Chapter 294: Arms dealers are not having a good time either!

Nicholas Ballmer's eyes lit up, and he stared at Yang Jing for a long time. Finally, he shook his head and said, "Forget it. I no longer have any hope for some large domestic companies. The series of events that happened in the past few years have made me completely give up on domestic arms companies. Mr. Smith, can you introduce me to some other arms companies? For example, the Soviets or... China?"

Nicholas' words also made Yang Jing stunned for a moment, then he laughed and said: "Nick, are you really going to go against those arms dealers in the country? Aren't you afraid that they will deal with you?"

Nicholas smiled bitterly and shook his head, saying, "What am I afraid of? What do I have to be afraid of now? The incident nine years ago has made it impossible for me to gain a foothold in the country, and I haven't set foot on American soil for nine years. Since I provided arms to the Iranian revolutionary army in early 1979, I have been completely on the opposite side of that group of people in the country. There have been three assassination attempts against me over the years, but I was lucky and they didn't succeed."

Nicholas looked at Yang Jing, his eyes gradually reddened, and he shook his head slightly and said, "I have lost all my family, and I don't have anything to worry about in China. Since those guys have been eager to kill me, how can I let them succeed?"

Yang Jing sighed slightly in his heart, looked at Nicholas and said: "So you really don't want to go back? If you want to go back, I can make sure you are safe and worry-free."

"Why go back? It's boring! Mr. Smith, I live a comfortable life now. No one can control me. I make several million dollars a year, which is enough for me to live a carefree life."

Yang Jing thought for a while and said, "Well, Nick, if you insist on doing this, I can introduce you to some relevant people in China. At the same time, I can remind you not to always focus on the Middle East. In fact, in some places you have never paid attention to, the arms business is not necessarily worse than the Middle East."

After a pause, Yang Jing looked at Nicholas, whose eyes lit up again, and said, "For example, the area where we are standing now, or the more distant African continent..."

Hearing Yang Jing's words, Nicholas slapped his thigh and said, "Yeah, why didn't I think of Africa before?"

"Haha, Nick, it's not too late to think about it now. Besides, Chinese weapons sell very well in Africa."

Yang Jing's words were not nonsense. After all, he had just come from 2018, and he knew something about China's arms sales abroad.

China's arms sales abroad actually have a long history. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, China first provided weapons to Africa, but in the first 20 years, it was purely political rather than a commercial activity.

As early as 1958, when the Algerian National Liberation Organization was fighting against France, China secretly transported the captured American infantry weapons stored in the country. In 1964, China first sent a cargo ship to Africa to transport military equipment to the newly independent Zanzibar (now part of Tanzania). Then, China provided weapons to Sudan, Egypt, Tanzania, Zambia, Mozambique and other countries, and in accordance with the principle of "not being an arms dealer" at the time, all were donated free of charge.

The Type 56 submachine gun, which was made by China in imitation of the Soviet AK-47, once became a symbol of the national liberation movement in Africa. The national flags of Mozambique and Zimbabwe, which achieved independence through armed struggle, even have images of this gun painted on them, which is enough to prove the influence of Chinese weapons in Africa.

However, since 1979, China has started to export weapons for a fee. The first paid arms export was the sale of J-7 fighter jets to Egypt, Africa's top military power, which opened up a precedent for China's paid arms sales. Then, since the 1980s, China has provided weapons to Africa at a small profit or at cost price, changing the unsustainable dilemma of one party simply asking for it and the other party reluctantly supplying it.

Later, as more and more African black brothers realized that Chinese weapons were not only easy to use but also cheap, they were a model of high quality and low price. Therefore, Chinese weapons became more and more popular in the African market.

After entering the 21st century, China even replaced Russia and Ukraine to become the largest arms supplier to sub-Saharan African countries except South Africa, with annual sales of US$1 billion.

Although it was only 1986, China's weapons had already become famous in Africa. Of course, if Nicholas Ballmer was willing to become a Chinese agent in Africa, Yang Jing would not mind introducing Nicholas to the relevant Chinese executives through Peter Wu.

Yang Jing didn't want to become an arms tycoon. Although this thing was violent, Yang Jing didn't want to get involved in it. If it wasn't for impressing King Kokang, he wouldn't have taken such a measure.

However, Yang Jing did not mind helping Nicholas Ballmer. After all, Yang Jing knew very well that the King of Kokang was not a good person to talk to. As long as there was benefit, this kind of warlord would treat you as an ally. Similarly, this kind of warlord was also a representative figure who would turn against you at any time. As long as they felt that they could not squeeze any benefit from you, they would turn against you in a moment.

Therefore, in recent years, Yang Jing still needs an arms dealer who can hold the King of Kokang in check to ensure the interests of the Dragon Fund in the Burmese jade mine. Compared with arms, jade is nothing to the King of Kokang!

Yang Jing certainly didn't mind pulling Nicholas Ballmer on board his ship. At least he could use this arms dealer to control King Kokang and make him have other ideas.

PS: I would like to thank “Zi Yan Tian Jiao” for the reward of 500 and “Ice Octave” for the reward of 100.
