Chapter 385 New Oil Reservoir

The reserves of this newly discovered oil reservoir are not lower than those of the oil reservoir currently being exploited. Yang Jing roughly estimated that the reserves of this newly discovered oil reservoir are even higher.

In other words, Yang Jing accidentally discovered a medium-sized oil field with reserves of more than 60 million tons.

Yang Jing had a reason to complain about the French surveying technology just now, because Yang Jing found that the French did drill two survey wells in this area, and both of them were drilled right next to the oil reservoir. If the French had drilled more than 20 meters further in, they would have discovered the oil reservoir.

In other words, if the French had been a little luckier at the time, and the person who determined the exploration well on the blueprint had a slight tremor in his hand, the O'Hama oil field would have changed from a medium-sized oil field with reserves of 58 million tons to a large oil field with reserves of over 100 million tons.

Unfortunately, the French were not so lucky.

A medium-sized oil field that had been hidden right under their noses for more than 30 years just passed them by.

Even with a rough estimate, Yang Jing estimated that the reserves of this newly discovered oil reservoir are at least 60 million tons. Because it is mined in the desert, the secondary oil recovery technology often used in other oil fields is difficult to implement here. After all, the basis of secondary oil recovery technology is water injection and gas addition. Gas addition is easier to say, but water injection is a bit difficult in desert areas.

Even without secondary recovery, a medium-sized oil field with a reserve of more than 60 million tons has a minimum recoverable volume of 20 million tons. For example, the crude oil in the Oham oil field is high-quality light low-sulfur crude oil, and one ton is equivalent to about 7.2 barrels. The recoverable volume of more than 20 million tons is 150 million barrels.

Calculated based on a net profit of $10 per barrel, this newly discovered oil reservoir alone can bring Rongbao Mining $1.5 billion in net profit.

If Yang Jing can convert about half of the heavy oil in the reservoir into recoverable light, low-sulfur crude oil by absorbing natural precious gas, then the two reservoirs together can provide Rongbao Mining with at least 500 million barrels of recoverable reserves - that means that this oil field, which only cost 47 million US dollars to buy, can bring Rongbao Mining at least 5 billion US dollars in net profits in the next ten years.

As a major shareholder of Rongbao Mining, Yang Jing certainly didn't mind such a good thing happening. He held 40% of the shares in Rongbao Mining. Originally, Yang Jing only wanted 30%, but in the end he couldn't beat Guo Dabao, so the proportion was raised to 40%.

A 40% stake would mean $2 billion in net profit, plus the income from the two Beaumont oil fields. These three oil fields alone would bring Yang Jing no less than $800 million in after-tax net income each year.

Only a fool would not do such a good thing.

After memorizing the newly discovered oil reservoir, Yang Jing began to absorb the natural treasures contained in the two oil reservoirs.

After trying the two oil fields in Beaumont, USA, Yang Jing has vaguely guessed some rules about the changes of heavy oil in such oil fields.

In Yang Jing's guess, the heavy oil also contains a large amount of natural treasures. This natural treasure is a great tonic for the holy ring, but for those heavy oils that cannot be mined, this natural treasure is a shackle that restricts their changes.

Originally, this natural treasure and heavy oil were in a state of balance, and neither could do anything to the other. However, once Yang Jing absorbed the natural treasure in the heavy oil, the balance would be broken immediately, and the heavy oil would produce a series of chain reactions because of the broken balance.

In concrete terms, the heavy oil in the reservoir that was originally unrecoverable will gradually turn into recoverable light crude oil. The heavy oil will not stop changing until this chain reaction reaches a state of equilibrium. The final result is that about half of the heavy oil that was originally unrecoverable will turn into recoverable light crude oil.

Regardless of whether this guess is right or not, Yang Jing himself believes it.

The amount of natural treasure contained in the thick oil at the bottom of these two oil reservoirs is huge. Yang Jing cannot even absorb half of it. The natural treasure pool that has been consumed in this period of time has been replenished again.

Of course, this absorption process lasted for seven or eight hours, from around three in the morning until almost noon.

If Chris and the others had not been accustomed to their boss's mysterious behavior and had brought a parasol to protect the boss who was standing under the scorching sun, Yang Jing would have been driven crazy by the heat just by standing in the sun for such a long time.

After successfully replenishing himself, Yang Jing almost fainted when he returned to the house.

"Damn it, next time I absorb the natural treasures from the oil field, I must not do it in this environment. It's so terrible!" After taking a luxurious cold shower, Yang Jing lazily lay in the air-conditioned room, muttering to himself.

Just now, the fat man wanted to tell him about the handling results of the Bolma Police Department's response to the attack last night this morning, but Yang Jing was not in the mood to listen. Even if he didn't listen, he could know the result.

The Libyans crossed the border illegally in full gear, late at night, so it was self-evident what they were going to do. With the precedent of the Amenas gas plant being attacked by Libyan militants five years ago, it is easy to guess what the Algerian government's attitude is towards this matter.

The oil fields have absolutely no merits.

The strong rise of China in recent years is not a random statement. China now dares to confront the United States head-on. What is Algeria? The senior government officials in Algiers are well aware of this.
