Chapter 158 Moving

Chapter 158 Moving

No matter what messages Xu Songning sent, Xiang Yun never replied.

Xu Songning gripped his phone tightly. He should wait a little longer. He couldn't keep hiding from her forever. His flight case, documents, and clothes were all at home. He couldn't just stop going to work.

I waited anxiously from afternoon until evening, and finally heard the sound of a door opening across the street.

She immediately put on her shoes, intending to block Xiang Yun at the door, at least until she finished saying everything before judging her; the court allows time for statements in its judgments.

Outside the door stood a strange man and woman, around forty years old, who swaggered in and opened Xiang Yun's door.

Seeing a head pop out from the other side, the middle-aged woman was startled. "Oh my, who are you?"

"I also want to ask, who are you?" Xu Songning replied quietly.

This is indeed Xiang Yun's house. The two people in front of me don't seem to be Xiang Yun's relatives, but they do know the combination lock on his house, something I didn't even know myself.

"I'm here to look at the house," the middle-aged woman replied, patting her chest.

Looking at the house? Xu Songning was stunned. Xiang Yun had already sublet the house?

He doesn't live here anymore?

Just because they found out she was Lily?

She glanced across the street. Xiang Yun's house was half-open, with several cardboard boxes inside. Some things had already been packed, but some large items remained untouched.

Xu Songning closed the door in a daze. She forgot how she ended up sitting on the sofa. Anyway, by the time she came to her senses, half an hour had passed.

He wondered what the person across the street was looking at, perhaps with a magnifying glass? Before he could even finish looking at the house, the front door kept opening and closing, which annoyed Xu Songning.

She flung the door open, not even glancing at who was standing outside, and yelled, "Shut up! Aren't you sleeping in the middle of the night?!"

Xiang Yun stood at the door, dragging his flight case, his face grim, and said nothing.

When Xu Songning saw him, his expression changed. "Brother Yun! I wasn't talking about you. It's just that some people came to see the house and kept coming in and out. It was too noisy."

Xiang Yun didn't reply. As he turned to leave, Xu Songning grabbed his arm and cried out urgently, "Are you moving? Aren't you coming back? Don't you really want to hear my explanation?"

"What's there to explain?" Xiang Yun suppressed his anger all day, not wanting to hurt her with harsh words on WeChat, so he simply didn't reply. If he did reply, it would only be like stabbing each other in the heart. "Our relationship hasn't reached that point yet, has it?"

It wasn't until he spoke that Xu Songning realized he had been suppressing his emotions for a long time, and his chilling tone sounded so unfamiliar that it didn't seem like him at all.

Xu Songning held his arm tightly, not letting him leave.

“If this matter isn’t clarified, I’ll be distracted when I’m in command tomorrow. And when you’re flying the plane, I’m even more afraid that you’ll be thinking about this and feel like I’ve been deceiving you all along!”

"You think too highly of yourself," Xiang Yun said coldly. Although his heart was bleeding, he still stubbornly spoke the opposite of what he meant. He couldn't understand Xu Songning's heart. Perhaps he was the only one who had been moved from beginning to end.

Xu Songning's heart trembled upon hearing this.

Nothing hurts more than hearing someone you love say that you're not important to them.

Reason told Xu Songning to let go, to treat it as a tragic love affair. It's so late, and to put on this show in the corridor is just making a spectacle of himself for others.

Her emotions told her that if she let go, she would have nothing to do with him anymore. Could she accept that? He walked out that door today and would never come back.

Xu Songning believed Xiang Yun was capable of doing something like this. Even if he hadn't packed his things yet, he wouldn't be coming back. He'd just call a professional moving company and have them packed up and taken away.

Thinking of this, Xu Songning steeled her heart and grabbed his two arms.

Xiang Yun frowned, wondering what she was up to.

Xu Songning's strength was far inferior to that of someone who regularly works out; if he wanted to break free, it would be effortless.

"Brother Yun," Xu Songning called out softly, as if he had made a decision, his tone firm and resolute.

"you……"

Before Xiang Yun could finish speaking, warm lips sealed his mouth, silencing him.

Their teeth gently tapped together, and Xiang Yun hissed softly, pursing his lips. The heat source immediately chased after him and pressed against him again.

Xiang Yun realized what she was doing and his eyes widened, while Xu Songning kept her eyes closed, her expression one of longing and sorrow, her hands tightly gripping his arm as if afraid he would push her away.

Xiang Yun was stunned for a moment. Why do you look so sad? Didn't you deceive me? Didn't you forcefully kiss me?

The kiss was brief and delicate. Xu Songning didn't have any special skills; she simply touched him gently, as if he were a precious object. Although Xiang Yun refrained from responding, she ended the rather awkward kiss with a light peck.

"Can you listen to me now?" Xu Songning asked, feeling wronged.

Xiang Yun's hardened heart finally crumbled before her, revealing its soft side.

He couldn't bear to see Xu Songning like this. Who was the one who was wronged? Who had been completely fooled? He couldn't afford to fall for this woman again.

"I don't remember much about what happened last night!" Xu Songning quickly explained.

Upon hearing this, Xiang Yun frowned. "Don't you remember?"

"I only remember saying something like, 'I am Lily,' in a dream yesterday." Xu Songning gripped his arm tightly, her nervousness making Xiang Yun feel the same way.

Physical reactions can't be faked. If Xu Songning's explanation now is just to play him, then he can really go into the entertainment industry and doesn't need to stay at the Civil Aviation Administration anymore.

“Yes, it’s me, Lily! But I swear, I haven’t been trying to play you these past few days. I knew you’d guessed it when I saw that bottle of hair dye this morning…”

"So that's why you're here to explain?"

Xu Songning immediately shook his head, "Of course not! I've been looking for an opportunity to confess this, but... it's really not something I can easily say out loud. I'm afraid it will affect our relationship. I drank yesterday to bolster my courage, but I didn't expect the alcohol to be so strong..."

What should have been said was left unsaid, and what shouldn't have been said was all uttered as if in a dream.

Xiang Yun gripped the flight case tightly, then suddenly released it. "Finished?"

Xu Songning lowered her head slightly, her fingers trembling a little, gripping his arm tightly.

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you the truth, it was my fault. But I hope you understand, I absolutely, positively didn't mean to play you! I just didn't want to lose you. But one lie leads to many more, and I had to erase Lily's traces. I thought if 'she' wasn't between us, wouldn't everything be simpler? But then I realized, you have the right to know, and I should tell you!"

Xiang Yun listened quietly as she finished speaking, his heart filled with mixed feelings. Seeing her obediently admitting her mistake, his anger subsided somewhat, but he still didn't get the words he wanted to hear.

"Are you done talking?"
