Hanging clothes

Hanging clothes

supermarket.

Zheng Cheng stood in front of a row of meat shelves, thinking.

"What are you thinking about?" Hanyu took the things and put them into the shopping cart, seeing that he was still in a daze.

"I'm wondering how I'm going to choose." Zheng Cheng picked up a box of chicken wings. "They all have different prices, but they look pretty much the same."

"Because the weight is different." Hu Hanyu took it back from his hand.

"Then why is this one cheaper even though it's heavier than theirs?" Zheng Cheng picked up another box.

"Because it's from yesterday." Hanyu pushed the cart away. "Put it back quickly. That box is missing."

Zheng Cheng threw the chicken wings back before the blood seeped onto his hands.

The supermarket shopping trip that was supposed to take fifteen minutes ended up taking me an hour to accompany him.

"So there are so many different types of laundry?" Zheng Cheng continued to ask, "But I haven't found any that do dry cleaning."

"Because our homes generally don't support dry cleaning." Hu Hanyu answered him.

"Oh, I see..." Zheng Cheng picked up the small bottles of laundry detergent, sniffed them one by one, and wrinkled his nose at the aroma.

Hanyu stood behind and watched, then took out his cell phone to take a picture.

He rarely takes pictures except at times like this.

Because it's rare and cute.

It was just like that time when he saw Zheng Cheng huddled on a bench in a daze from afar.

After filming, he still felt it was not enough. He hoped that this kind of Zheng Cheng would belong to him alone.

So he walked over, and between the two promotional billboards, he lifted Zheng Cheng's chin and kissed him.

Watching him smile sweetly after being panicked and confused.

I really wish time would stop at this moment. For the first time in his life, Hu Hanyu had such an idea.

Zhou Min’s little green book opened with a special reminder.

The moment he saw Master Guan Er’s account updated, he stood up.

I forgot that I was still taking professional courses.

"Sorry, something happened at home. I'm going to make a phone call." Zhou Min apologized to the teacher.

"Okay, go ahead." The teacher naturally had no doubts about the top student and nodded and let him go.

Zhou Min calmly left the classroom and walked out of the teaching building. Then he ran all the way out of the school gate, got on an online taxi, and then clicked on the video.

In the picture, Zheng Cheng is wearing a loose black T-shirt and looking at the camera calmly.

"Hello everyone, I'm Master Guan Er. I didn't expect that the first time I spoke in front of the camera would be to say goodbye."

He smiled faintly, like the last lotus flower blooming in late summer.

"I cancelled my account on impulse and I'm sorry for causing you worry. I'm fine. After calming down for a few days, I still have something to say.

"First of all, I never said I was a student at Tsinghua University, and I was photographed there because I was visiting friends.

"But, I haven't graduated yet and am still on leave. Perhaps this disappoints you.

"Regarding the vacation video, all I can say is that even though the house isn't mine, everything that happens in it is real."

He seemed to recall something and a smile appeared on his face again.

"For me, it was an unforgettable and happy memory, so I don't want anyone to maliciously discredit it.

"However, I regret that I cannot continue to share my life with you."

There was a hint of loneliness on his face and his eyes drifted away.

Zhou Min knew that there was someone outside the picture who was giving him strength.

"Because of this incident, my family strongly opposes my decision to become a video blogger, and I'm afraid I won't be able to meet you all in this way in the future.

"But I must express my gratitude to you. Thank you for believing in me and defending me. I am very touched. I owe you an explanation, and I made up for it today."

He paused to take a deep breath.

"These videos are the hard work of me and my team, and they shouldn't be erased. So I decided to keep the Little Green Book account, and I will continue to upload the previous content from the D site.

"In addition, regarding the false rumors, I will use legal means to defend my innocence and dignity, and this is also an explanation to you."

When he said this, the corners of Zheng Cheng's eyes turned red. He looked away again into the distance, then smiled and turned back.

"Thank you. I had a great time as Master Guan Er, and I will always remember it. But from now on, I'm going back to being myself.

"Let's not say goodbye. Let's keep a little hope for the future and look forward to meeting again."

