Chapter 14: Fellow Villager

After completing the transaction with Brother Hei, it was already past two in the afternoon.

Brother Hei kindly invited Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang to stay for lunch, but they declined.

The British are similar to Americans in that they don't take lunch seriously and a hamburger and a Coke will satisfy their lunch needs.

Although Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang have been in London for a long time, their eating habits have not changed. For these two foodies, lunch is definitely not something they can just make do with unless there are special circumstances.

Not to mention that Yang Jing was carrying three sketches worth millions of pounds in his backpack. He had made a net profit of more than two thousand pounds from this deal at noon today, so it was necessary to reward himself with a good meal at noon.

If I stay and have lunch with Brother Hei, wouldn't that be unkind to my stomach?

After driving out of the flea market, the two followed the navigation instructions and found a Chinese restaurant on Cooper Street.

What surprised Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang was that in addition to the English sign on the door of this Chinese restaurant, there were also three smaller Chinese characters - Shandong Cuisine Restaurant.

The British certainly couldn't figure out the meaning of these three words, but as people from the north of China, how could Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang not know the meaning of these three words, not to mention that Yang Jing himself was from Shandong Province.

Maybe it was past mealtime. When the two people walked into this Shandong restaurant, there were basically no customers inside. Except for a foreigner who was struggling with a bowl of noodles with soybean paste with a spoon, there was no one else to be seen.

"Hey, is anyone there?" Seeing that the waiter and the boss seemed to be away, Yang Jing shouted. Of course, he shouted in his hometown dialect. After all, isn't this restaurant a Shandong restaurant? Compared to the boss or the chef, one of them should be from Shandong Province, right?

"Hey, here I come!" With a crisp shout, a smaller girl walked out from a curtained door.

The girl seemed to be washing something just now, her hands were wet.

Seeing Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang standing in the hall, the girl smiled and said, "You two are from China, right? Please take a seat. Our restaurant can provide you with authentic Shandong cuisine. You two have definitely made the right choice by coming to our restaurant."

The girl's Mandarin is not very standard, with a very obvious Shandong accent.

Yang Jing's hometown is in Shandong Province. There used to be a very famous accent in Shandong Province called "Jipu dialect", which is the Mandarin flavor unique to Quancheng, the capital of Shandong Province.

The accent was amazing, just like the corn grits porridge that was produced in Shandong Province, full of an unusually rustic flavor...

Hearing the girl's accent, Yang Jing was delighted and asked in his hometown dialect, "From your accent, you must be from near Quancheng, right?"

When the girl heard Yang Jing's accent, her eyes lit up, and she covered her mouth in surprise and said, "Yes, yes, our home is not far from Quancheng, in Qihe, did you know?"

"Oh, we are fellow villagers, real fellow villagers. My family is from Tianqu City, and Qihe is a subordinate county of Tianqu City. Do you think we are real fellow villagers?"

The girl was even more surprised when she heard this. She turned her head and shouted to the inside of the door curtain: "Dad, Dad, please come out quickly. Our fellow villager is here."

After the girl finished calling, she immediately and warmly welcomed Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang to a table, and quickly took out a teapot and hot water. After thinking for a while, she ran to the counter and took out a small box of beautifully packaged tea.

"My fellow countryman, this is the Huangshan Maojian tea that my father treasures. You two can have a taste of it." Having said that, the girl brewed the tea quickly without paying attention to Yang Jing's attempt to stop her.

At this time, the door curtain was lifted, and a burly man who was about 1.9 meters tall walked out from the door.

This big man looked extremely powerful. Although he was still wearing an apron, his face full of beard like that of the fierce Zhang Fei, his fists as big as bowls, and his bulging muscles all silently proved how powerful this big man was.

The sudden appearance of the big man also scared Guo Xiaoxiang a little, and he muttered in a low voice: "Damn, is this a gladiator or a boxer? He doesn't look like a chef at all..."

Yang Jing was also surprised by the physique of this big man. This kind of physique can be often seen abroad, but in China, such a strong and powerful man is really rare.

When the man saw Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang, a smile immediately appeared on his face. It's amazing that although the man looked mighty and strong, his smile was still quite warm, and at first glance, this smile really looked like Dwayne Johnson.

"Hello, both of you. I'm Sun Chunsheng, the owner and chef of this Shandong cuisine restaurant. You can just call me Old Sun. I just heard from my daughter that you two are fellow villagers from Shandong Province?" The big man introduced himself while extending his right hand.

Yang Jing shook his head and stood up, reaching out and holding the big man's rough hand, which was really powerful.

"Boss Sun, I'm your fellow villager. My family is from Tianqu City. This partner of mine is not from our Shandong Province. He is my classmate and good brother in London. Oh, by the way, my name is Yang Jing, and this is Guo Xiaoxiang. Nice to meet you."

Old Sun smiled and shook his hand, then shook hands with Guo Xiaoxiang, and then said, "I can tell you are from Tianqu City from your accent. I worked in a restaurant in Tianqu City for four years more than ten years ago, so I am very familiar with the place."

Old Sun's daughter said with envy in her eyes: "So you two are both international students! That's great..."

Old Sun looked at his daughter lovingly and said to Yang Jing and Guo Xiaoxiang, "This is my daughter, Sun Xiaoyue. She came to England with me after graduating from high school. This girl is stupid and couldn't even get into university. She has always envied top students like you."
