The battle came suddenly.
About half an hour after Yang Jing returned to the warehouse, four flares emitting blue-green light suddenly rose in the sky, illuminating the area within a radius of thousands of meters centered on the warehouse.
The next moment, the security guards on the four corner towers all screamed miserably - there were so many of them... Damn it, RPG...
More than 20 security guards on the wall were holding Lee-Enfield rifles equipped with scopes. As the flares were launched into the air, they also used the scopes to aim at their respective targets.
During the British colonial period in Burma, they left behind a large number of Lee-Enfield rifles. This rifle can be used as a sniper rifle with a scope, so many snipers in northern Burma and the government army use this rifle.
Unfortunately, their movements were a little slow. At the same time as the security guards acting as snipers pulled the trigger, more than a dozen government soldiers carrying RPG rocket launchers had already fired the rockets on their shoulders one after another.
More than ten flames crossed a distance of more than 150 meters in less than two seconds and rushed towards the four corner towers of the warehouse. Although most of the flames passed by the corner towers, the towers were too big after all, and some rockets still hit them.
The moment the warhead, which was equipped with two kilograms of high-energy explosives, touched the wall of the corner tower, it exploded with unparalleled energy. The huge energy directly lifted the eight corner towers into the sky...
You should know that this RPG7 individual rocket launcher can even penetrate the armor of the T72 main battle tank. Dealing with the corner tower wall that is only a few dozen centimeters thick is no more difficult than tearing a piece of paper.
Three of the four corner towers disappeared in this attack. The only remaining corner tower was miraculously not hit under the concentrated fire of five rockets, and the five security guards on the corner tower also luckily escaped.
Then, the snipers on the wall also began to show their power. After a series of crisp gunshots, the dozen or so government soldiers carrying rocket launchers were all knocked down, and the only surviving soldier on the corner tower also controlled the squad machine gun on the corner tower and roared angrily...
A series of bullets and tracer bullets left countless ballistic traces in the night sky. Even though the flares in the sky were still bright, they could not cover up the ballistic trajectories of these bullets.
The security guards on the corner towers and walls opened fire back. Similarly, in the mines about a hundred meters away from the walls, countless government soldiers were also firing.
For a moment, the warehouse area seemed to have turned into a huge magnet, firmly attracting all the bullets.
Before the four flares hit the ground, four more flares were fired in the distance. It was obvious that the military commander of the government army wanted to turn night into day and use his numerical advantage to capture the warehouse area.
Although the warehouse area is located on a small hill, the mining area is more than 100 meters away from the warehouse area. The large pits dug in the mining area are natural shelters. It is really difficult for government soldiers to be hit when hiding in these pits.
But at the same time, these government soldiers did not dare to show their heads. On each wall of the warehouse area, there were five or six snipers holding Lee-Enfield rifles equipped with scopes. At a distance of more than 100 meters, anyone who dared to show his head would be killed by these snipers.
Although there is still one corner tower left in the warehouse area, this corner tower is high up and once a squad machine gun is opened to fire, it can suppress the fan-shaped area several hundred meters wide in front.
The only remaining turret was located in the northwest corner of the warehouse. With the advantage of being high above, the squad machine gun on the turret could block the north and west. The snipers on the wall also realized the importance of the only remaining turret. They all looked into the distance. As long as they saw someone carrying an RPG, they would kill him immediately.
As for the south gate, it is guarded by a 12.7mm large-caliber heavy machine gun, and the machine gun is close to the ground. The machine gunner is operating it directly while standing in the pit, with only his head exposed. There are also two observers holding heavy shields next to him to guide the shooting direction of the heavy machine gun.
This heavy machine gun was hidden so well that even if the government soldiers carried RPGs and aimed carefully, they might not be able to hit it, not to mention that there were five or six snipers on the walls on both sides of the gate protecting this heavy machine gun.
The two sides were deadlocked here. Although the government army was large in number, they were not stupid and did not dare to respond to the machine gun fire. Most of the government soldiers were still holding old-fashioned semi-automatic rifles, which were mostly left over from World War II. Some of them were left over from the Japanese, Americans and British. Only a few were equipped with automatic rifles.
Although the number of security guards in the warehouse area is at a disadvantage, except for the snipers, almost everyone in the area is equipped with an automatic rifle, which gives them a suppressive advantage in terms of firepower alone, not to mention that the warehouse area also has a geographical advantage.
If the government army had any advantage, it was undoubtedly the RPGs. The wall on the east side of the warehouse area was lacking heavy firepower, so it was obviously not enough for only seven or eight snipers to fight against the large number of RPGs. The east wall had been blasted open by the RPGs, leaving a gap more than two meters wide. That was caused by three rockets from the government army hitting that area.
However, this was the only victory the government army had achieved. After the government army destroyed three corner towers at the beginning of the battle, this hole in the east wall was the second and final gain of the government army tonight.
