Chapter 146 Jealousy
After a satisfying meal, Jinran took Gu Siyan out for a stroll.
Gu Siyan didn't dare to hold Jinran's hand openly, feeling a little regretful. The two walked to Jinran's high school, and Jinran introduced the place like a little tour guide.
"This is Ms. Nini's alma mater. Take a good look around, don't miss it. Opportunities to get up close and personal with celebrities are rare."
"Shen Jinran? Is that you?"
Jinran turned around and actually saw Wang Jie and Xu Pandi, her annoying high school deskmates.
Jinran nodded politely, "Long time no see!"
Wang Jie glanced at Gu Siyan and was stunned. This boy was too good-looking. She asked shyly in a low voice, "Jinran, who is this? Why don't you introduce him?"
"You don't need to know my partner, since we'll never see each other again anyway."
Xu Pandi said unhappily, "You're still so annoying. I'm getting married the day after tomorrow, are you coming?"
Jinran shook her head, "I'm not going. I wish you a long and happy marriage."
Wang Jie glanced at Gu Siyan with a hint of despair before being dragged away by Xu Pandi.
Jinran described how annoying the two of them were, and then emphasized again how exceptionally outstanding she was.
Gu Siyan just smiled.
Jinran finally went on strike and went home, asking her father to come instead.

Gu Siyan smiled and squeezed Jinran's hand.
Jinran's return to the village caused a sensation. The old men and women all gathered around, wanting to know about things in the capital. When they saw the new face on the bus, and heard from the driver that it was Jinran's boyfriend, they all said enviously, "This child has made something of himself. His boyfriend is really good-looking. I heard he's from the capital. You can tell from his family background that he's not bad."
"Who says otherwise? I reckon she'll be able to stay in Beijing from now on. Nini has been extraordinary since she was little, and now she's even more promising."
