Chapter 533: Shrine

The location of this Taoist temple is at the foot of the mountain and it was built according to the mountain's terrain. The mountain turns a corner here, changing from east-west to north-south, so this Taoist temple can be built facing north and south.

It is also for this reason that the west wing of the Taoist temple is located right under the mountain. There is an aisle about two meters wide between the back wall of the west wing and the mountain.

The Taoist temple also has no wall on the west side. The west wall is directly used as the mountain that is six or seven meters high and almost ninety degrees vertical.

The unusual place discovered by Yang Jing is located under this cliff.

This is a pile of "random" stones, or to be more precise, a base covered by a pile of stones.

Yang Jing pulled away the stones on top, revealing the base below. The base was more than two meters long and one meter wide, but it didn't look like it was built separately. It looked more like it was carved directly from the bottom of the cliff. And looking at the top of the base, the cliff had sunken inwards, like a Buddhist shrine carved directly from the cliff.

Yuan Hezi came to Yang Jing quietly at some point, and seeing Yang Jing looking around, he said, "Daimei Temple seemed to have been rebuilt many times before it was rebuilt, and there should have been a stone tablet here a long time ago, but it was destroyed in some year. When I and a few Taoist friends rebuilt Daimei Temple more than ten years ago, we found this place, but there was no stone tablet, so we decided not to rebuild it. We didn't take care of it in the past few years, and it was buried by the rocks that rolled down from the mountain."

Yang Jing nodded and looked at the west wing. Yuan Hezi seemed to see Yang Jing's doubts and answered directly: "This wing was newly built when we rebuilt this Taoist temple. There was no house here before, so when this house was built, the base of the stone tablet was blocked."

Yang Jing sighed and said, "If this stone tablet is still there, it must be quite extraordinary. I just saw some foundations of the main hall behind it. They are very old. I guess the base of this stone tablet should have been left behind a long time ago. It's a pity that it was destroyed."

"Supreme Taiyi Du'e Zun!" Yuan Hezi chanted the Taoist name softly, then turned around and left.

Seeing Yuan Hezi leaving, Yang Jing squatted down, gently brushed the somewhat broken base with his left hand, and the holy ring immediately gave the answer.

"The base of the stele of the "Great Mysterious and Spiritual Treasures of the Supreme and Immortal Sutra of Saving People", Volume 1, 928, Yuechengzi."

This answer made Yang Jing shudder again. This "Tai Shang Dong Xuan Ling Bao Wuliang Salvation Supreme Wonderful Scripture" is known as the first of all Taoist scriptures, the ancestor of all dharmas, and the source of all dharma realms. It is the core classic of the Taoist Zhengyi Sanshan Fulu Lingbao School.

The first volume of "The Great Mysterious and Infinite Wonderful Sutra for Saving People" is the most famous Taoist "Sutra for Saving People".

Obviously, when Yuechengzi built the Yuecheng Temple, he dug a mountain to make a shrine. However, the shrine did not contain the statue of the ancestor, but the famous "Duren Jing" was engraved on a stele and worshipped.

Although this method can be accepted, Yang Jing always feels that something is not right. After all, this niche built by carving out a mountain is too big, and there is a stele enshrined in it. Yang Jing feels that something is not right.

But he couldn't see anything here, so Yang Jing had no choice but to use his perspective skills. Sure enough, with the help of his perspective eyes, Yang Jing saw something that made him very excited.

Although the perspective skill can only see through a thickness of about 70 centimeters, Yang Jing still clearly saw that the rock wall behind this sunken niche was actually hollow.

The thickness of the rock wall was nearly 70 centimeters, almost exceeding the limit of perspective. It was pitch black inside and nothing could be seen, but it was definitely hollow.

Yang Jing looked down at the base of the stele again, and sure enough, he found something unusual underneath the base.

There seemed to be some mechanism hidden under this half-meter-high base, because Yang Jing could see some fine sand and something similar to a funnel.

This discovery reminded Yang Jing of the scene when he discovered the entrance to the Mu Bo treasure on the mountain outside Bhamo, Myanmar. The entrance to the Mu Bo treasure was in the middle of a cliff. The entrance was blocked by a huge stone slab, and the mechanism to move the stone slab was a sand mechanism above the cave entrance.

Although this could not reveal the overall situation of the mechanism, this discovery made Yang Jing almost certain that there was something wrong with the shrine.

In other words, this stele base is most likely the control mechanism that opens the rock wall of the shrine!

Thinking of the eight words "Received the mandate from, may you live long and prosper" written on the silk, Yang Jing wished he could dive into the hole behind the shrine right now.

Obviously, since Yuechengzi left this silk painting behind, there is a great possibility that he found the imperial seal and hid it in the Yuecheng Temple painted on the silk painting.

But this Taoist temple is so small that it is impossible to hide the Heirloom Seal, otherwise it would have been discovered long ago.

The mysterious cave behind the shrine is most likely the place where the imperial seal is hidden.

Thinking of this, Yang Jing changed his perspective skill into an ordinary eye skill. As a result, what he saw almost made him scream.

The cave, which was originally dark and invisible, was now filled with dazzling red light. The intensity of this red light was stronger than any treasure Yang Jing had discovered before, and even the treasure of the last Tsar could not compare to the treasure in this cave.
