Chapter 11 Going Up the Mountain

Chapter 11 Going Up the Mountain

Jinran would spend her evenings in her space, reading and snacking. After a while, her face became rounder, and she suddenly had a pang of conscience. She realized she couldn't be the only one who got fat; she had to make sure everyone in her family got fat too.

So they started looking for something in the space that they could take out.

She actually found it—a whole container of meat rabbits, but the rabbits seemed frozen in place, lifeless.

Jinran tried to take the rabbit out, but to her surprise, the rabbit came to life as soon as it came out of the space and even kicked her.

Jinran was somewhat arrogant, showing no awareness whatsoever of being a meal on someone's plate.

Then I threw the rabbit into the space.

Now that the rabbit is ready, let's go up the mountain.

Jinran, carrying a basket, greeted Grandma Chen, "Grandma, I'm going up the mountain to see if there are any wild vegetables or wild eggs, so I can give Grandpa and Grandma a good boost."

Grandma Shen smiled so broadly her eyes disappeared. "My Nini is so filial. Be careful going up the mountain, don't go too deep into the mountains, it's dangerous there."

Jinran agreed with a sweet smile. She was already sweet-looking, and after eating a lot of good food in the space, her little face became even rounder and cuter.

Along the way, whenever we met villagers who weren't working in the fields, we would greet them with a smile.

The older woman said, "Seeing Nini smile makes me feel better. This child is just blessed."

Auntie 2: "Who says otherwise? Any family that can marry a girl like Nini is truly blessed."

Auntie 3: "This is truly a case of one well water supporting several kinds of people. Look at the bright red of Old Master Shen's house, it's not a good one."

Then the older women started gossiping and chatting about this and that. Shen Yanhong, who was planning to go home for a drink of water, overheard the villagers' conversation and was furious. But she didn't dare to argue with them, so she could only go home in a huff.

When she got home, she looked unwell. Grandma Shen asked, "Why are you back at this hour?"

Shen Yanhong hummed in response but didn't say anything. Grandma Shen, unwilling to see her stepmother's face, turned around and went into the house in anger.

Looking at her grandmother's retreating figure, Shen Yanhong felt a deep sense of unfairness. She toiled away in the fields while Shen Jinran could go off and play. If they hadn't been so indifferent, she wouldn't have had to work in the fields to earn her tuition.

Just wait and see. Once she's successful, no one will be able to take advantage of her.

Jinran skipped and hopped her way up the mountain, finding everything interesting. Before she knew it, she had gone deeper and deeper into the mountains. When she realized there was no path under her feet, she was dumbfounded.

"Where am I? Could I be deep in the mountains? Have I already traveled this far?"

All she could see were tall, lush trees. Jinran thought to herself, since she was already here, she should take something back with her.

I wandered around tentatively and found a jujube tree. Perhaps because no one had noticed it before, the jujubes were growing densely.

Some of the dates had already turned red, so Jinran climbed up the tree and started working.

The more I do it, the happier I get. This is all free stuff, it feels amazing to get something for free.

When the basket is full, it's put into the storage space. The intention is to take everything that's passed by.

Just as she was happily working, she heard grunting sounds coming from afar. Jinran then saw a giant wild boar slowly walking towards her with four little wild boars.

Jinran thought anxiously and hopefully, "Pigs probably don't eat dates! They can't see me, they can't see me."

But her hopes were dashed; the pig ate everything. It even ate at her feet, within easy reach of kicking its head.

Jinran curled up into a ball, hugging the tree trunk tightly, waiting for the wild boar family to finish eating the fallen dates, not daring to make a sound, pretending to be a caterpillar growing on the date tree. If all else failed, she would have to take refuge in her spatial dimension.

Before long, the wild boar family finished eating and leisurely walked away.

Jinran only breathed a sigh of relief when the wild boar family was out of sight. She had absolutely no idea what the female protagonist in the transmigration novel was thinking about fighting wild boars.

That's incredibly overconfident.

Those who have never seen a wild boar cannot know how formidable they are; they are comparable to tigers.

She's outmaneuvered a wild boar, and now her family can have a feast.

Jinran put the last few dates into her spatial storage, climbed down the tree shakily, and ran home as fast as she could, not forgetting to put a dead rabbit into her basket.
