Yang Jing studied in Jinling for four years and was accustomed to the muddy but mighty appearance of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, so in his impression, the Yangtze River should be like this.
But when he saw the Yangtze River here, he realized how little he had seen.
The Yangtze River here, or more precisely the Jinsha River in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, is very different from the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. Although the river water here also appears a bit turbid due to the coming of the rainy season, the turbidity here is completely different from that in the lower reaches.
If the precipitation in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River is a kind of dark turbidity, then the precipitation here is a kind of bright turbidity. The former is lifeless, while the latter is full of vitality.
The massive rainfall rushed out from the distant mountains, made a sharp turn that somewhat violated the laws of physics, and then roared again and surged in another direction.
The mighty river water hits the rocks on the shore, making a thrilling roar. The scene is extremely spectacular.
If you want to see the panoramic view of the First Bend of the Yangtze River, you can't see it standing by the river. On the roadside from Lijiang to Shigu Town, there is a place called "Photography House". On the mountain behind it, there is an obvious billboard. It says the best observation point of the First Bend of the Yangtze River. However, this observation point is managed by a small restaurant. The restaurant owner has opened a mountain road behind his house. You have to pay a guide fee of ten yuan to take you up the mountain. Climb to a high platform and you can see the whole picture.
Of course, if you don’t want to pay the tour guide fee, you can just eat here.
When Yang Jing and his friends arrived here, the sun had not yet risen, and they had already had breakfast in Lijiang. However, Zhao Shuang knew the owner of this place, and after a while of greeting, Zhao Shuang took the three of them up the mountain. Here, you can indeed see the whole view of the first bay of the Yangtze River.
Zhao Shuang explained: "It is the rainy season now, and the Jinsha River is in its flood season, so the water here is very turbid. If you come after autumn, the river water here will be a different color. If you come at that time, the Jinsha River will show you her gentle and beautiful side. At that time, the river water here is green, very clear, and very smooth. Not as turbid and violent as it is now."
Gege smiled and said, "Xiaoshuang, I didn't expect you to have such a literary side."
Zhao Shuang smiled and pointed at the mighty river and said, "In fact, there is a very beautiful legend about the first bend of the Yangtze River."
"Ah? Tell me quickly, I love listening to stories the most." Hearing this, Gege seemed a little happy.
"Do you know about the Three Parallel Rivers?" Zhao Shuang asked, and several people nodded. "The Three Parallel Rivers refers to the Jinsha River, Lancang River and Nu River, three rivers originating from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, running parallel to each other from north to south for more than 170 kilometers in Nanyun, passing through the Danlika Mountain, Gaoligong Mountain, Nu Mountain and Yunling Mountain, forming a rare natural geographical landscape of 'rivers flowing parallel but not converging' in the world."
After a pause, Zhao Shuang continued, "In fact, there is a common myth about the Three Parallel Rivers and the First Bay of the Yangtze River."
"A long time ago, the great Qinghai-Tibet Plateau gave birth to three beautiful daughters and a handsome and powerful son. The son was the Yellow River brother who ventured into the north alone. As for the three beautiful daughters, they were the three sisters of the Jinsha River, Lancang River and Nu River."
"The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau had three beautiful daughters. The gods in the West all wanted to marry them. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau also agreed to the marriage proposal of the gods in the West and planned to marry the three daughters to the West. However, the three sisters, Jinshajiang, Lancangjiang and Nujiang, did not like the Western world, so they ran away from home secretly without telling their parents."
"The beautiful and smart Jinsha invited her two sisters to go to the East China Sea. When her parents learned that the three girls had escaped, they were very angry and sent the two brothers Yulong and Haba to block their way to the East China Sea. Nujiang and Lancangjiang saw the two cousins blocking their way in Shasongbi Village. They thought they could not defeat them and did not dare to go forward, so they changed their minds and did not go to the East China Sea. They chose the road to the south, but could not persuade Jinsha, so they had to rush forward in anger. Jinsha watched her two sisters go away, but her determination to go to the East China Sea remained unchanged. She resolutely turned around and rushed straight to the place where her cousins blocked her. Finally, she rushed out from between the two brothers Yulong and Haba and merged into the East China Sea. The place where she turned around formed the famous "First Bay of the Yangtze River" in front of us. As for the place where Jinsha broke through the two brothers Yulong and Haba, it is the Tiger Leaping Gorge we are going to next."
Gege smiled and said, "It's a good story. Xiaoshuang, the two brothers Yulong and Haba you mentioned are not the Yulong Snow Mountain we visited yesterday and the Haba Snow Mountain to the north of Yulong Snow Mountain, right?"
Zhao Shuang smiled and nodded.
The group of four stayed in Shigu Town for more than an hour. As the sun gradually rose, they got on the car and returned to National Highway 214. Then they headed north along this national highway that followed the Jinsha River through the mountains and hills. It took more than two hours to finally arrive at Tiger Leaping Gorge Town.
If you want to visit the entire Tiger Leaping Gorge, you usually start from this town. Although you can visit from the south bank of Tiger Leaping Gorge, the best parts and scenery of the entire Tiger Leaping Gorge are on the north bank. The most important thing is that there is only a road on the north bank. If you go to the south bank or the east bank, you have to walk.
As one of the world's top ten most famous "entry-level" hiking routes, a large number of tourists come here for hiking every year and complete the route in two to three days.
