Among the four major Hetian jade mines in Kunlun Mountains, the westernmost Mildai Mountain Jade Mine is located in the upper reaches of the Yecheng Qipan River in Kashgar. The two middle jade mines are the Aguijugai Jade Mine in Hotan and the Alamas Jade Mine in Yutian. These three jade mines are all surrounded by mountains. The Mildai Mountain Jade Mine, which has the lowest altitude, is more than 3,000 meters above sea level.
The largest of the four major jade mines, the Tatlekssu Jade Mine, is located at the foot of the mountain.
The Tatleksu Jade Mine is located in Qiemo, at the foot of the Altun Mountains, about 65 kilometers southeast of Qiemo County. The jade mine is only more than 1,000 meters above sea level and is not surrounded by mountains, so the mining conditions are very convenient.
The reason why the Tatlekssu jade mine has become the first of the four major jade mines is directly related to its convenient geographical conditions.
Of course, among the jade mines discovered in Kunlun Mountain, only this one is located at the foot of the mountain, and the others are deep in the mountains. Otherwise, if most of the jade mines were like the Tatleksus jade mine, then Hetian jade would not be a rare thing.
Scarcity makes things valuable. Why is Hetian jade ranked first among the four famous jades in China? Why has the price of top-quality Hetian jade been hyped up to tens of thousands of yuan per gram in later generations? One reason is that Hetian jade is indeed beautiful, and another very important reason is that the number of Hetian jade is too small.
But in fact, the amount of Hetian jade in stock is quite large, at least compared with the other three famous jades, the amount of Hetian jade is definitely more. It's just that it's too difficult to mine, so people can only sigh at the treasure mountain.
Those who have not personally experienced mining jade in the mountains cannot understand how difficult and dangerous it is to mine Hetian jade. Just like Yang Jing now, he couldn't help but feel his scalp tingling just by looking down at the mountains below from a high altitude on a plane.
This is Kunlun Mountain, which has a higher average altitude than the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau!
Ordinary people would be exhausted to climb Mount Tai, which is more than 1,500 meters above sea level. However, in Kunlun Mountains, any small hill is more than twice the height of Mount Tai, and there are no comfortable steps for you to climb. Here, if you want to enter the mountain, you must follow the path that was paved with the lives of countless predecessors. The degree of danger is simply outrageous.
