzhi secretly led Guan Wenru to a heavily guarded abandoned military warehouse area.
The huge warehouse was empty and dark, with only a few temporary electric lights casting a dim yellow glow.
He Yanzhi lowered his voice and pointed to the open space in the center of the warehouse, "This is it. It's spacious enough. I've checked it all. It's absolutely safe around here."
Guan Wenru nodded, "Okay!"
With a wave of her hand, she conjured up piles of neatly stacked supplies out of thin air on the open ground.
Boxes of compressed biscuits, square biscuit pieces wrapped in transparent film, instant noodles, dried noodles, bags of rice and flour, etc.
These items filled the warehouse almost instantly, exuding a modern industrial atmosphere that seemed out of place in this era.
Even though He Yanzhi was mentally prepared, his pupils still contracted slightly when he saw the "grain mountain" that appeared out of nowhere.
But he quickly calmed down and said, "This amount is enough! I'll calculate it right away and roughly distribute it according to the disaster situation and population of each commune."
"Okay!" Guan Wenru breathed a slight sigh of relief. "You arrange it. These packages are too conspicuous and must be disposed of."
After a while, He Yanzhi walked to the warehouse door and whispered an order to those outside, "Everyone come in!"
Fifty soldiers who had been waiting outside filed in. They were wearing uniform training clothes, with serious expressions and unwavering eyes, clearly having received strict instructions.
But when they saw the mountain of grain in the warehouse, with strange foreign letters and special packaging, they couldn't help but show their shock, though they were quickly restrained by discipline.
