Chapter 151 Should I Get a Divorce?
"My leg is broken?" Howard frowned.
Feng Xiuhe looked him over again and noticed that he only had a bandage wrapped around his arm. She realized that the rumors had been spread incorrectly, and it seemed that Huo Hua was perfectly fine.
She thought Howard had become disabled.
People in the village really love to gossip. Even a small matter can be blown out of proportion by them. This time, she really didn't understand the situation clearly.
Upon seeing this, Mrs. Feng quickly said, "Huo Hua, so you're alright? That's wonderful! I thought something had happened to you. Everyone outside was saying that you had your leg broken in town. There aren't any doctors in town right now, and even a small injury can be fatal. I'm so relieved to see that you're alright."
Mr. Feng nodded and said, "Yes, as long as you're alright, that's all that matters. We don't know what those people outside are spreading, and they've all taken it seriously."
After hearing their explanation and considering what had happened, Howard could basically guess what was going on. The Feng family had heard that his leg was crippled, so they thought he was useless and decided to divorce him. They were afraid he would take over their property, so they moved all the slightly valuable things out of the house.
What a clever scheme...
He's not in any trouble yet, and they're already plotting against him. If something really happens to him, the consequences will be unimaginable.
Howard believed that he had done nothing wrong to them over the years. He knew that Feng Xiuhe had been subsidizing her family with the money, but he still acquiesced to it.
What happened today is truly disheartening.
When Feng Xiuhe saw the large items still in the yard, her face turned pale. She quickly said, "Huo Hua, let's move the things in right away."
Howard looked at her, his face cold: "So what exactly are you doing?"
Feng Xiuhe said awkwardly, "I thought your leg was crippled, so I wanted to raise some money to treat your illness. You know, we don't have much money at home, so I was thinking of selling all this furniture so we'd have money to take care of you."
This was something she came up with on a whim. She didn't know if Howard would believe her, but she had to explain it properly. After all, since Howard was alright, she didn't plan to get a divorce.
She doesn't have high expectations for marriage. Howard is now willing to support them financially, and she feels that her life is pretty good. So, she has no need to get a divorce.
"Is that so?" Howard looked at him suspiciously, his expression cold, and strode in, his tone equally icy.
Howard has always been gentle; he has never lost his temper with her over the years, but now he has truly changed.
A sense of panic welled up inside Feng Xiuhe.
She looked at Mr. and Mrs. Feng and said, "Hurry up and move your things inside."
A hint of dissatisfaction flashed across Mr. and Mrs. Feng's faces; they were clearly unwilling to do so.
The reason is simple: if these things are moved out, the money from the sale will be theirs. They worked so hard to move their things out, and now they're being asked to move them back in, which would be a waste of their time.
Besides, whether Howard gets into trouble or not has nothing to do with them; they just want more money.
Huo's mother said with dissatisfaction, "Didn't Huo Hua used to listen to you like a log? How come he's changed like this now? Do you think he's changed his mind?"
Feng Xiuhe's heart tightened, and she quickly said, "He could never have changed his mind!"
She said unhappily, "I felt that the money was not enough, so I told him to ask Huo Chenzhou for more money. When he married me before, Huo Chenzhou was willing to pay a high dowry, but now that Huo Chenzhou is married, it must be because of this that his wife is unwilling to pay, so it didn't work out, and Huo Hua blamed me for this."
"In the end, everyone is selfish. If Huo Chenzhou hadn't gotten married, he would have been willing to give all his money to Huo Hua. His wife is just a capitalist's daughter. She spends a lot of money and is also petty. She must have been the one whispering in Huo Chenzhou's ear."
Mother Huo said, "So that's how it is. This matter needs to be considered carefully. Let's take it slowly. Don't worry, we will help you."
"Okay." Feng Xiuhe felt a surge of warmth in her heart.
No matter how Howard treats her, it doesn't matter, because her family will always stand by her side, always give her advice, and be her strong support.
Feng Xiuhe said, "Dad, Mom, let's move these things inside now."
These things were too heavy. It took a lot of effort to move that cabinet into the yard. She wasn't strong enough to carry the things inside by herself.
However, Mr. and Mrs. Feng's eyes darted around, and they said, "Xiuhe, since these things have already been brought out, why don't you just sell them all? That way, you can get some money. You have a child now, and you need money for everything. The money Huo Hua gave you isn't enough. It's good to sell these things. Besides, I don't think Huo Hua's attitude towards you is good. He doesn't seem to be on your side."
Feng Xiuhe's face was pale. Huo Hua's attitude towards her just now was indeed very bad, which made her feel uncomfortable as well.
but……
"Dad, Mom, what are you talking about? Huo Hua is back now, so naturally I'm going to live with him. How can you move all your things out now?" Feng Xiuhe asked, puzzled.
All the slightly valuable furniture in the house has been moved out; she still has to live there.
Feng's mother came to see Feng Xiuhe this time because she wanted some money, since Feng Xiuhe's younger brother was about to get married. However, she couldn't afford to offend Feng Xiuhe too much, otherwise, what would she do if Feng Xiuhe stopped giving them money in the future?
She coughed and said, "With Howard's attitude, are you sure he'll live a good life with you? Who knows, he might file for divorce as soon as you go in, and then you'll get nothing."
“He dares!” Feng Xiuhe said.
But when she thought about what she had done, she began to feel guilty.
She didn't know what Howard was thinking.
She betrayed him today, and now she's going to move all her belongings out of the house.
Howard will definitely not forgive her easily.
What if Howard really files for divorce?
She didn't really want a divorce.
If Howard were disabled, she would definitely leave immediately. After all, couples are like birds in the same forest; when disaster strikes, they fly away separately. But the problem is that Howard is perfectly fine now.
"Alright, you don't need to think about it anymore. I'll have your dad move his things out first, so even if we get divorced, you'll have some security," said Mrs. Feng.