The screen goes dark before Zheng Cheng sheds tears. The video is shot in one shot, with only simple music and subtitles.

Zhou Min closed his eyes and exhaled.

A sigh.

Zheng Miao: Chengcheng, the whole family has seen the video you posted. Dad has already said he'll let bygones be bygones. Come back soon.

[Sisssi: "Crying" Brother, you are so strong-willed, but when can you come back? I miss you so much.]

[Zheng You: I've almost made all the arrangements for your birthday, so don't be late when the time comes.]

Xiao Ming: Brother Cheng, I've transferred the compensation back to the company account, and I've sent your resignation letter to your email.

After opening his cell phone and taking a few glances, Zheng Cheng answered a call from Yan Xiaoming.

Yan Xiaoming was crying uncontrollably on the other end of the phone, feeling both moved and reluctant. He said that if they wanted to sue, he would be willing to testify in court.

Zheng Cheng half scolded and half persuaded him to find another job quickly. After hanging up the phone, he sat on the balcony, looking at the somewhat unfamiliar scenery outside the window.

Along the old street, shops that should have been bustling have removed their signs, and the word "demolition" painted in red paint on the rolling doors makes people feel mixed emotions.

Most of the redevelopment area has been demolished, and most of the residential buildings have been razed to the ground, but a few small buildings still stand tall among the ruins, like thumbtacks sticking out of nowhere on a white wall.

This is what is called a "nail house".

It was lunchtime when wisps of smoke began to drift out of the small building without electricity or water. Upon closer inspection, one could see that scattered bricks and rocks had been cleared away, the soil had been turned over, and little green seedlings were swaying in the wind.

Farming in the city center? That's a lot of fun.

The sound of footsteps behind him was gradually approaching. Zheng Cheng did not look back and let the person who came hold him in his arms.

"What did Xiao Ming say?" Hanyu put his cheek against his temple.

"He still insists on not wanting compensation," Zheng Cheng sighed. "He'd rather do voluntary labor and finish uploading the video."

The phone rang, it was Zhou Min.

"I knew it. They're lining up here." Zheng Cheng clicked on the public broadcast.

Zhou Min didn't speak for a few seconds after the call was connected.

"If you don't say anything, I'll hang up." Zheng Cheng said.

"Did you make the video you posted today yourself?" Zhou Ren tried to keep his voice normal. "Where's Yan Xiaoming?"

"Yes," Zheng Cheng said, "He resigned."

The answer was expected, but Zhou Min took some time to react.

"How could you let him go?" he asked.

"Xiao Ming deserves a better job. He's only harming me by wasting time here," Zheng Cheng replied. "I wanted to give him some compensation, but he refused to take it. He's so stubborn."

"So..." Zhou Min's voice was unclear, "I'll never see him again..."

"What?" Zheng Cheng didn't hear clearly.

There was silence on the other end of the phone for a while. When Zhou Min spoke again, his tone was as calm as ever: "It's okay. I heard that Zheng Miao and Zheng Sisi flew back and are looking for you everywhere."

"You are not allowed to say it." Zheng Cheng replied, "Zheng Sisi has called Hanyu several times, and I don't want to see them yet."

"Whatever you want, it's none of my business." A loud horn blared from behind Zhou Min. "That's it for now. I have things to do at school. I'll come see you when I'm done."

"No need to come see me. Just go about your business. I'm fine." Zheng Cheng raised his hand and touched Hanyu's face. "You're not in school? Don't you have classes today?"

"It's none of your business. By the way, I'm hanging up." Zhou Min hung up the phone.

"Is he crazy? Why is the school mad at me? It's inexplicable." Zheng Cheng hung up the phone and frowned.

"Is it really okay that your family is looking for you everywhere?" Hanyu asked.

"Ah, you're just bringing up something that's not relevant to the topic."

Not wanting to answer this question, Zheng Cheng picked up the washbasin beside him and said, "I have to continue hanging the clothes. I'm busy."

"It's not finished drying yet?" Hu Hanyu's surprise was not fake. "If you don't dry it out now, it will just dry out."

"You can't blame me. They look so different when dry and wet." Zheng Cheng pulled out a sleeve. "Don't worry about me. Go cook your meal. I'll definitely finish drying them before dinner."

