Chapter 584 A series of signatures...

After flipping through dozens of family letters, Yang Jing completely lost his patience and prepared to clear all these messy things out of the storage space.

But inadvertently, Yang Jing glanced at a thick envelope with the words "だいほんえい" printed on its surface. And Yang Jing happened to understand what these words meant.

だいほんえい, translated as "base camp".

"Could this letter be sent to the base camp?" Yang Jing's heart moved slightly and he thought to himself.

The letters that Yang Jing had opened earlier had already made it clear that the "Dai-ichi Shinko Maru" had sailed away from Rabaul, stopped at Lorengau, and then continued to head north to the Caroline Islands more than a thousand kilometers away, and returned to the mainland via Guam. However, not long after leaving the port, it was attacked by the US-Australian coalition forces and was directly sunk here.

"However, how could such backward means be used to communicate with the base camp?" Yang Jing was really puzzled. Radio was very advanced during World War II. If there was anything, just tap the keyboard and the radio waves could transmit the message to the other side of the earth in an instant.

Even some extremely confidential drawings are often transported by powerful battleships or cruisers or even more stealthy submarines. It is absolutely impossible to transport them by this kind of transport ship.

But this letter sent from Rabaul to the Japanese mainland base camp was mixed with some family letters.

Yang Jing shook his head slightly and opened the letter with his consciousness.

The envelope was very thick, and there was a lot of stuff inside. There were more than 30 pages of letter paper, all written in Japanese. Unfortunately, Yang Jing could only recognize part of it.

But what surprised Yang Jing was that these thirty pages of letter paper did not seem to be written by one person, but by at least ten different handwritings. And on the last page, Yang Jing saw the names of several familiar Japanese senior military officers.

Imamura Jun, Temple Shouichi, Yamaxian Zhengxiang...

These names are all high-ranking officers of the Japanese military during World War II. How come their names appear together in this letter?

Because he couldn't quite understand what was written in the letter of more than 30 pages, Yang Jing decided to go out and see if he could buy a Japanese dictionary.

At the back of the letter, there was a very detailed large-scale nautical chart attached. There were only a few scattered islands and reefs on the chart, and in the middle was an archipelago consisting of four islands of varying sizes. Above the archipelago were a few words written in Japanese - Mauge Archipelago.

And on this nautical chart, there are also those Rao's signatures.

Obviously, this letter is not a general correspondence, but more like a petition, because almost all of the signatures are high-ranking Japanese military officers.

There is no need to say much about Imamura Hitoshi, as this guy is the highest commander of the Rabaul base.

However, Terauchi Juichi was more famous than Imamura Hitoshi, and not just a little bit more famous.

In the Japanese invasion of China, this Terauchi Juichi was the vanguard of the Japanese army! In 1937, Terauchi Juichi was appointed as the commander of the North China Expeditionary Army, commanding eight divisions including the First and Second Armies and about 150 aircraft of the Air Corps. It was under the leadership of this guy that the Japanese army occupied the entire North China and even took down the capital of Shanxi Province.

However, the famous Battle of Taierzhuang was fought against this guy's subordinates, causing this guy who was invincible in North China to suffer a great loss.

Later, when the Southeast Asian War broke out, Terauchi Hisaichi was awarded the title of "Commander-in-Chief of the Southern Army", commanding 11 Japanese divisions totaling 250,000 people to attack Southeast Asia and occupied the entire Southeast Asia. In 1943, he was awarded the position of marshal by the Japanese Emperor.

Unlike Imamura who was the commander of Rabaul, Terauchi Juichi ruled all of Southeast Asia after he occupied it.

As for Masago Yamagata, he was no ordinary person either. Although he was only a vice admiral, he was the commander of the Kaohsiung Garrison in Taiwan during World War II.

In addition to these three people, there are also Japanese Navy Rear Admirals like Akiyama Monzo who were once the commander of the Japanese Sixth Base Force and the garrison commander of Kwajalein Island in the Marshall Islands.

Mori Kunizo, Vice Admiral of the Japanese Navy, Commander of the Special Base on Chichijima Island in the Kasahara Islands.

Tanaka Raizo, Japanese Navy Vice Admiral, Commander of the 13th Base in Burma.

Rear Admiral Nishida, Commander, Parry Island Garrison, Marshall Islands.

......

This series of names of senior Japanese military officers made Yang Jing very curious about what was written in this letter and what this nautical chart represented!
