Chapter 16 Young people, please be more restrained.
Qin Han initiated the breakup. She unilaterally deleted all of Xiang Yun's contact information, so Xiang Yun had to add Qin Han's mother's contact information and tell her that Qin Han had depressive tendencies and hoped that they could take Qin Han to the hospital for a checkup.
Qin Han's mother knew that her daughter had a pilot boyfriend. When she heard him say that her daughter was sick, she started cursing. After learning that the two had broken up, she immediately deleted Xiang Yun from her contacts.
Xiang Yun had done everything he could. In the three months they were together, he gave Qin Han whatever she wanted, except for companionship. He never gave her a perfunctory answer. However, what he gave was still not enough, far from enough to fill the void in her heart.
He didn't blame Qin Han; it wasn't her fault. Qin Han was just sick, and neither she nor her mother wanted to face the truth.
Six months after the breakup, Qin Han's mother came to her, saying that Qin Han was showing physical symptoms of depression and hoped that he could accompany Qin Han to see a doctor. Qin Han wouldn't listen to anyone, only saying that Xiang Yun had said before that he would accompany her to see a doctor.
In order to get Xiang Yun to agree, Qin Han's mother made both overt and covert threats, saying she would come to find him.
When Gu Xing found out about this, he told him to refuse directly. After all, what did this have to do with him? Did he actually like her?
But after thinking about it all night, Xiang Yun still agreed to Qin Han's mother's request.
"I hope she gets better, it has nothing to do with liking her."
If he hadn't been a pilot, he would have quit his job to take Qin Han to see a doctor; he had to make a choice. Besides, if Qin Han's mother had caused a scene at the airport, he wouldn't have been able to continue working in that line of work.
To accommodate Qin Han's treatment schedule, Xiang Yun made a trade-off, switching from international routes to domestic routes, mainly flying to Shanghai and surrounding cities. During his stay in Shanghai, he would accompany Qin Han to see doctors.
Qin Han was indifferent and seemed unconcerned about his return, except when she was seeing a doctor, her gaze followed him intently.
"If you get back together, it will undoubtedly benefit your treatment," the doctor once advised.
Xiang Yun explained, "Doctor, I think you've misunderstood. I was just one of the factors that made her feel insecure. My leaving doesn't seem to have made her any better or worse. More importantly, we both know that we no longer have any feelings for each other."
These words were spoken in front of Qin Han's mother and Qin Han herself. Qin Han's mother lowered her head and wiped away her tears, while Qin Han raised her chin and echoed, "Yes, we have no feelings for each other anymore."
Qin Han's treatment lasted for three months, and Xiang Yun stayed by her side diligently, shuttling between the airport and the hospital. Even Qin Han's mother, who had initially been harsh on him, couldn't bear it anymore. She choked up and promised, "Once Qin Han gets better, we won't be a burden to you anymore."
No one can say for sure how long it will take to recover from depression; we can only listen to the doctor's advice.
Xiang Yun was under too much pressure. He couldn't tell anyone, let alone his family. Only Gu Xing knew, and Gu Xing scolded him for being crazy. He might as well go to the hospital to see if there was something wrong with his brain.
After three months of relentless treatment, a glimmer of hope finally emerged when the doctor relented.
Qin Han will be able to be discharged from the hospital in another week.
The moment Xiang Yun landed in Shanghai, he didn't want to go to the hospital. Gu Xing drove him to a bar, intending to drink until they were drunk, but his wife had something to do at home and left him at the door before running away.
"Sir, the bar has an event today! We who wear masks are all people walking in the shadows. Nobody here knows you, but you can know anyone too~" The waiter at the door, dressed in a strange outfit, like a cosplayer, shoved a realistic half-face wolf mask into his hand and invited him.
As if bewitched, Xiang Yun put on the mask and walked into the bar.
Let him wallow in this despair, let him relax this time, and let him temporarily escape this suffocating reality.
Right there on the dazzling stage, he caught a glimpse of a stunning woman.
She wore a dark green fishtail dress and had long, straight hair. As she swayed, the light fell on the silky skirt, making it shimmer like the surface of a lake. The woman resembled a mermaid, swaying gracefully.
The woman wore a white sheep mask, so realistically made that the curled white wool was soft and flowing. Her exposed lips curved into a smile, and her eyes met Xiang Yun's as she swept across the crowd.
Like a cascading stream crashing into a rock blocking its path in the middle of the riverbed, creating a misty spray.
Xiang Yun's black suit jacket draped over his arm, his white shirt accentuating his well-built physique and clearly defined muscles. Several people approached him to chat, but his gaze followed the woman in the Aries mask, and he shook his head in refusal.
The woman, holding a glass of red wine, gracefully walked to his side, keeping time with the music, and offered him the wine.
Xiang Yun didn't take it, but lowered his head and brought the wine glass closer.
He smelled a clear orange scent on the woman, which didn't match her outfit at all, yet smelled exceptionally good. It wasn't like perfume, but rather like the juice splashing into the air when peeling an orange, giving her hair a fruity fragrance.
The wine glass swayed slightly, preventing Xiang Yun from touching it.
The woman leaned in, placed a kiss on the wine glass with her red lips, took a small sip, and smiled brightly.
"Hi, shall we get to know each other?"
"X." Xiang Yun subconsciously gave the first letter of his surname in English. The people who had approached him before had also introduced themselves this way.
"Hello, Mr. X, I am Ms. L, you can call me Lili."
The music was so loud that it obscured the actual sounds, but that didn't stop the two from gazing into each other's eyes.
Who took the first step closer? Who delivered the first kiss? Xiang Yun couldn't remember anymore. When he tasted the red wine in Lili's mouth again, the two of them were already embracing and lying on the hotel bed.
Their bodies continued to heat up, their breathing became rapid, and neither of them cared about whether the lights were on or off, nor did they deliberately look at each other's faces.
The mask fell to the ground, its straps tangled together, a poignant and lingering entanglement.
The moonlight was beautiful, and Lili's back was beautiful too—white shoulders, a graceful back curve, and a narrow waist.
Xiang Yun's fingers caressed the small mole inch by inch, and the mole suddenly burned his fingers, making his heart burn.
It's so beautiful.
Xiang Yun stared intently at the mole, then lowered his head to kiss it. The neck beneath his hand reacted violently, as if the mole was connected to her nerves. When Xiang Yun's hand rubbed against it, he also grasped her pleasure.
The night seemed endless, yet it always had an end.
If it's a dream, you'll eventually wake up.
Xiang Yun took a deep breath, pulling his thoughts out of his memories, and replied to Gu Xing, "It's resolved. Qin Han's illness is almost cured. Now she just needs to take her medicine. Her mother hasn't contacted me again."
"That's good. But why haven't you replied for so long? Are you missing your Lily again?"
Faced with Gu Xing's teasing, Xiang Yun didn't shy away from her true feelings, "Mm."
"Young man...be more restrained!"