Hanyu had prepared the dishes, and it only took five minutes to stir-fry. He didn't rush to leave, but sat down and watched Zheng Cheng struggle with his clothes.

I saw him pulling his sleeve and looking at it for a long time, then pulling out a corner from the other end of the basin, and pulling both ends together. As a result, the clothes in the basin became more and more tightly united around each other.

"Is this a Chinese knot?" Hanyu couldn't help laughing when he saw Zheng Cheng turning a piece of clothes over for the third time.

"Can't you wear something different?" Zheng Cheng finally threw his sleeves into the basin. "It's all black, I can't even see clearly."

"Blame me, blame me," Hu Hanyu smiled and walked over to help, unbuttoning his clothes and handing them to him. "Sisi will see your video, right?"

"Well, I saw it." Zheng Cheng shook the clothes and stretched them out on the hanger, then hung them on the rack. "I hope she's smart enough to send our new number to Aunt Zhang."

In the past two days, he has learned how to use the washing machine and electric clothes drying rack, and he didn't fail many times. The only thing he lost was the only white T-shirt he was wearing - now it should be called a gray T-shirt.

"Actually, I ignored my dad for a long time." Hanyu saw him finish hanging up and handed him another one, "After he knocked down my store."

"Then why did you care about him later?" Zheng Cheng asked.

"Looking back, I realized my dad was actually doing this for my own good," Hanyu continued. "He just didn't like to talk, but he always left me a way out."

All dads are like this, right?

"My dad also likes to give me gold coins." Zheng Cheng kept trying to hang a piece of clothing on his hands. "But what I want is not to just eat and wait for death."

"Have you told him?" Hanyu suddenly asked, "What do you want?"

Zheng Cheng pulled the clothes on the hanger for a long time, but one side was still too long while the other was too short.

"No," he said finally. "It's no use saying it."

"You're wrong." Hu Hanyu stood up and pointed at his crooked clothes. "You mistook the cuff for a collar."

"Damn, why are you wearing a vest for no reason? It's cold!" Zheng Cheng muttered as he found the collar again.

Seeing him arranging the clothes hangers with a jingle, Hu Hanyu sat back with a smile.

"I also thought it was useless to talk at that time," Hanyu said. "Then I got drunk one time and talked a lot with my dad about my dad, Jiangkou Old Street, and how I liked him better when he used to make steamed buns."

"Then what?"

"He didn't say anything, but the next morning he made me a basket of buns." Hu Hanyu wiped his nose and smiled again, "That's my dad."

"Have you eaten the buns?" Zheng Cheng took a step back and checked his clothes.

"I'm done eating. I'm stuffed to death." Hanyu said, "My dad scolded me for being a starving ghost, but he also said that if I want to eat more, he'll make it for me."

"You really are." Zheng Cheng didn't know how to express how touched he was.

These are Hanyu’s family, but unfortunately, they are not mine.

After pressing the switch of the clothes hanger, the two people slowly raised their heads along with the rising clothes as if watching a flag-raising ceremony.

"I did a good job drying it, didn't I?" Zheng Cheng asked with a bit of pride.

"That's great. You even arranged them by length." Hanyu kissed him on the cheek and said, "I'm going to cook."

Zheng Cheng admired it for a while by himself. A genius is a genius. He stood there with his hands on his hips for a while.

"Did Zhou Min give you Dr. Yin's contact information?" The range hood started to sound, and he yelled towards the kitchen.

"I have." Hanyu replied.

"I'll call her tomorrow!"

"good!"

It was just a matter of taking a few steps, and the two people were yelling about something.

Zheng Cheng ran to the kitchen, stood behind Hu Hanyu, and turned on the camera.

"What are you doing today?" he asked.

"You're filming this too." Hu Hanyu said, "It's just braised chicken wings."

"Don't worry about me. Add the oil first? Then put the chicken wings...oh my god, the winter vegetables are scary."

Zheng Cheng was able to avoid running away when he heard the chicken wings popping in the pan, but he was still startled.

Hu Hanyu laughed so hard that the chicken wings bounced along with him.
