Upon hearing her third uncle's voice, Jiang Si thought she was hallucinating.
Until the Third Uncle's powerful voice rang out again, calling out "Si Yatou" (a nickname for a girl).
Jiang Si looked in the direction of the sound and saw two familiar figures standing below the mural.
Even though it had only been three months since they last met, the sight of the two old men huddled together, craning their necks and staring at him longingly filled the moment.
Jiang Si couldn't help but tear up.
"Third Uncle! Uncle Zhong!"
"Hey, slow down! Be careful not to fall, Huo boy, grab him right now."
Seeing her so careless and impulsive, her third uncle felt both distressed and angry.
When the two walked up to her, the Third Uncle angrily poked Jiang Si's forehead with his hand.
"You, you don't even watch your step when you walk! What if you slip and fall on such a tall ladder?"
After saying that, she glared at Huo Tingzhou again, "You too! Are you just going to let her act so recklessly?"
"Third Uncle, you are right."
Huo Tingzhou didn't argue. He took the luggage from the two of them and stepped aside, giving them plenty of space to talk.
Jiang Si sniffed and reached out to hug her third uncle's arm.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming? Were you tired on the way?"
"Look at how energetic I am, do I look tired?"
As he spoke, Third Uncle smoothed his hair, his arrogant expression barely concealed.
Jiang Si then noticed that her third uncle's hair, which had been half white, had now turned jet black and shiny.
Then I looked at his rosy complexion and full of energy.
Jiang Si felt much more at ease.
It seems that Uncle San has been drinking quite a bit of the spirit spring wine he left behind these past few months.
As expected, after Uncle Zhong and the young man had finished their conversation, the familiar scene of complaining began again.
“Miss Sisi, the old man has already drunk more than half of the jar of wine you left behind last time.”
"It was supposed to be just a small sip a day, but it's turned into a big gulp every day..."
"You, you, you..."
The third uncle was so angry that he covered his mouth.
"Shut up! On this joyous occasion, can't you say a few less words to make me happy?"
"Si girl, don't listen to him, I only drank a tiny bit too much..."
Uncle Zhong didn't speak, he just kept shaking his head.
Seeing this, Jiang Si smiled and said, "Alright, alright, let Uncle Zhong go first."
Thank goodness it was wine infused with spiritual spring water, otherwise Jiang Si would definitely have been furious with him!
Now, we can only turn a blind eye.
Perhaps fearing that Uncle Zhong would hold a grudge against him, the Third Uncle loosened his grip and quickly straightened his cotton-padded coat.
"Ah Zhong, quickly take some photos for me."
Upon hearing this, Jiang Si was surprised. Wasn't her third uncle usually the one who hated taking pictures the most?
Every time a photo is taken, the old man's expression is one of utter agony.
Surprisingly, they can now perform the poses skillfully.
Seeing her puzzled look, Uncle Zhong explained while fiddling with the camera.
“Miss Sisi, ever since the old man found out you were going to have a banquet, he’s been practicing how to smile in front of the mirror every day at home.”
So that's how it is.
Jiang Si felt a warmth in her heart upon hearing this, and Huo Tingzhou also put down his luggage at that moment.
He took the camera from Uncle Zhong's hand.
"Let me take your picture. Stand still, and I'll take some photos for you."
Jiang Si nodded and immediately stood between her third uncle and Uncle Zhong, then took their arms on either side.
All three of them were smiling broadly.
Jiang Si rarely smiles while working, so this sudden smile was a stark contrast to her usual aloof demeanor.
Many people were drawn to her smile, including members of the large mural team who were finishing up.
Seeing that everyone had gathered around, Huo Tingzhou asked her in a low voice.
"Would you like to take a picture with your team members as a souvenir?"
Jiang Si nodded immediately upon hearing this.
She took on this task on a whim, and now that it's over, she doesn't know when they'll meet again.
Moreover, during the time she was in the mural group, the members took good care of her.
Soon, all the members of the large mural group heard the news that they were going to take a group photo.
Everyone was very excited about this, and they all started fixing their clothes and hair.
The other group members who came to watch the spectacle couldn't help but start discussing it amongst themselves when they saw this scene.
"Sigh, why am I not so lucky? If only I had worked harder back then and been assigned to the large mural group."
"It can't be that serious. It's just taking a photo. There's a People's Photo Studio right next door."
"If you want to take a picture, you can do it for a few cents."
"Fatty, is this a problem with taking pictures?" The man gave his companion a look that said, "You don't understand."
The man named Big Fatty scratched his head. "If it's not a problem with taking pictures, what else could it be?"
Before the man could even speak, the other man said with an air of composure.
"You don't know this, do you? I heard that the team leader, Jiang, handled all of the preliminary drafts and coloring work for their large mural project."
"The other members just come here every day to help out, like bringing water upstairs."
"Tell me, is this job easy or not?"
Big Fatty was stunned for a moment, "Is there really such a good thing?"
"Of course!"
The man pointed and said, "See those people standing next to Chairman Zhou? They're reporters from the National Daily. Just wait and see, this mural is sure to become a nationwide sensation."
