Chapter 133 Roast Duck

Chapter 133 Roast Duck

After Jinran confronted her roommates, things were quiet for a while. Jinran was in a good mood every day, reading, studying, and eating, and she was extremely happy.

Gu Siyan has disappeared again. Jinran thinks that apart from being good-looking, this kind of man is completely unsuitable as a boyfriend. He just disappears all the time.

Jinran didn't have time to think about Gu Siyan's matter, nor did she know how Professor Gu had spoken to the teachers of each subject. Jinran was a key figure in the department and was always present in every class.

This made Jinran dare not be careless at all, and she had to spend a lot of time studying every day.

The four little ones in the space and the dark circles under their eyes were complaining, but there was no way around it; I still had to make time to play with them.

Jinran now looks as tired as a middle-aged man.

Jinran finally had a day off, so she decided to lie in bed and try out various positions.

But things didn't go as planned. Someone came upstairs and told her that her boyfriend was waiting for her downstairs.

Jinran's "???" target? Which bastard is so bold?

When I went downstairs, I saw it was Gu Siyan.

Jinran pouted and asked irritably, "What do you want from me?"

Gu Si said with a smile, "I'm off today, and I've finished my work. I'll take you to eat Peking duck. I know a really authentic place where you can't get in without knowing someone there."

Jinran immediately changed her tune, smiling sweetly as she said, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"

Gu Siyan drove this time. Jinran opened her eyes wide and asked anxiously, "What's going on? Isn't it wrong to steal a car?"

Gu Siyan was amused and said irritably, "Can't you think of me in a good way? This is my reward for my merit this time. Although it can't completely belong to me, I can use it forever."

Jinran got into the car, touching and looking at it from all angles. The car was both outdated and trendy for this era.

Feng Lijuan witnessed Jinran getting into the car. She watched the car drive away with resentment, cursing inwardly. "Heaven is blind," she thought, "a country girl with no manners, yet she's so lucky to have found such a handsome man and a car. He must come from a very wealthy family."

Jinran, restless, looked around in the car and then asked Gu Siyan, "How much would this car cost if bought privately?"

"You can't buy it; the procedures are very difficult. And the customs duties are very expensive."

Jinran nodded, then obediently looked out the window.

Gu Siyan asked, "Aren't you going to ask me what I'm researching?"

Jinran, without a care in the world, said, "Can I say? Isn't all research supposed to be kept secret?"

Gu Siyan was speechless for a moment. You're right, I really can't say anything more.

Jinran looked at him with a disapproving expression, "Why are you making such a racket here?"

Gu Siyan: "Isn't he trying to find a topic to talk about?"

Gu Siyan then asked, "How have your studies been lately?"

Jinran was almost in tears, and said sadly, "These professors have almost stripped me bare. They don't cherish this delicate flower at all, and they beat me like a storm every day."

Gu Siyan had heard his grandfather say this before. His grandfather's exact words were: "Little Shen is just lazy. She clearly has a very good ability to learn, but she just drifts along. So I asked my old friends to give her extra lessons. I even invited your Grandpa Wang, and even your Grandpa Wang praised her, saying that this child is a good one."

Upon hearing the name Grandpa Wang, Gu Siyan felt a chill for Jinran. This big shot was an expert in antique appraisal, and the kind who was impartial and incorruptible. Teaching Jinran? That seemed absurd.

Gu Siyan glanced at Jinran out of the corner of his eye, watching her tearfully recount her hardships. She said that after each class, she would receive extra tutoring, and if she said something wrong, she would be punished by copying from the book. She had a miserable life.

Gu Siyan couldn't help but burst out laughing.

Jinran looked at him in disbelief, "Do you even have a heart? Am I not miserable enough?"

Seeing that the little girl was almost crying, Gu Siyan quickly explained, "No, no, I just thought of a small thing in my research and couldn't help myself."

Jinran didn't believe him; he was just making fun of her. Indeed, human joys and sorrows are not shared.

Upon arriving at the destination, Jinran remained worried and said that she needed to eat an extra roast duck to help her wound heal.

Gu Siyan readily agreed.

Gu Siyan barely ate anything during the meal, as he was busy taking care of Jinran. Jinran didn't think much of it and accepted it naturally.

Just then, a tall man appeared with a wine glass in his hand and greeted him happily: "Brother Gu, what a coincidence to run into you here? Come and have a meal."

Gu Siyan was still rolling duck pancakes for Jinran, nodding politely without saying much.

The man, acting like a natural friend, sat down and said warmly, "We're in a private room with Qiangzi and the others. Come over to our table and have a bite to eat. Let's have a good get-together."

Gu Siyan politely declined, saying, "No, it's not convenient today. Let's do it another day. I'll treat."

The man then noticed Jinran and said with an awkward smile, "I understand, I understand. Let's meet up next time."

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, he left.
