Chapter 344 Absence makes the heart grow fonder; though late, it's here.

Guan Xue felt that her mother was overthinking things. "Mom, Si Dai and I have discussed it, and we don't plan to have a second child."

Therefore, this assumption is invalid.

Huo Tinghan: "Yes, yes, we've discussed it."

If my wife says she doesn't want to have children, then we won't.

He can do either.

"What? You're not planning to have a second child?" Guan's mother was so speechless that she almost couldn't catch her breath.

That brat! Aside from her looks, she didn't inherit any of her high EQ or interpersonal skills at all!

How could you say that directly in front of Huo's mother and the elders of the Huo family?

Besides, these days, which family doesn't have two or three children?

They are both highly educated, good-looking, and well-off. It would be a waste if they didn't have more children!

If it weren't for the fact that she was about to go into the delivery room, Guan's mother would have really wanted to slap her to wake her up.

Guan's mother's expression changed several times, which Huo's mother, who was standing nearby, naturally noticed.

However, she is really open-minded about having children.

In her view, whether or not to have children, and how many children to have, is entirely up to the young couple.

She won't interfere in this matter, nor will she put any pressure on them.

“Mother-in-law, let the children decide their own affairs.”

Mrs. Huo said in a sincere tone, "Every child has their own merits. Look how well you've raised Xiaoxue."

Grandma Huo chuckled and said, "Yes, as elders, we can't help with anything else, so let's just do as they say."

Having said all that, what could Guan's mother say but express her gratitude?

Guan's mother is content that her daughter has found such an open-minded and considerate in-law family.

Seeing that the two mothers had reached a consensus on this issue, Guan Xue seized the opportunity to say, "Mom, could I trouble you with something?"

She and Si Dai could only focus on one thing: she was afraid that after giving birth, her mind would be so blank that she would forget to register the child's birth.

Mrs. Huo thought it was something serious, but when she heard it was about this, she immediately agreed.

"It's alright, just pick the name, don't worry about registering the household registration."

"By the way, have you chosen a name for the baby yet?"

"It's ready."

Guan Xue wasn't particularly talented at naming things, so she left the task to her son, Si Dai.

Under the curious gazes of everyone, Huo Tinghan solemnly took out a notebook from his briefcase.

"If it's a boy, we'll name him Huo Jingting, with the character 'ting' from 'pavilion'. If it's a girl, we'll change 'ting' to 'ting' with the female radical."

As can be seen from their names, the two of them really don't have much of a desire to have a second child.

Perhaps because they didn't have high expectations, the old man and the others all thought the name was alright after hearing it.

It's straightforward and at least not unpleasant to hear.

"Yes, this name is quite good." Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Then it's settled." Mrs. Huo memorized the name, then casually asked, "What's the child's nickname?"

Soy milk.

"Huh?" Mrs. Huo thought she had misheard.

Seeing this, Huo Tinghan repeated, "His nickname is Soy Milk."

The air suddenly became much quieter after those words were spoken.

"This...you gave him this nickname?" Mrs. Huo took a deep breath.

“Yes, that’s right.” Huo Tinghan said confidently.

As soon as she finished speaking, Huo's mother shot her a sharp glare.

Since the name was chosen by the fourth brother, she had nothing to worry about.

He immediately retorted, "Why did you have to choose 'Soy Milk' as a nickname? Why not any other nickname?"

"Listen to this name! If you didn't know better, you'd think you were calling for a child, but if you didn't, you'd think you were asking for soy milk."

If all else fails, anything like "peace and safety," "reunion," or "fullness" will do!

Any one of them sounds better than this!

"Isn't the name 'soy milk' quite good?"

Huo Tinghan adjusted his glasses and explained earnestly, "It's white and chubby, and nutritious. My wife and I both love drinking soy milk."

So, this was done according to their preferences?

Mrs. Huo wanted to say something more, but was stopped by Grandma Huo. "Never mind, soy milk it is. It's better than steamed buns, dumplings, mantou, and fried dough sticks."

If she remembered correctly, the fourth brother and his wife seemed to particularly love drinking soy milk.

Huo's mother: "..."

Believe it or not, Huo Tinghan did initially think of calling it Douzhi (fermented mung bean juice), but later considered that not everyone could accept Douzhi, so he changed it.

Thankfully, they changed it, otherwise today it wouldn't just be a matter of being criticized.

With the child's formal and nickname settled, Guan Xue breathed a sigh of relief.

To avoid disturbing her, everyone went outside.

Around noon, Guan Xue's cervix finally dilated to more than five fingers.

She also finished calculating all the data she had on hand just before entering the delivery room.

At 11:25 a.m., Guan Xue was wheeled into the delivery room.

This pregnancy went more smoothly than most people had imagined.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., the door to the delivery room opened.

The nurse came out carrying a swaddled baby to announce the good news: Guan Xue had given birth to a boy, who weighed seven pounds and four ounces and was chubby and fair-skinned.

The important thing is that both mother and child are safe!

However, childbirth is never without suffering.

When Guan Xue was pushed out, she looked as if she had been pulled out of the water.

Right now, what she needs most is rest.

So after confirming that the mother and child were safe, everyone decided to head back.

Downstairs, the two little ones had been playing with Huo Tingzhou all morning and were now fast asleep in the back seat of the car.
