Chapter Fifteen: Yun Tangyin Turns the Tables

Back at the Fu family's old residence, Yun Tangyin didn't say anything more to Fu Yucheng.

Instead, he took the money and went upstairs to his room.

At the corner of the stairs, Yun Tangyin brushed past the old man with the broom, only glancing at him once.

The old man kept his head down obediently and remained silent, appearing extremely respectful.

Yun Tangyin returned to her room, glancing at the old man who had walked away before closing the door, but still put the money away first.

I don't know why...

Yun Tangyin looked at the room and felt that something was not quite right.

It seems someone came in and rummaged through her things, then carefully put them back in their place.

The reason Yun Tangyin could sense something was wrong was because she had some little-known habits when packing her things; she could keenly notice even the slightest movement of something.

At first glance, it seemed like nothing was missing, but the more this was the case, the more Yun Tangyin felt something was amiss.

Why would someone go through her things?

After thinking it over carefully, Yun Tangyin closed her eyes and used Taobao Space to check all the items in the room.

No less.

There were even more.

A jade bracelet was hidden under the pillow on the bed.

Yun Tangyin casually used Taobao Space to estimate the price. It was a very old jadeite with excellent clarity, making it an antique bracelet worth around 700,000 yuan.

Knowing that the prices on Taobao Space are based on modern prices, Yun Tangyin was stunned when she saw the 700,000 words.

Such an expensive bracelet...

Who hid in her house to frame her as a thief?

Yun Tangyin held the bracelet and looked at it, trying hard to recall what plot details in the book were related to it.

The only thing she could recall was that just before the original owner, Yun Tangyin, and Fu Yucheng were about to get married, the old lady of the Fu family noticed that Xu Runli, who came to attend the wedding, was wearing a bracelet on her wrist. She then paused the wedding and took Xu Runli to an inner room for questioning.

Then Xu Runli was left in the Fu family, and from then on, the old lady of the Fu family treated Xu Runli even better than Yun Tangyin.

But what exactly happened inside the room, and what was the bracelet all about, was not written in the book, and Yun Tangyin knew absolutely nothing about it.

Even now, Yun Tangyin is not sure if the bracelet in the story is actually this one.

Yun Tangyin thought about it carefully. No matter what, the bracelet was "hidden" in her room.

That means it didn't appear for nothing; there must be a story behind it.

She should have responded to each move as it came.

Yun Tangyin didn't hide it under her pillow, but instead put it in her Taobao space.

He also put the money he got from Xu Rong into the space; nothing is safer than keeping it in the space.

Yun Tangyin didn't think about it any further.

It's already past 8 p.m., and she doesn't have much of an appetite. After finishing her meal, she changed her clothes, washed up, and prepared to rest.

Lying in bed, Yun Tangyin sorted through the events of the past two days in her mind, breathed a sigh of relief, closed her eyes, and fell asleep.

She was still asleep the next day.

Then we heard a commotion outside, growing louder and louder.

"Young Master! Young Master...that belongs to the Old Madam..."

It sounds like that old man's voice.

Yun Tangyin couldn't hear clearly, and since she was still not fully awake, she pulled the blanket up and continued sleeping.

"Young Master, we must conduct a thorough investigation. Every room must be searched, otherwise..."

The old man's voice rang out from outside the door.

It didn't seem like they were searching the whole house; it was more like they were targeting her room, as if they wanted Fu Yucheng to kick the door open and rush in to search for stolen goods the next second.

Yun Tangyin frowned.

The door was indeed opened.

The old man's tone was clearly urgent: "Young Master, I've searched all the other rooms, but I haven't searched Miss Yun's room yet..."

Fu Yucheng stood at the door, looking at Yun Tangyin who was still asleep, his brows furrowed.

He couldn't help but scold in a low voice, "What kind of behavior is this!"

Yinyin was still asleep when the old man acted like he'd caught a thief red-handed.

Fu Yucheng stepped aside to block the doorway, and with an extremely gentlemanly gesture, reached out to close the door again.

However, Yun Tangyin had already pulled down the covers and sat up, her brows furrowed tightly.

It's not that she doesn't want to continue sleeping, it's that this way she can't sleep even if she wants to!

Yun Tangyin could guess what the plot was all about. She put on her slippers and casually brushed her long, black hair off her shoulder. "Anyway, I'm already awake, so don't close the door. Come in."

Her voice was soft and languid, as if she had just woken up, with a slightly seductive tone at the end, which made Fu Yucheng's ears turn slightly red when he opened the door and came in.

Fu Yucheng glanced at the old man beside him with displeasure.

"Yinyin... I'm sorry to have disturbed your rest, I..."

Before Fu Yucheng could finish speaking, the old man interrupted him urgently: "Young Master! That belongs to the Old Madam..."

But before he could finish his sentence, Fu Yucheng's gaze silenced him.

If it weren't for his advanced age and the fact that he was a loyal servant left behind by the family elders, Fu Yucheng would never have given him the chance to disturb Yun Tangyin's sleep.

Let alone a bracelet, even if Yun Tangyin emptied the entire Fu family, Fu Yucheng wouldn't utter a single word.

But now that the disturbance had already occurred, Fu Yucheng's first reaction was to apologize: "I'm sorry."

Yun Tangyin waved her hand: "It's okay, just say what's on your mind."

Unlike Fu Yucheng, the old man wasn't afraid of upsetting Yun Tangyin. He stepped forward and said, "Our Fu family's matriarch's things have been lost. These past two days, only you, Miss Yun, have been coming and going from the Fu family. To dispel any suspicion, please cooperate, Miss Yun."

Yun Tangyin was so angry she laughed.

Sure enough, that's how he became a thief.

Yun Tangyin stood up, walked to the door, and yawned: "How interesting. You suspect your guests just because something went missing from your house?"

Fu Yucheng frowned, wanting to explain, but Yun Tangyin continued, "But let's make this clear first, I'm willing to cooperate, but if it turns out that I didn't take the item and it's not even with me, shouldn't you give me an explanation?"

Before the old man could speak, Fu Yucheng had already nodded: "Of course, the Fu family never mistreats its honored guests."

He was 100% certain that Yun Tangyin hadn't taken the item.

This is trust.

However, he also hoped that Yun Tangyin wouldn't leave a bad reputation among the servants of the Fu family's old mansion over such a trivial matter.

Therefore, his attitude was that searching was fine, but the results of the search had to be given to Yun Tangyin.

This was exactly what Yun Tangyin wanted.

She nodded: "That's good. If we can't find anything, old man... you know what to do, right?"

Yun Tangyin originally wanted him to apologize in public or something, but the old man was quite temperamental.

With a stiff neck and a very confident expression, the old man said directly: "Your room is the only one that hasn't been searched. If the things aren't with you, you don't need to say anything. I'll kowtow to you and admit my mistake, then resign and go back to my hometown to farm and retire!"

Yun Tangyin immediately gave Fu Yucheng a look that said, "Did you hear that?"
