Chapter 63 The desire to go home brought tears to my eyes again

There was no legendary "airplane romance" happening.

After the plane took off and reached an altitude of 12,000 meters, Yang Jing opened his laptop and started reading a novel. In the evening, after having a decent airplane meal, the flight attendant brought him a blanket. Yang Jin reclined his seat and slept until the plane arrived at Yanjing International Airport, where he was woken up by the flight attendant.

The plane arrived in Yanjing at around four in the morning. Although more than twenty hours had passed, that was due to the time difference. In fact, the plane was only in the air for ten hours and ten minutes and was delayed by less than ten minutes.

Yang Jing didn't have much luggage, just a standard 24-inch trolley case and a backpack.

Normally, a 24-inch trolley case needs to be checked in as luggage and cannot be carried into the cabin. However, Yang Jing purchased an F-class ticket, which is a first-class ticket, so he told the ground crew about it when he boarded the plane, and they turned a blind eye to it.

Besides, the luggage compartment of the first-class cabin is not above the head, but there are cabinets specifically for luggage, so although Yang Jing's trolley case was slightly oversized, he was still brought into the cabin with him.

The main reason was that Yang Jing was afraid of trouble. Checking in luggage was troublesome, and picking up luggage at the destination was even more troublesome. Not only would it take time, but if someone else picked up the wrong luggage, it would be really troublesome.

There are such fools who don't even check the number when picking up their luggage, but just pick up their own suitcase based on its color and end up taking away other people's luggage...

There is no such trouble if you carry it with you. When you arrive at your destination, you can just carry your luggage and leave. It is convenient, safe and fast.

Passengers holding first-class tickets still enjoy special treatment when getting off the plane. Although Yang Jing did not take the electric car to exit the gate, he was able to exit the gate relatively quickly because there was a dedicated first-class channel.

It was still a bit cold in the early morning in Yanjing at the end of October. Fortunately, Yang Jing put on an extra coat when getting off the plane, otherwise it would have been a bit unbearable.

After passing through the gate, Yang Jing did not rush out of Terminal T3, but first came to the west side of the second floor of the terminal and withdrew 3,000 yuan in cash from the ICBC ATM there.

After returning to China, the British pound and the euro are no longer suitable for use in the country. In China, we use the national currency.

After drinking a bowl of California "Master Li" beef noodles in the terminal, Yang Jing sighed with satisfaction that the food in China was still better, while secretly despising the high charges of airport restaurants. Then he leisurely walked out of the terminal with his luggage.

It was not yet five o'clock when he left the terminal, and neither the light rail nor the airport bus had started running yet. However, the hardworking capital taxi drivers were still waiting, so Yang Jing did not have to worry about not having a car to enter the city.

In fact, Yang Jing's college roommate Wang Jiazan's family is from Yenching University, and this guy's family conditions are quite good. His parents are both professors at Yenching University. If Yang Jing had called him in advance, Wang Jiazan would definitely drive over to pick him up at the airport.

However, Yang Jing was eager to return home this time. If he asked his old classmates to pick him up at the airport, he would inevitably have to spend most of the day in Yanjing, so Yang Jing simply didn't notify anyone.

The taxi drove along the Airport Expressway until it reached Dongzhimen Bridge, where Yang Jing got off. A little further south along the Second Ring Road, you will reach Dongzhimen Station on Metro Line 2.

The airport highway is relatively easy to drive on in the early morning. It only took less than half an hour to get from the airport to Dongzhimen.

At 5:30, the subway in Yanjing was already in operation. Yang Jing bought a ticket and waited for a few minutes at Dongzhimen Station before getting on the subway. At Xuanwumen, he transferred to Subway Line 4 and arrived at Yanjing South Station in a few minutes.

The fastest way to get home from Yanjing is to take the high-speed train from Yanjing South Station. In one hour and twenty-two minutes, the high-speed train with a speed of more than 300 kilometers per hour can take Yang Jing from Yanjing to his hometown, Tianqu City.

It was already past six o'clock when Yang Jing arrived at Yanjing South Station. He could not buy the first high-speed train ticket from Yanjing South to Tianqu East, but there was another train at 7:10. Yang Jing bought the ticket for that train smoothly. After waiting in the waiting room for a short time, he checked his ticket and boarded the train.

After getting on the train, Yang Jing realized that not only did he not feel at ease, but he felt even more anxious.

Now Yang Jing only felt that his current situation was so similar to the song "Go Home" sung by Wang Jie.

"I walked on the deserted street at six in the morning, feeling tired. The vicissitudes of last night had long numb me in an unknown world. The cool wind blew my messy hair, and the bag in my hand tortured my heavy steps. Suddenly I saw a familiar scene in the station, filled with the dreams of wanderers and inexplicable sadness... The desire to go home made me burst into tears again. How long has it been since I sang the ancient songs loudly..."

Yang Jing sat in his seat, looking outside through the car window with unfocused eyes, humming softly this song that was as old as he was, and his eyes began to feel sore involuntarily.

From yesterday to now, in almost a whole day, I have crossed the entire Eurasian continent, from the westernmost tip of Europe to the easternmost tip of Asia, covering a straight-line distance of 8,160 kilometers.

Now, home is just over 300 kilometers ahead. Yang Jing, who hasn't been home for more than two years, can no longer suppress his longing for home...

"Young man, are you okay?" A somewhat old voice from the seat opposite woke Yang Jing up from his longing for home.

Turning his head, he saw an elderly man in his sixties with a little girl of five or six years old. The old man's eyes were full of concern and inquiry, while the little girl with two pigtails was staring at Yang Jing with curiosity.

Seeing Yang Jing looking at her, the little girl smiled shyly and dived into the old man's arms.

Yang Jing wiped the corners of his eyes and said with a smile: "Uncle, I'm fine. I'm just getting home and I feel a little emotional."

"Young man, are you working or studying in Yanjing?" The old man was relieved to see that Yang Jing was fine, and started chatting with Yang Jing enthusiastically.

"I'm not in Yanjing. I just flew to Yanjing from London at around 4 a.m. today. I'm studying in London and haven't been home for more than two years. Now that I've graduated, I can finally go home."

"Oh, I didn't expect you to be a returnee..." The old man made a little joke, then he touched the little girl's head and said, "Qianqian, call me uncle. What did grandpa teach you? Have you forgotten? Be polite."

The little girl looked at Yang Jing timidly, hesitated for a while, and then called out "Uncle" in a low voice.

Yang Jing smiled and took out two pieces of chocolate from his backpack and handed them over, saying, "Qianqian, you are so good. These are the chocolates that uncle bought in London. If you like them, take them and eat them."

The little girl looked up at her grandfather and found that he had no intention of objecting. She happily grabbed the two pieces of chocolate and said sweetly to Yang Jing: "Thank you, uncle."

PS: I would like to thank “灯火见家” for the reward of 100!
