Chapter 820: Russia's Largest Oil Refining Center

"Is this the Omsk oil refinery?" Yang Jing asked curiously.

"Yes, this is the Omsk Oil Refinery Center." Alexei answered proudly.

It's no wonder that because of the missing 1,100 tons of gold of Nicholas II, Yang Jing investigated Omsk for a long time. Of course, he knew this famous oil refining center.

Omsk became an important industrial base of the former Soviet Union during World War II. With the further development of the Tyumen oil field in the 1960s, Omsk, which is only a few hundred kilometers away from Tyumen, gradually became one of the most important oil refining bases in Russia. And this oil refining center is the most important economic pillar of Omsk.

However, after the collapse of the former Soviet Union, Western countries led by the United States imposed severe sanctions on Russia, causing Russia's economy to continue to be sluggish, and oil exports became Russia's lifeline.

However, Russia has huge oil reserves but lacks the funds and technology to exploit them. Faced with the West's aggressiveness, the Russian top leaders are helpless.

As the saying goes, change is the key to success. After realizing the ugly face of the Western world, the Russian top leaders, led by Tsar Putin, began to seek new partners. The Western world is blocking us, so we will find new partners who can break through your oil blockade.

After the new century, China's economic strength and infrastructure capabilities have been developing at a high speed that has shocked the world. Faced with such a high-quality partner, the Russian top leaders will naturally not let it go. So China and Russia started cooperation in oil and gas.

China's infrastructure construction capabilities are world-renowned, so building chemical projects for Russia is certainly no problem.

Last year, on May 2, 2018, part of the project of the Omsk Refinery in Russia, undertaken by the Seventh Construction Company of China Chemical Engineering, was successfully started, with an estimated construction period of 27 months. After the completion of this expansion project, the Omsk Refinery will have a combined hydrocracking unit with an annual output of 2 million tons and a sulfur unit with an annual output of 34,000 tons. The total project amount is US$420 million.

In other words, right now in this huge oil refining center in front, there are many engineers and workers from China who are working on the construction.
