The Grand Canal Museum is a cylindrical building with a radius of about 40 meters. The area of the first floor is about 5,000 square meters, with two underground floors and four above-ground floors.
After entering the museum gate, the first thing you see is a large room about 30 meters long and 15 meters wide. This is the isolation area of the museum.
On both sides of the isolation area are stairwells and elevators, but the stairwells and elevators here can only go down and not up, and are guarded by special personnel. There are also two fully enclosed stainless steel fences separating the isolation area. At the other end of the first floor lobby opposite the gate, there are also stairwells and elevators. After visiting the first floor, tourists can go upstairs from the stairwells there or take the elevator upstairs to continue their tour. Once the tour is finished, they can go downstairs from the two stairwells in the isolation area and then go out directly from the exit.
There are ten large password lockers against the wall in this isolation area. According to regulations, visitors are not allowed to bring packages or other items when entering the museum. These items need to be stored in these lockers.
On the other side of the isolation area, there are fifteen security gates. On the inside and outside of each security gate, there is a uniformed security guard holding a metal detector for inspection.
Visitors who want to enter the museum must pass through one of the fifteen security gates and then be checked by security before they can enter the museum for a visit.
After exiting the security gate of the quarantine area, there is a huge welcoming wall with the words "Grand Canal Museum Welcomes You" written in gold. In front of this welcoming wall is an isolation area with a radius of about five meters. The outer perimeter of this area is separated by a stainless steel fence. Inside the stainless steel fence stand four armed police soldiers with live ammunition and four bulletproof glass cabinets, two large and two small.
Among them, there are two large bulletproof glass cabinets on both sides, containing two "mountains of gold and silver", one gold and one silver!
These two mountains of gold and silver were built by Yang Jing using the gold and silver ingots from Mu Tianbo's treasure. They are pyramid-shaped, about two meters high. Under the spotlight, they emit the unique and moving brilliance of gold and silver.
In the two smaller bulletproof glass cabinets between the two mountains of gold and silver, there are a jade seal and four skull fossils.
What the four armed policemen were protecting were not the two mountains of gold and silver, but the imperial seal and the Peking Man skull stone.
The isolated area in front of the welcome wall is large enough, and it is the entrance to the museum, so when visitors come in, they can see the two mountains of gold and silver, the imperial seal, and the four Peking Man skull flower stones placed together at the first sight.
The two mountains of gold and silver as soon as you enter the door are enough to amaze you. These are authentic gold and silver ingots from the Ming Dynasty. Not to mention the value of the gold and silver themselves, the heavy history alone is enough to greatly increase the value of these two mountains of gold and silver.
As for the imperial seal and the Peking Man skull stone, needless to say, they are the most attractive national treasures.
Therefore, even though the area between the welcome wall and the security gate is large enough, it has become the place with the most tourists. If there were not dozens of security guards to maintain order, this place would have been in chaos long ago.
However, there are enough security guards here. Under the guidance of the security guards, many reluctant tourists can only slowly divert to other exhibition halls.
The entire Grand Canal Museum’s four floors are divided into ten exhibition halls, namely the Western Art Hall, Miscellaneous Hall, Jade Hall, Furniture Hall, Stele Inscription Hall, Calligraphy Hall, Ancient Painting Hall, Ceramics Hall, Documents Hall, and Gold and Silver Hall.
Because the first floor involves the entrance, exit and office area, there is only one Western art exhibition hall on the first floor. The other nine exhibition halls are distributed on the second, third and fourth floors, with three exhibition halls on each floor.
The Western Art Hall is self-evident. Naturally, it displays the treasures that Yang Jing obtained from several foreign treasures, as well as the antique artworks that Old Mike bought from all over the world over the years.
The reason why this exhibition hall is arranged on the first floor is, firstly, because there are a large number of exhibits, and secondly, because none of the exhibits displayed in this exhibition hall are not high-quality.
The status of the three major bronze sculptures is naturally self-evident; the original works of a series of masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Cézanne, Ingres, Rousseau, Rembrandt, Monet, Repin..., etc., who are familiar to even Oriental people, are absolutely eye-catching; and the original manuscripts of a series of great Western writers such as Tolstoy, Shakespeare, Hugo..., etc., which are on display can make people's heart beat faster; there is also the set of golden imperial armor of King Philip V of Spain, the golden mask and golden scepter of the ancient Egyptian pharaoh, the scepter held by Catherine the Great when she ascended the throne, the almost never-heard-of Fabergé eggs of the twelve zodiac signs, and those gold coins worth tens or even millions of dollars each... These are all eye-catching.
Even if these things were placed in the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the British Museum, they would definitely be the most valuable treasures in the museum. All Chinese people who saw these treasures breathed a sigh of relief in their hearts.
Back then, Westerners relied on their powerful ships and guns to rob tens of millions of treasures from China. Then the descendants of these robbers openly displayed these looted treasures in major museums. How sad this is for the Chinese people.
Yes, or no, protesting has no effect at all. Who the hell wouldn't be angry!
But now, those treasures that are regarded as national treasures by Westerners are actually displayed so openly in this Grand Canal Museum. One can imagine how those foreigners would feel when they see them.
