Chapter 23 No One Will Have an Easy Time (1/2)

Liang Dongmei stared at Director Liu of the tail-cutting association, her face full of disbelief: "This, this, how did you know? This is not my house at all."

“We’ve already investigated everything thoroughly,” Director Liu slammed his hand on the table. “Comrade Liang, there’s something seriously wrong with your thinking; you’re not even going to confess!”

"Your daughter has confessed; she was the one who led our comrades to inspect the property." Director Liu changed the subject abruptly. "You should learn from your daughter; you need to read the Red Book carefully."

After a half-day of ideological education, Liang Dongmei was finally released from the tail-cutting meeting.

Upon exiting the dark little house and seeing the sunlight, Liang Dongmei instinctively shielded her eyes with her hand.

Her heart was also in turmoil.

She never imagined that it would be Lu Wenshan who would give up her properties.

She clearly didn't tell Lu Wenshan the locations of the other houses, so how did she know?

After taking a few steps, Liang Dongmei almost fell to the ground.

Barely managing to stand, tears welled up and streamed down my face.

She's finished!

There's nothing left.

They were also to be sent down to cowsheds in the far northwest.

I'll spend the rest of my life there.

Thinking about it, she went to find Grandpa Su and Grandma Su while crying.

As soon as she entered the villa, Liang Dongmei knelt down: "Dad, Mom, I was wrong, I was so wrong, so very wrong, can you forgive me just this once...?"

She burst into tears.

Heartbroken.

Grandpa Su was still a little confused: "What happened? How did you end up like this? What happened?"

Their daughter-in-law has always looked down on the Su family.

They felt that the Su family were capitalists and the exploiting class.

But when it comes to spending the Su family's money, they never hesitate.

If it weren't for the fact that she gave birth to Jiaojiao, a daughter for Su Zhiyuan, the Su family would have sent her away long ago.

They've raised me to this day; that's the ultimate act of kindness and compassion.

"Dad, Mom, you..." Liang Dongmei paused, "Jiaojiao, I didn't tell you!"

She was quite surprised too.

In her opinion, her affair with Lu Yuehou should be exposed immediately.

Her ungrateful daughter didn't do that.

"What on earth happened?" Old Mrs. Su asked anxiously. "What happened to Jiaojiao? Has that boy from the Fu family still not woken up? Or... did Jiaojiao really divorce him? Did the Fu family retaliate against you?"

Grandma Su was so anxious that her face turned pale: "Stop crying, tell me quickly."

At this moment, Liang Dongmei didn't know how to start the conversation.

She hesitated for only a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, "Yes, Jiaojiao won't listen to advice and insists on divorcing Jingchen. The Fu family is now targeting my daughter and me. Dad, Mom, here's what we're going to do: quickly give me the evidence of our Su family's donations to various places and the country, and I'll go save Jiaojiao."

"This, Jiaojiao..." Old Mrs. Su stopped herself from saying what she was about to say.

Looking up, I saw Su Jiaojiao and Fu Jingchen.

The two were holding hands, looking very affectionate.

Su Jiaojiao wore a pearl-colored cheongsam studded with diamonds, her hair styled in a bun, looking as beautiful as if she had stepped out of a painting.

Fu Jingchen, dressed in military uniform, stood tall and straight, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, exuding a powerful aura, handsome and dashing.

“Mom, who said Jingchen and I are divorced? I love him so much, how could I bear to divorce him?” Su Jiaojiao interrupted Liang Dongmei, then asked, “Has the burglary at our house been resolved? Has the thief been caught?”

Grandpa Su and Grandma Su didn't care about Liang Dongmei anymore, they both looked at Fu Jingchen with smiles: "Jingchen is awake, that's great, that's great!"

"I knew it! Jiaojiao wouldn't be so reckless. How could she divorce Jingchen?" Old Master Su wasn't really sure. He knew his granddaughter's temperament very well.

Taking care of a paralyzed person, who may never wake up, is not in his granddaughter's nature.
