Jiang Si was also troubled by this matter.
So much so that she was somewhat distracted throughout lunch with Chris.
"What's wrong with you?" Chris ate more than twenty roast duck rolls in one go.
Seeing that Jiang Si was still in a daze, he couldn't help but wave his hand in front of her.
Jiang Si snapped out of her reverie. "It's nothing. I was just thinking about work."
Chris placed the rolled-up roast duck into her bowl. "Eat it quickly, it won't taste good when it gets cold."
Jiang Si smiled, feeling as if her words had been stolen.
"By the way, after dinner, do you have anything else to do?" Chris asked.
Jiang Si swallowed what was in her mouth before replying, "Is there something you need?"
Chris readily admitted it.
She does have something on her mind.
She noticed this when she arrived; the hospital where Chi Heng was located wasn't far from here.
He's been in the hospital for several days, and Chris wants to go see him.
Jiang Si didn't say anything about it being inappropriate to visit the sick person in the afternoon.
Last time, they went late at night.
It's not like we'll miss this opportunity.
Seeing that she nodded in agreement, Chris breathed a sigh of relief.
However, going empty-handed is obviously not a good idea.
After finishing their meal, the two went to a state-run grocery store next to the hospital to buy some fruit.
While Chris wasn't looking, Jiang Si replaced these with the ones from the space.
Upon arriving at Chi Heng's floor, Jiang Si spotted two suspicious-looking strangers in the corridor.
Both of them held newspapers and stood guard near the stairwell, one on each side.
Ever since they were taken to the police station and given a good scolding by the officers, these few lackeys who were responsible for keeping an eye on Chi Heng have become much more well-behaved.
When Chi Heng was hospitalized, the group spent a long time passing the buck to each other.
They finally picked these two unlucky guys.
They were supposed to be there to monitor, but the two of them only dared to stand far away, afraid that the nurses at the hospital would mistake them for suspicious individuals.
Perhaps they had received some prior instructions, because the two of them didn't react much when they saw Jiang Si.
I glanced at it furtively, then looked away.
"You go in first." As they approached the ward door, Chris suddenly stopped and whispered.
Before Jiang Si could react, she saw the woman blink rapidly at her and then clutch her stomach.
"Oh dear, my stomach is a little upset. Where's the restroom?"
“Over there,” Jiang Si pointed in a direction.
"I'm going now." With that, Chris dashed off like a gust of wind.
Watching her disappearing figure, Jiang Si couldn't help but smile.
As if hearing the noise outside, the door opened inwards the next second.
Upon seeing Jiang Si, Uncle Da's face instantly lit up with a smile. "Miss Jiang, what brings you here?"
After asking the question, I realized how stupid it was.
Miss Jiang came here, so she must have come specifically to see the young master.
He quickly stepped aside, "Young Master, Miss Jiang has come to see you."
Chi Heng had just had medicine powder applied to his back and was lying face down on the bed. Upon hearing Uncle Da's voice, he instinctively wrapped the thin blanket around himself.
The wound was aggravated again during the movement.
He gasped in pain.
Despite Chi Heng's speed, Jiang Si still caught a glimpse of the wounds of varying depths on his back.
He injured himself on purpose last time.
But why this time, Jiang Si had no idea.
But clearly, Chi Heng didn't want her to know.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have stayed in the hospital for several days without sending her any message.

"Probably not." Jiang Si said confidently.
She had known Minister Zhao for some time and knew that he wasn't the type to compromise or smooth things over.
Moreover, this can be seen from the look in his eyes when he looked at Secretary Yan at the end.
Speaking of eye contact, Jiang Si couldn't help but think of those few seconds she exchanged glances with Secretary Yan earlier today.
In the past, she always felt that she could see through a person by looking into their eyes.
But this trick seems to only work on ordinary people.
For a skilled enemy agent, their eyes are precisely their camouflage.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have inexplicably felt pity for this person.
After clearing her mind of all those chaotic thoughts, Jiang Si spoke the truth.

"That's good." Chi Heng visibly breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this.
Jiang Si glanced at him and said, "I will let you know when there is news. In the meantime, you should focus on recovering from your injuries."

In the sweltering summer heat, it wouldn't be good if someone got dizzy from the fumes inside.
Fortunately, Jiang Si's worries were unnecessary.
When she got to the bathroom, Chris was leaning against the sink.
There were two wads of cotton stuffed in his nose.
It seems they were prepared in advance.
Chris was surprised: "You're done talking? It's only been less than ten minutes."
