Chapter 167 Cats and Dogs

Chapter 167 Cats and Dogs

Xu Songning firmly refused to believe Zhou Qiao's conclusion that men over 25 could only chat under the covers.

She didn't wake up until she heard the clatter of pots and pans coming from the kitchen, and she let out a big yawn.

The kitchen was filled with smoke, and she was so sleepy that she couldn't keep her eyes open. When Xiang Yun told her to get ready to get up, she mumbled a reply, but didn't move an inch, feeling exhausted and sleepy.

Xu Songning cursed him silently in her heart. Is Xiang Yun a dog? How can he have such good stamina? He doesn't seem like a man approaching thirty at all. This is completely different from what is said online!

After cursing in her heart, she stretched and sat up, the thin blanket pressing against her chest. She bent down to pick up the clothes that had been thrown on the ground, but after groping around with her eyes closed for a long time, she couldn't find any clothes.

"Where are my clothes?" she muttered to herself. She opened her eyes and saw a chair next to her with a new set of pajamas draped over it.

Xu Songning changed into her new pajamas. Hearing footsteps outside the door, she quietly slipped under the covers and buried her head in them.

The two of them are on holiday today, otherwise she wouldn't have dared to do that last night.

Xiang Yun walked in, helplessly tugging at the blanket. The person inside resisted, gripping the blanket tightly. "Get up."

"I won't get up," a muffled voice replied.

"Why aren't you up?" Xiang Yun saw that she had already changed her clothes on the chair, so he knew she had been up for a while.

Xu Songning poked half his head out, revealing his eyes. He was about to complain about Xiang Yun, but when he saw that Xiang Yun was shirtless and wearing jeans, his complaint immediately turned into an accusation: "Because you're a dog."

"?" Xiang Yun didn't understand what this had to do with dogs. "Then you're a cat."

"A cat?" Xu Songning asked, puzzled.

Xiang Yun turned around, revealing several obvious scratches on his lean back. "Look, a cat scratched me."

Xu Songning laughed, her morning grumpiness dissipating. She threw off the covers and clung to him. "Didn't you ask Sister Xu to stamp this? Here's Sister Xu's stamp, how about it?"

"It's fine, I was worried you might hurt your nails." Xiang Yun lifted her off the bed and kissed her forehead. "Go wash up and eat."

Xu Songning tied up her long hair, brushed her teeth carefully for a while, and when she returned to the dining table, Xiang Yun was still waiting for her to eat.

Xu Songning felt a pang of tenderness and sat down next to Xiang Yun, showing him her phone. "I lied to you yesterday. I didn't chat with Captain Luo."

“I know,” Xiang Yun replied.

"How did you know?" Xu Songning put his phone away.

When Xiang Yun grabbed her chair, he glanced at her phone screen. It was a group chat with three people, filled with emojis. Why was she chatting with Captain Luo?

"Why aren't you saying anything? You didn't sneak a peek at my phone while I was asleep, did you?!" Xu Songning immediately clutched the phone to his chest.

Xiang Yun took out his phone and told her the password.

“I won’t look into your privacy while you’re asleep. If I wanted to, I wouldn’t let you sleep yesterday and would have forced you to let me see it. Anyway, Sister Xu will agree to anything.”

The scene from yesterday flashed through Xu Songning's mind, and she gave an awkward hum, "I don't care to check your phone."

Today, Xiang Yun cooked large prawns that she had just bought. They were all big, with firm and plump meat. She added some scallions, ginger, garlic, and cooking wine, and they tasted delicious after being simply blanched.

While Xu Songning was talking, he had already peeled half of the shrimp.

Captain Xiang said he would buy oranges and he actually bought a whole box of oranges. Xu Songning put his unused juicer to good use and made two cups of fresh orange juice.

After the two finished breakfast, they tidied up the room.

Xiang Yun has moved most of her things. The bookshelf is placed in the second bedroom, and the 747 model in the display case has been moved to the master bedroom by Xu Songning and placed in the wall cabinet. There are also some cultural and creative items from Air China, which are placed in another compartment.

One person's belongings don't seem like much, but when two people's belongings are placed together, it instantly feels like home.

A watermelon hook was pasted on the back of the main gate, with Xu Songning's employee badge hanging on it.

After Xiang Yun moved in, Xu Songning hung up the banana hook again and put Xiang Yun's employee badge there.

"It's easy to forget if I leave it here."

Xiang Yun was always kept in his flight case, and he was a little unaccustomed to the new location.

"You'll see it as soon as you step outside, won't you? You really forgot that Sister Xu delivered it to you," Xu Songning comforted him.

Xiang Yun really couldn't forget this incident; he had almost never gone out without his employee badge. Once he got used to having his badge hanging at the main entrance, he would casually hang it around his neck whenever he went out.

When Ms. Xu made the overseas call, Xu Songning was taking a shower, and Xiang Yun was sitting in front of the computer handling some matters.

"Brother Yun, phone call!" Xu Songning heard the phone ringing and was afraid that her boss wanted to see her.

The phone felt like a hot potato to him. Standing at the door, Xiang Yun asked her, "Is this Auntie? Should I answer it when you come out?"

"It's okay, you can answer it for me, just in case my mom has an emergency." Xu Songning was still taking a bath and had just removed her mascara. According to her bathing routine, it was still a long way off.

Xiang Yun felt uneasy; this was practically a virtual meeting with the parents.

Ms. Xu opened a video call, and he found a book, leaned it against his phone, and tapped to connect.

It was broad daylight on Ms. Xu's side. She was taking a walk outside and, in a good mood, called her daughter. The video call connected, and Xiang Yun's face appeared on the other end.

"Hello, Xiao Xiang." Ms. Xu was not surprised at all. Her daughter had already told her about the two living together. She didn't care. As long as her daughter was happy, she could accept it, especially since it was Xiang Yun.

Although Ms. Xu was somewhat worried about Xiang Yun's identity as a captain, Xiang Yun's performance so far has been quite good.

"Hello, Aunt Xu," Xiang Yun greeted her.

Ms. Xu was approachable, and since the two had met before, they chatted about things abroad. Xiang Yun used to fly international routes, so he and Ms. Xu had a lot to talk about.

The two shared for half an hour before Xu Songning came out of the bathroom, her wet hair piled on top of her head with a hair drying cap. She leaned on Xiang Yun's shoulder with a smile and asked, "Mom, how are you doing? Do you have any money to spend?"

"Sweetie, you've finished your bath? Don't worry about Mommy, Mommy's doing great." Ms. Xu smiled with relief as she looked at her daughter's happy face.

Xiang Yun pressed her down onto the stool, letting her continue talking to Ms. Xu. He took off the hair drying cap from her head, covered her with another dry towel, and gently rubbed her wet hair.

Turn the hair dryer to a low setting and blow it slowly.

Xu Songning's hair was almost dry when she hung up the phone with her mother.

Xiang Yun brought her the hair oil, and Xu Songning leaned her head back in the chair as the hair oil was carefully applied to her hair.

She looked up at Xiang Yun's handsome face and couldn't help but reach out to touch his stubble, which he had just shaved a couple of days ago and had already grown back.

"Brother Yun, you're so kind."

"Yes, you too."

Xu Songning abruptly changed the subject and started picking a fight, "You're so skilled, do you blow-dry your ex-girlfriend's hair like this too?"
