Chapter 378 Wanting to Get a Regular Job
Lin Jidong said, "Who are you? I am his uncle. It's not a problem for me to teach him a few words."
Chun Ya frowned and said, "Even if you are his uncle, you can't treat him like this. He's just a child. You're bullying him."
She could see it clearly: Lin Jidong's attitude towards Sun Xiangyang was terrible; that was not how an uncle would treat a child.
She couldn't stand seeing anyone bully children.
Just then, Sun Baojun appeared. He paused for a moment, then asked, "Who bullied Xiangyang?"
Huo Chunyan treated Sun Xiangyang very well. Because of her attitude, everyone treated Sun Xiangyang very well, and no one ever bullied him.
Chun Ya immediately said, "It was him. He called Xiang Yang a mute."
Lin Jidong was surprised that Chun Ya, who looked so gentle and weak, would speak the truth so directly, giving him no time to react. He could only quickly explain, "I didn't scold him. I'm also the child's uncle. I was just joking with him. I didn't mean anything by it. Besides, I'm his uncle, and he didn't even greet me. He's just being impolite."
Chun Ya said, "Xiang Yang won't call you because you're not nice to him. He may be young, but he can tell these things. If you don't want to talk, I'll say you're mute. Would you like that?"
Lin Jidong said angrily, "Don't talk so rudely. Who are you calling mute?"
Chun Ya said, "I was just giving an example. You were so angry. That's exactly how you treated Xiang Yang just now."
Lin Jidong was an easily angered person, and after being inexplicably insulted by a stranger, he was very unhappy. He asked Sun Baojun, "Who is this person? This is really strange. I am Xiangyang's uncle. What's wrong with me saying a few words to Xiangyang? Why does she have to interfere so much?"
He thought Sun Baojun would side with him, but to his surprise, Sun Baojun just glanced at him indifferently and ignored him.
Lin Jidong felt a chill in his heart. He had come here to see Sun Baojun, and it seemed that this man knew Sun Baojun and had a good relationship with him. He seemed to be someone that was impossible to offend.
Sun Baojun's demeanor suggested that he was siding with the girl.
Actually, Sun Baojun had just arrived and had no idea what had happened, but after they told him, he was able to understand some of it.
Of course he believed Chun Ya. Chun Ya had just arrived and had no vested interests with them. She wouldn't lie. Judging from how protective she was of Sun Xiangyang, it was clear that she was simply kind-hearted. As for Lin Jidong, he didn't want Sun Xiangyang in the first place and even tried to abandon the child. It was impossible for him to treat Sun Xiangyang well now.
Sun Baojun said, "If you don't treat Xiangyang well, then don't contact him anymore. Anyway, I don't think he likes you very much."
He spoke very coldly. He didn't want to have too much to do with Lin Jidong. Even though he was Sun Xiangyang's uncle, Sun Baojun didn't like the things he did to the children.
It was only because Huo Chunyan didn't want things to get too ugly, and even took the initiative to find Lin Jidong a job, that he was somewhat willing to get along peacefully with Lin Jidong.
But he only maintained a superficial peace and had no intention of developing a deeper relationship with Lin Jidong.
Seeing Sun Baojun's bad attitude, Lin Jidong was also angry. He originally wanted to turn around and leave, but thinking that he had already come and brought a gift, he still handed over the cookies: "I came to see Xiangyang today. I know he has been through a lot and his heart must have changed a bit, but it's okay. With us, his relatives, by his side, he will feel better."
Sun Baojun didn't want to take the biscuits. He said, "You should take the biscuits back and eat them yourself. As for Xiangyang, I will take good care of him. You don't need to come to see him often."
They're both adults, and he made himself very clear; Lin Jidong should be able to understand him.
He didn't want to have anything to do with Lin Jidong. Huo Chunyan had found Lin Jidong a job, actually hoping that he would break off his relationship with Sun Xiangyang. But he actually came looking for her again.
Lin Jidong seemed oblivious to Sun Baojun's hostility. He went straight into the house and sat down, saying, "These cookies are a token of my appreciation. You must accept them. Chunyan helped me find a job, which is why I have an income now. I am very grateful to you."
His wife taught him to say that. He used to disdain such polite words, but now that he noticed Sun Baojun's attitude towards him wasn't very good, and considering that he still had something to ask of him later, he decided to say something nicer.
To avoid Sun Baojun kicking him out in a fit of anger.
Sun Baojun didn't care about the box of cookies. Although cookies were a rare commodity these days, he and Huo Chunyan had high incomes and could easily afford them. He didn't mind if Lin Jidong wanted to give them to him.
He was just curious about what Lin Jidong had come here for.
He didn't believe Lin Jidong was just visiting.
Lin Jidong didn't say what he was there for a long time. He actually just wanted Sun Baojun to give him a different job.
Get a better job.
He hasn't worked for many years, and as he gets older, he can't find a good job. In fact, his relatives have been helping him find work over the years, but he is picky and always complains about this and that, so in the end he didn't agree to any of them.
Although he agreed to help Huo Chunyan find him a job, he was still unhappy inside.
He felt that the job he used to do paid quite well. Back then, he was a construction worker who worked hard and was respected by everyone. If it weren't for the accident that prevented him from doing such strenuous work, he wouldn't have ended up in this situation.
Even after all these years, he still feels resentful, always feeling that he could find a better job.
He felt that he should at least get a permanent job in a factory.
Thinking of this, Lin Jidong didn't care about anything else. He was afraid that if he missed this opportunity, it would be even more difficult to bring it up later. So he said directly, "Comrade Sun, it's like this. I came here this time because I hope you can help me with something, and only you can help me."
He actually thought Huo Chunyan was easier to talk to, and he was also looking for Huo Chunyan everywhere.
Sun Baojun saw through his thoughts and said calmly, "Chunyan isn't here. She took her daughter to the clinic for a checkup. If you need anything, just tell me."
Lin Jidong was somewhat disappointed. He didn't like the job, but it was Huo Chunyan who found it for him. He thought it would be easier to find another job if Huo Chunyan helped him find one again.
