Chapter 302 A Battle of Men

After Hua Xiaoyu and her family settled down, people privately discussed Hua Xiaoyu's divorce.

However, no matter what people say, Hua Xiaoyu remains unaffected.

As long as it doesn't affect her paychecks, everything else is negotiable!

Days passed by one by one.

This brings us to the middle of August.

On this holiday, He Yanzhi and Guan Wenru took the triplets to the market.

The August sun was scorching and bright, and the market was bustling with people.

The sounds of hawking, bargaining, and children's laughter mingled together, creating a vibrant atmosphere of daily life.

He Yanzhi carried several net bags filled with vegetables and daily necessities in one hand, and held the bouncy He Sheng tightly in the other.

Guan Wenru wasn't carrying anything; she was holding He Yi's hand on her left and He Qi's hand on her right.

He Sheng excitedly pointed to the sugar figurine stall, "Dad! Mom! Look! A big tiger sugar figurine!"

He Yi looked rather composed, but he still stared longingly, "And there's one of Sun Wukong!"

He Qi didn't seem interested, but he still glanced at it.

He Sheng blinked his big eyes, "Mom and Dad, can we see?"

Guan Wenru chuckled and looked at He Yanzhi, "Okay, but if you eat too much candy, your teeth will hurt. You can't eat any more when you get home tonight."

"Alright!"

The couple took their triplets with them.

He Yanzhi took out some change, "One for each of us."

The triplets immediately cheered.

Meanwhile, in an inconspicuous corner of the market, a man wearing a tattered undershirt and a straw hat was squatting on the ground.

In front of him were two wooden basins containing several half-dead fish whose gills were twitching.

He appeared to be dozing off, but in reality, his fierce eyes under the brim of his hat were constantly scanning the bustling crowd, eventually locking onto He Yanzhi and his family of five.

He was the one with the scarred face.

Another tall, thin man squatting nearby, pretending to pick out inferior tea leaves, would occasionally exchange glances with him.

The tall, thin man whispered almost without moving his lips as he offered a cigarette, "Boss, look how happy they are... They've been holding hands the whole time, they won't let go, this is going to be difficult."

Scarface stared intently at He Yanzhi's large hand, which remained resting on his youngest son's shoulder.

He then looked at Guan Wenru, who was constantly scanning her surroundings with a wary gaze.

He gritted his teeth in anger, "Damn it! Those two are quite cautious! They're watching their three little brats like they're eyeballs!"

He watched as He Yanzhi bent down to pay, and the faint outline beneath his military uniform at his waist clearly showed the shape of a sidearm.

He Yanzhi was already quite skilled, which was enough to make him wary.

The tall, thin man was getting anxious. "There are so many people, maybe we can squeeze through... Boss, are we still going to make a move today? This is a rare opportunity!"

Scarface thought for a moment, gritted his teeth, his cheeks taut, and squeezed out a voice from between his teeth, "What the hell are you talking about! You and I are no match for He Yanzhi! He's not just an ordinary soldier!"

Besides, he's armed! If we rush out now, not only will we fail to catch the young one, but we'll both be dead right here! We'll alert him, and then we'll have even less of a chance later!

He watched as He Yanzhi and his family finished buying the sugar figurines and continued chatting and laughing as they strolled on.

He Yanzhi and the woman's hands never left the three children, forming an invisible yet solid protective circle.

Scarface slammed his fist into his thigh in extreme frustration, lowering his head to hide the ferocity on his face. "Let's go! It's hopeless today! We'll find another chance! Damn it, I don't believe they can be this vigilant all the time! There will always be a moment when they let their guard down!"

Upon hearing this, the tall, thin man could only suppress his agitation and lower the brim of his hat.

Like ordinary vendors, the two quietly blended into the crowd and slipped away in the opposite direction from the He family's house.

The market was still bustling with activity, but He Yanzhi and his family, bathed in sunlight, were completely unaware of it.

The family of five continued to enjoy their precious time together.

However, as the family walked along, a gentle voice came from the side, "Director Guan, Commander He, what a coincidence, you're here to browse the market too?"

Guan Wenru turned around upon hearing the voice and saw Ning Yuanfang approaching them with a smile. She smiled back and greeted him, "Director Ning, yes, you're out with your child on your day off. Are you here to buy something too?"

Ning Yuanfang nodded, "Yes!"

When He Yanzhi saw Ning Yuanfang, his smile faded slightly, but he remained courteous and nodded, "Director Ning."

Ning Yuanfang nodded, his gaze falling on three identical little guys... licking sugar figurines.

His eyes lit up with delight. "These must be our factory's famous triplets, right? Seeing is believing, they're so adorable!"

Guan Wenru smiled and nudged the children, "He Yi, He Qi, He Sheng, call him Uncle Ning."

The triplets, licking their candies, obediently greeted, "Hello, Uncle Ning~"

"Oh!" Ning Yuanfang smiled so much that the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes deepened. "Good, good, good! You're such good kids! Uncle is happy just looking at you!"

He looked around and suddenly saw a vendor selling chicks nearby. The fluffy chicks in the bamboo baskets were chirping, "Come, come, Uncle will give you something fun!"

As he spoke, he walked to the stall, took out his money without saying a word, bought four chicks with their legs tied with thin ropes, and handed them to the triplets.

Guan Wenru quickly stopped her, "Hey! Director Ning! This won't do! We can't let you spend money! Take it back quickly!"

He Yanzhi also frowned, "Director Ning, you're too kind, there's no need for that."

Ning Yuanfang insisted on stuffing the rope into the hands of the three children, saying, "What's the big deal! It's only a few cents. I'm happy to see the children happy! Take it, raise them at home, they can even lay eggs!"
