Although Gege doesn't dare to walk on the transparent glass plank bridge, she is very interested in the aerial view. Even though the height of the Shanghai Tower is much higher than that of the Shanghai World Financial Center, the floor of the Shanghai Summit Observation Hall is opaque, so she is not afraid at all here.
After all, the Shanghai Top Observation Hall is located on the 118th floor, 546 meters above sea level. From this height, you will have the entire Shanghai under your feet.
Gege was very interested in the coin-operated telescope in the hall. She watched it for more than an hour before reluctantly leaving the telescope. There are many tourists here, many of whom like to use telescopes. Gege can't occupy a telescope by herself, so once someone wants to use the telescope, she will take the initiative to give it to others and wait until others have finished watching before she continues watching.
After viewing most of Shanghai through the telescope, Gege took Yang Jing to buy a lot of postcards, and then wrote many names and addresses on them, and dropped them one by one into the green mailbox on the side of the sightseeing hall.
This post box is currently the tallest man-made post box in China and the second tallest man-made post box in the world, second only to the post office on the 148th floor of the Burj Khalifa at an altitude of 555 meters.
Of course, the altitude of this post box is only 546 meters, which is far lower than the world's highest post office at an altitude of 5,200 meters located at the base camp of Mount Everest, and even much lower than the highest post office in Europe at the top of the Jungfrau in Switzerland. But this is a post office in an artificial building after all, and being able to send postcards from this post box is actually very commemorative.
In particular, Gege sent a postcard to the couple in her own name and Yang Jing's name respectively. When they received the postcards after returning home, it became even more memorable.
After coming down from the Shanghai Center, the four people had lunch and then drove directly to Wuzhen, more than 100 kilometers away.
Wuzhen is one of the first batch of Chinese historical and cultural towns, one of the top ten charming towns in China, a national town with beautiful environment, and a national 5A-level scenic spot. It is known as "the last waterside home in China" and has a civilization history of more than 7,000 years and a history of town construction of 1,300 years. It is a typical ancient water town in the south of China, known as the "land of fish and rice, and the home of silk."
Wuzhen was formerly known as Wudun and Qingdun. It was originally divided into two towns, Wu and Qing, with Shihe River as the boundary. Wuzhen was west of the river and Qingzhen was east of the river. After liberation, the part of Wuzhen west of Shihe River was transferred to Tongxiang County and was collectively called Wuzhen.
This ancient town is a typical Han Chinese water town in the Jiangnan region, and has completely preserved the style and pattern of the water town in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. Houses are built along the river, with deep courtyards, high ridges and eaves, ancient style, stone paths, old wooden houses, and the clear smell of lake water. In Gege's words, coming here to play is to see a kind of sentiment and atmosphere.
Yang Jing and Gege had been to Zhouzhuang Town and Tongli Town before, but neither of them had been to Wuzhen, so after leaving Shanghai this time, Gege decided to visit Wuzhen.
And it happens that the fifteenth day of the first lunar month is only three days away. In Wuzhen, there is an important custom activity on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, the Lantern Festival, which is "Walking on the Bridge during the Lantern Festival".
The fifteenth day of the first lunar month is the Lantern Festival, commonly known as the "Mid-month of the first lunar month". People in Wuzhen have the custom of walking on bridges, that is, after nightfall, they go out in groups of three or five and walk across ten bridges on the way, and the route cannot be repeated. This custom originated from a disaster avoidance and warding off evil activities in old times, with women as the main body, called "walking on ten bridges" or "getting rid of all diseases".
In ancient times, women would dress up and carry a pot for decocting medicine, and walk in groups. When crossing the bridge, they would throw the pot into the river, believing that this would ensure a healthy and disaster-free year. Although pots are no longer thrown in modern times, the activity of "walking on the bridge" has been passed down.
How could Gege not participate in such a fun and meaningful activity? Even though there were still three days before the Lantern Festival, after arriving in Wuzhen and resting for a while, Gege took Yang Jing out of the hotel, took a boat to feel the charm of the ancient town, and began to explore the route of "walking on the bridge" at night.
It was rare that this girl was so interested in this custom, and Yang Jing was happy to play with her. So the two of them, followed by two big and strong foreigners, made this strange combination travel through the streets and alleys of Wuzhen.
After dinner, the four of them started to "walk on the bridge". To be exact, Yang Jing and the other three men walked on the bridge with Gege. But what made them happy was that even though it was not the Lantern Festival yet, there were still many young girls and wives who dressed up beautifully and walked on the bridge.
Occasionally, when you meet a lady walking on the bridge, whether you know her or not, both sides will greet her politely. If the lady feels good, you may even stop to talk and exchange experiences on the route of walking on the bridge.
Anyway, Gege was very happy that night, and Clark and John, who had been following behind, also smiled foolishly. Although they didn't know why they were wandering around here in the dark, they could feel that the boss and the boss's wife were in a good mood. In addition, they had almost nothing to do during this period of time. While they were happy to follow the boss and the boss's wife, they also secretly felt that China's public security was good.
After staying in the hotel for one night, the four of them drove two cars and continued their journey early the next morning. Although it was a return trip, the next destination was not Jinling, but Yixing on the Taihu Lake Line.
It is only more than 100 kilometers from Wuzhen to Yixing, and the entire journey is on the highway, so it can be reached in more than an hour.
