Chapter 75 Iron Boss

After returning home and staying at home for a few days, it happened to be Wednesday. The Grand Canal Antique City is open from Wednesday to Friday every week, so Yang Jing decided to take his grandfather to the antique market for a stroll.

Yang Jing drove to his grandfather's house early in the morning, put the wheelchair in the trunk first, and then helped his grandfather into the car.

Grandpa is now too heavy, 190 pounds, and after the craniotomy, his left leg was also affected to a certain extent, and he can't walk very well. Therefore, if you want to take grandpa to the antique market, you can't do without a wheelchair, otherwise grandpa can't walk more than 50 meters.

That day, Yang Jing's aunt Li Rui happened to come to her grandfather's house, so her uncle was freed and he went to the antique market with them.

The Grand Canal Antique Market is not far from the east bank of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. In fact, this market was branched out from the previous Yandiankou Antique Market.

Compared to the Yandiankou Antique Market which emerged a long time ago, the Grand Canal Antique Market is larger in area and better planned. Most importantly, the roads here are wide enough and there is enough space for parking on both sides of the road. Therefore, as soon as the antique market moved here, a large number of people came here to visit the antique market on every opening day.

Tianqu City borders Hebei Province, so when this antique market opens, not only people from Tianqu City and its surrounding areas come back here, but many people from Hebei Province and even Shanxi Province also drive to this antique market.

Yang Jing and his friends arrived early, so they found a parking space easily. After getting out of the car and letting grandpa sit in the wheelchair, Yang Jing pushed grandpa while chatting with his uncle.

Grandpa obviously doesn't remember this place. In fact, this area has only been developed a few years ago. When Grandpa was sick, this area had not been developed yet.

The east-west highway is called Sanba West Road. The city originally intended to connect this newly opened road with Sanba Road in the urban area to form the third east-west trunk road in Tianqu City. As a result, the road was built, but it could not be connected to Sanba Road in the urban area.

Because there is a Beijing-Shanghai railway line in between!

Speaking of this, Yang Jing also felt very fucked up.

The area where the National Cotton Mill is located is west of the railway and was formerly called Tiexi. The largest factories in Tianqu City are all in this area, and there are tens of thousands of workers in this area alone.

In addition to the north-south Beijing-Shanghai railway line, the famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal is located to the west of the railway line. Previously, there were only two roads from Tiexi to the city, one was Tianqu Road in the north, and the other was Dongfeng Road in the south.

In the past, when there were not so many private cars, these two roads connecting Tiexi and the urban area could still hold up. But as the number of private cars increases, these two roads alone are far from enough.

The canal is easier to deal with. The two previous canal bridges were very narrow, so they were later demolished and two eight-lane two-way bridges were built, so that the canal is no longer a traffic bottleneck. But the same cannot be said for the railway.

Whether it is Tianqu Road or Dongfeng Road, there is an underpass when passing through the Beijing-Shanghai Railway. These two underpasses have become the traffic bottleneck between Tiexi and the urban area. When there were fewer private cars before, the width of these two underpasses could still support it. But with the increasing number of private cars, during the rush hour every day, if your car is not stuck in these two underpasses for half an hour, it would be God's mercy.

In order to ease the traffic pressure in Tiexi, the Tianqu Municipal Government had long been planning to widen the two tunnel bridges or build two flyovers above the railway. Later, it was even planning to open up Sanba Road, making it the third main road connecting the city and Tiexi. But what happened? Everything was blocked by Tielao Da.

I don't know what the railway boss is thinking. What's wrong with the Tianqu Municipal Government widening the previous railway tunnel bridge or building an overpass above the railway to ease traffic pressure? It won't damage the safety and integrity of your railway. Why don't you allow the Tianqu Municipal Government to build an overpass?

But the railway boss is so arrogant! No matter how you ask the Tianqu City government, they won't allow you to widen the railway bridge or build an elevated bridge!

As a result, Tianqu Road and Dongfeng Road were still jammed like two sardine cans every day, while the newly built Sanba West Road became a complete dead-end road.

Sanba West Road is very well built, with six lanes in both directions and an auxiliary road. As long as an underground bridge is built under the railway line which is about 100 meters wide or an overpass is built above the railway line, the traffic pressure in Tiexi can be greatly alleviated immediately.

But even for this short distance of just over 100 meters, the Tianqu Municipal Government has applied for several years, but has not yet been approved!

Before Yang Jing went to London, Sanba West Road was already built, but when he returned from studying for a master's degree in the UK for two years, the short 100-meter stretch was still the same. (This is a true story. As for the reason behind it, I won't go into details. It's nothing more than a matter of profit! It's really fucked up!)

However, a dead-end road also has its advantages, that is, this wide highway immediately becomes a paradise for merchants.

The road is easy to walk on and wide, so the merchants on both sides of the road are very happy. The electric car market that Yang Jing and his mother talked about is in this area. Those who sell electric cars park their cars directly on the sidewalks on both sides of the road. Anyway, this road is wide enough and it is a dead end road. There are not many cars coming, and the sidewalks are basically not used. So why not let us use it - at least sell more cars and pay more taxes to the government.

"Where is this?" Grandpa obviously didn't recognize the place. He looked around and asked in confusion.

"Grandpa, this is Sanba West Road. Look, the antique market is in front. Today, my uncle and I will take you to visit the antique market." Yang Jing lowered his head and spoke loudly in grandpa's ear. Grandpa was very hard of hearing, and he couldn't hear anything unless he spoke loudly.

"Oh..." The old man pretended to suddenly realize something, and then he laughed like a child.

But after walking less than 20 meters, the old man asked again: "Where is this......"

There is no way. Now the old man’s memory of things after the operation will not exceed five minutes at most. He forgets them after he has heard or seen them.

The uncle explained loudly to the old man again, and then he and Yang Jing pushed the old man towards the antique market.

You know what, even though the old man forgets other things after seeing them, this is not the case with the antique market. Even though this antique market has been moved once, the old man's eyes lit up immediately after seeing this.

The imprint of antiques has been deeply engraved in my grandfather's bones, and cannot be erased by time or injury.

PS: I would like to thank "Crazy Fat Elephant" for the reward of 1,500, and "Purple Flame Pride" and "Ice Octave" for the reward of 100.
