Chapter 355 Adopting this child
As long as Sun Baojun doesn't have a child outside the marriage and doesn't use the child to deceive her, that's fine.
Huo Chunyan said to him, "I want to eat shredded pork with green peppers."
"Okay, I'll go do it right away." Sun Baojun hurried to the kitchen to get busy.
As long as Huo Chunyan was still willing to eat the food he cooked, their relationship was able to improve. After the meal, Huo Chunyan went to see her daughter.
The daughter is tiny, fair and soft. Although she is smaller than other babies, Huo Chunyan has taken good care of her, and she is now quite plump.
Huo Chunyan pinched her little foot and kissed it. The little baby knew her mother was kissing her, so she turned her head and smiled at her. Huo Chunyan was immediately softened by her smile. She coaxed her daughter for a while, and after her daughter fell asleep, she went outside.
Outside, Sun Baojun was smoking. He had smoked before they got married, but he rarely did. After they got married, Huo Chunyan didn't like the smell of smoke, so he quit. Now, he's started again.
Huo Chunyan frowned.
Sun Baojun quickly stubbed out his cigarette in a few swift movements, and asked in a panic, "Why did you come out?"
He thought Huo Chunyan had gone inside to sleep.
Huo Chunyan said, "How can I go back to sleep when this matter hasn't been resolved yet?"
Sun Baojun remained silent.
He caused this whole thing, and he shouldn't have made Huo Chunyan take the blame.
Huo Chunyan didn't actually think it was a big deal.
Even if it takes some time and money to settle the benefactor's child, that's not a problem; we can just take it slow.
When she learned that Sun Baojun had not betrayed her, she breathed a sigh of relief and stopped blaming him. Moreover, she could understand Sun Baojun's thoughts; it was normal for him to want to repay his benefactor. If it were her, she would not have ignored it either.
She just felt that Sun Baojun didn't consult with her.
They are husband and wife. No matter what happens, they should tell her. They can solve any difficulties together instead of hiding things from her and making her speculate.
Although Sun Baojun's behavior was meant to keep her from worrying, she still felt that he didn't trust her.
Although she was no longer angry, she was still somewhat bothered by it.
Seeing that Huo Chunyan remained silent, Sun Baojun began to apologize. He knew that he was in the wrong and that Huo Chunyan was right to be angry with him. Now that Huo Chunyan was no longer mentioning divorce, he breathed a sigh of relief. He said, "Chunyan, I'm really sorry. I know I should have told you about this sooner, but I was too confused at the time and didn't know how to handle it, which is why I hurt you."
He spoke at length, and even when Huo Chunyan remained silent, he still maintained a strong stance.
Huo Chunyan was a soft-hearted person to begin with, and seeing Sun Baojun's good attitude, she had actually calmed down a lot.
She looked at Sun Baojun and suddenly asked, "Who is that woman?"
Sun Baojun was taken aback: "Who?"
Huo Chunyan then described the woman she had seen. That woman was talking very intimately with Sun Baojun, and they were even holding hands with their son.
Her tone was also tinged with sarcasm: "I see you two have a very good relationship."
Sun Baojun quickly explained, "That's the nanny I hired for my child. I don't know her well. You've misunderstood."
He found it both funny and frustrating. He never expected Huo Chunyan to misunderstand this matter, but he wasn't guilty at all. He had just randomly hired that woman to take care of the child because he couldn't find a suitable person. A friend introduced him to her, so he quickly spent money to hire someone.
Huo Chunyan said, "But she's quite pretty."
"Was she pretty?" Sun Baojun asked in shock. "At the time, I just wanted to find someone to take care of the child. I didn't pay any attention to what she looked like. To be honest, I don't even remember what she looked like now."
What Sun Baojun said was true.
He just thought the woman took good care of the child. Their relationship was purely employer-employee. He didn't care about her appearance at all, as long as her looks didn't scare the child.
However, he still enjoyed Huo Chunyan's jealousy, but he couldn't stand her being too jealous.
He didn't want to hurt Huo Chunyan's feelings.
Huo Chunyan listened to his explanation clearly and snorted: "Anyway, I don't think she's good enough. She keeps leaning on you, and you haven't refused her."
Sun Baojun immediately protested his innocence, saying that his attention was entirely on the child and he hadn't noticed the nanny at all. He quickly assured her, "If you don't like her, I'll find someone else to take care of the child. I'll find someone older and less attractive."
Huo Chunyan felt much better. She glanced at Sun Baojun and snorted, "That's not necessary. Don't make it sound like I'm being unreasonable."
Sun Baojun said with a forced smile, "It's my own request. I don't really like this nanny, so I want to change her."
He was gentle and good-tempered, and always spoke softly and humbly, so Huo Chunyan's anger had long since dissipated.
She then asked, "One last question, why does that child call you 'Dad'?"
She heard it herself, and Sun Baojun couldn't deny it.
Sun Baojun said with a serious expression, "He has no parents, and his relatives don't want him. I saw that he was in a bad mood, so I comforted him. Then he asked me if I could call him Dad. I thought I might as well be his godfather, so I agreed."
"Okay." Huo Chunyan nodded.
Sun Baojun carefully observed her expression: "If you don't like it, I'll remind him not to call out to you."
He was also soft-hearted. The child was only two years old and had lost his parents, which was really pitiful. So when the child called him "Dad," he responded.
If I had known Huo Chunyan would misunderstand me like this, sigh...
Huo Chunyan said, "I wouldn't argue with a two-year-old child. You're overthinking it."
Sun Baojun looked down at her and said, "Thank you for not blaming me."
He stared at Huo Chunyan, making sure she truly didn't care about the matter, before letting out a soft sigh of relief.
Huo Chunyan said, "Why don't we adopt him?"
"Huh?" Sun Baojun was completely stunned.
He thought he had misheard and asked incredulously, "What did you just say?"
Huo Chunyan said seriously, "Didn't you want to find someone to adopt that child? But it's not that easy to find someone, and it costs money and energy. Why don't we adopt him? Besides, our daughter is still young, so we can find her a companion and let this child grow up with her."
After becoming a mother, she couldn't bear to see children wandering outside. The child was also quite young, so she simply raised him as well.
Sun Baojun and Huo Chunyan have no financial pressure. Both of them have formal jobs and a considerable monthly income, so raising another child would not be a problem.
