Side Story: Guan Hongqi vs. Li Jing (5)

Li Jing knew Guan Wenru was a good person, so she gently shook her head. "Sister Wenru, it's all in the past. I'm doing fine now."

“Don’t lie to me,” Guan Wenru said earnestly, holding her hand. “I really like you. From the first time I saw you, I felt that you were destined to be with our Guan family. I’m not here today to force you to reconcile with Hongqi. Relationships are a matter between the two of you, and you can’t force them.”

She paused, looking at Li Jing with sincere eyes, "I promise you, no matter whether you and Hongqi end up together or not, you will always be my friend, Guan Wenru's friend, and a good girl that our Guan family likes and approves of. That will never change."

Li Jing was slightly touched by these words, and she nodded, "Thank you, Sister Wenru."

Guan Wenru looked at her and finally said softly, "I only hope that if... if that silly boy really realizes where he went wrong and can really change, and if the feelings between you are still there... could you, for my sake and for the sake of his clumsy but sincere heart, give him a chance to make amends? Just once. If he still can't seize the opportunity, then he deserves it, and I will no longer care about him."

Guan Wenru, having been through similar experiences, could tell that the two liked each other, but both were very proud.

Having experienced so much in her two lives, she knows better than anyone how precious time is, and how precious the days spent with her loved ones are. Therefore, she doesn't want her two children to miss out on this opportunity.

After hearing Guan Wenru's words, Li Jing remained silent for a moment. Images of Guan Hongqi's slightly red eyes, his serious profile in the library, and that warm embrace in the snowy night flashed before her eyes.

She finally softened and nodded gently to the older sister who had always treated her kindly. "Sister Wenru, I've remembered what you said."

She didn't give a clear answer, but that was the best response she could give.

Guan Wenru knew that Li Jing's heart, which had been tightly closed, had finally been opened a crack.

The rest depends on whether my silly younger brother can seize this last opportunity.

She squeezed Li Jing's hand tightly, everything was understood without words, "Let's not talk about anything else today, I'll take you to the mall."
